This unit was in a perfect location for our family vacation. It was close to all the fun things to do in Gulf Shores, but the last condo along the beach so it wasn't too crowded. The condo was clean and offered plenty of space for the 7 of us to rest and relax.
Great location for two reasons. This is very close to everything in gulf shores, and it is the last condo on the beach before Gulf State Park when heading east from Gulf Shores so even if the beach is crowed in front of the condo, all of the State Park beach is there to use.
Great location, rather sparsely furnished, but clean and safe. Did not sleep eight comfortably, so we moved two to our other condo. But very comfortable for six.
I would stay there again.
The room was great. I loved seeing the great view of the ocean from the living room. The distance from the boardwalk to the beach was short.
The condo is also in a great location. Many restaurants close by and Walmart is not too far.
Absolutely enjoyed staying at this condo. Everything you needed was there and plenty of room. Clean and loved the way they cared for the condo. We will definitely stay at Palms Royal. And refer others.
We lucked out on the weather. Swam every day. Place was great for 4 adults. Plenty of everything we needed. Guest room TV was on the fritz and although they said they'd come and check it, no one ever came. Not a huge deal for us though. We really enjoyed and would return to both the building and the unit.
Location and building are great. This unit is a typical rental. Beds sleep great. Decor is good, not over done. The appliances are older but functional. The living room furniture and dining table need an upgrade. Having 4 dining chairs is really needed.

condo needs updating
condo needs to be updated and deep cleaned, painted, etc. very poor.
Perfect beachfront location, close to many amenities and restaurants. We enjoyed the ease of going to the beach and utilized the pool daily.
The condo itself was comfortable and everyone slept well. There were plenty of plates, cups and bowls. We cooked most of our meals in the condo and didn't have any issue. As another review said, the appliances are aging, but they still work fine.
We will definitely be back and would not hesitant to rent this condo again. I will be recommending it to family and friends.
Nice clean property, felt safe, people were friendly. Right next to Gulf Shores State Park which we liked. Have to drive everywhere though with exception of 2 restaurants right on the beach.Beautiful ocean view and white sand. Love walking the beach and hearing the ocean waves, also enjoyed sitting around property outside too on the beach side and east side is outdoor pool. Good fish and seafood meals at restaurants with all the southern style fixings. Unfortunately we had 60s temps and mostly cloudy skies so bummer on that. Can never resist the ocean though! And always nice to get away
We enjoyed our stay at Royal Palms. The location was very nice not over busy. Short distance to the beach. Condo had an exceptional amount of room for storage. The only downfalls were entry to the condo. The key lock was difficult to operate. Takes several try’s before entering. Sofa could be a little more comfortable and the bunk beds need thicker mattresses. Other than that it was a lovely stay.
The place was great but there were no outdoor bathrooms. So whether you are at the indoor pool, outdoor pool, or beach, you have to go back to your condo. Also my bathroom faucet dripped nonstop. But wasn’t a fast drip. The tubs needed to be drained some too. But the condo was super clean. The access to the beach was excellent. The whole place was clean and secure. Overall a great stay!
The condo could use an upgrade of furniture, there were no table out on the deck, the bathrooms need a good cleaning in the corners and under cabinets at floor level. The master bedroom need a light in the closet. Cannot adjust the temperature enough it was way too cold for us. I would adjust it to 76 but it would return back a few hours later. However I would return.
We always prefer this general area of the beach. Have stayed in several different units within this complex. This was a nice unit. The pantry and several closets/storage areas within this unit were very helpful. We didn’t feel like we were all crawling over our stuff or stashing all the groceries on a counter or on top of the fridge. The beds were comfortable. The dining table only had 2 chairs, although there are bar stools at the counter. We would have preferred more chairs at the table. The balcony furniture consisted of 2 rusted tables, 2 folding chairs, one broken/rusted patio chair, and one Adirondack chair that was in good shape. Hopefully, the balcony furniture will be updated/replaced in the near future.
The Gulf Shores Beach area is absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately , this is by far the most disappointing VRBO condominium experience we’ve ever had. The layout of the condominium was nice, but the owner has failed to maintain an acceptable condition. Ceiling and wall paint was chipping excessively, limited furniture, and that which was there was outdated and uncomfortable. Very outdated appliances. An old refrigerator which had been painted, but all the paint was chipping off. The code provided for the fitness room did not work. We did not receive a parking pass as guaranteed when we got there so we had to work through security. This property has tremendous potential but the most disappointing experience we have ever had. We paid about four times what the experience was worth.

So close to perfect!!
The property seemed larger in the pictures. Bunkbeds are in the hall/kitchen so no way kids are going to bed early & adults must be quiet, or sit outside in the AM, to avoid waking them. The place was clean “ish”. My granddaughter got in the top bunk on the first day and it was full of sand. Sand was all over the floor. I realize it’s in the beach but it seemed it wasn’t swept, which made me wonder about the cleanliness of everything else. The only other complaint is, considering the cost to rent, the furniture seems like it could be better, both inside & out. Also, my daughter & her husband slept in the second bedroom & could feel the springs. This is a great location & with a little TLC, could be an awesome place. We will try to stay in the condo again, but not this unit.

Less than desirable
The room was hot. The owner had paint stored in the pantry and bar stools stored in the closet limiting the space we had to put our clothes. The limited closet space wouldn’t have been that bad if dressers were available. When we arrived we placed our grand baby in a walker ( she wasn’t wearing socks). Once we got situated we noticed her feet and toes were filthy from the floor. The condo was poorly furnished with what appeared to be metal lawn chairs For the kitchen table. They were definitely uncomfortable. The location of the condo was located away from everything which we didn’t mind at all. The condo was stocked with any kitchen utensils and pots you would need.
