About this property

Private Retreat, Absolute Waterfront, Sauna, Minutes To Damariscotta

Hidden away on a quiet freshwater lake just 1 hour from Portland and 7 minutes from the village of Damariscotta, the Tea House at Blenheim Park is a place to slow down, exhale, and settle into the rhythm of the water.

Set on a 16-acre lakeside estate, two turn-of-the-century cottages sit just at the water’s edge—so close you’ll hear the gentle lapping of the lake from bed. Tucked 900 feet from the road, this is a rare kind of privacy—quiet, uninterrupted, and deeply restorative.

THE EXPERIENCE
This is not just a place to stay—it’s a place to be.
Mornings begin with coffee on the porch, suspended over the water. Days unfold slowly—swimming from your private patio built into the lake, drifting out by kayak or canoe, or simply reading in the sun. Evenings are for firelight, records spinning, and skies full of stars.

You’ll have exclusive use of your own waterfront area, including:
- Private lakefront access with deep water entry
- Kayaks, canoe, and lake floats
- Barrel sauna just steps from the lake
- A lakeside patio set directly into the water
- Fire pit for evenings under the stars

THE COTTAGES
The rental includes two separate waterfront cottages, just steps apart:
1. The Tea House (red cottage) — your gathering space for cooking, dining, lounging, music, and games
2. The Boathouse (white cottage) — bedrooms and bathroom, designed for rest and quiet

Both sit directly on the lake, connected by a short walk (under 100 feet), creating a sense of space while still feeling intimate and connected.

Rates are based on two guests. The Boathouse accommodates up to four guests total (two beds), with an additional fee per person.

THE SETTING
Blenheim Park is home to Maine’s largest cherry orchard, with over 200 sour cherry trees and a growing collection of ornamental cherry blossoms. While the orchard itself is not open for general touring outside of scheduled events, its presence shapes the landscape—open skies, curated plantings, and a sense of quiet intention throughout the property.

With over 1,800 feet of private lakefront, your stay offers a rare combination of natural beauty and thoughtful design—close to everything, yet entirely removed.

Spend your days exploring the Midcoast—oyster shacks, coastal drives, and local shops—or never leave at all.

A NOTE ON PRIVACY
We live on the property, a few hundred feet away, and are always available if needed—but equally mindful of giving you complete space. Most guests remark that it feels as though they have the entire place to themselves.

GOOD TO KNOW
- Absolute waterfront with deep water entry — not suitable for non-swimmers or young children
- Fishing requires a Maine license (easily obtained online)
- Minimum stays apply during peak season
- Enhanced cleaning protocols between guests

About the host

Hi,
We are Kerry and Justin, photographers and business execs, who recently escaped Brooklyn for the beauty of Maine and Connecticut. We love great food and fancy cocktails and feel that Mid Coast Maine offers the best of everywhere we've each lived (including San Francisco, New York, Pennsylvania, Lake Tahoe, Byron Bay and Sydney). Here we've found a friendly happy community, a strong art scene, distilleries and vineyards, true foodie destinations, and scenery so lovely you'll be dreaming of it long after you leave.

We settled into Blenheim Park, our dream home, in January 2017, and knew immediately it was too lovely to keep to ourselves. Come and enjoy it with us!

Why they chose this property

Blenheim Park is a stunning 16 acre estate that was lovingly transformed into an estate over a 40 year period by the previous owner. Long time fans of the beauty of Maine and the warmth of its people, we watched this property online from our home in Brooklyn for a year, and finally inspected it during a trip to volunteer at a Maine summer camp for bereaved children.

We fell in love and immediately set about selling our Brooklyn properties to make the move North. It's truly our dream property and we're excited to share it with guests during the warmer months.

What makes this property unique

- We are absolute lakefront with deep water. Property is not be suitable for young children who cannot swim.

Lovely under snow, blooming in Spring, refreshing in Summer and vibrant in Fall, there's not a season that doesn't shine at Blenheim Park.
