We really enjoyed our stay in this cozy house. It is a full-blown house, not a cabin. The amenities were ample and had most everything we needed. The coziness was very attractive for us and the host was very accommodating. This Home is obviously a Home from a generation ago. All of the decor and the amenities date back probably to the 70s and 80s. From the wood paneling on the walls, to the record collection, which was quite nice, walking into the house is like walking into a time capsule. The cookware, the dishes, the decor on the walls, everything reminded me of grandma‘s house. We had everything we needed, but we were living in another era when we were inside this house. And for us, that was welcoming. We enjoyed the step back in time. Outside, the sound of the river behind the house was like a dream. We had gotten some rain during our stay and the river was blasting from the hills upstream. It was beautiful. The neighbors were not present, so the neighborhood was very quiet. The house to the north was a good distance away, and the house next-door to the south although close by, had no one present. Overall, this was a very nice, pleasant stay and I would definitely go back when and if we are in the area. The drive along Vallecito was beautiful, although the reservoir was very low from the recent drought. This was a great place to stay. Thank you to the host for making us feel so welcome. We were inspired by the record player and will be getting our own soon.

This was the best furnished place we have stayed at. Very comfortable cabin with everything you could possibly need. Loved hearing the water flow from the creek. Husband enjoyed being able to walk down and fish. Also great to have the trail head one house down. We had some rainy evenings , but they were quite enjoyable on the porch. Also being large dog friendly is a bonus , since most are only for 20 or 50 lbs. They loved it too

Cozy cabin with plenty of room and 4 adults and 4 kids. We loved all the decorations, books and games. It really felt like a wonderful home away from home. You could hear the creek all night with the windows open, closed it was quiet. Beds were very comfortable too. We brought our dog and she enjoyed all the outdoor space and playing in the creek. Let's of wonderful wildlife, fresh air, and best of all, it's towards the end of the road, so hardly any traffic. What great getaway and we can't wait for next time! Thank you for the amazing experience!

Peaceful Retreat

Peace On The River’s Edge

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Best Fourth of July ever. The cabin is comfy and homey. The porch was fun to read on... and the river was incredible. Hearing the river while going to sleep was definitely my highlight, but there were a lot of other perks. While I am very prone to be attacked by mosquitos, with some good spray I faired quite well. The beautiful hiking straight from the cabin doors up the mountain, fishing at the lake, burrito at the gas station and live music at the restaurant. Bring someone special, some hiking boots, a good book, and your fishing pole.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

It is situated in such a quiet and serene location near the river. It has a well stocked kitchen with everything you need to prep food. Right out the door we found some of the best hiking trails and wilderness to explore. The kids loved being able to be free and fish so close to where we were staying and they had a blast with the ping pong table! This spot really is perfect for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Beds were comfortable and host was responsive and helpful! This was right up our alley and we will definitely stay here again!

Our family had a great time playing in the creek, playing ping pong, fishing and playing games. There were plenty of pots, pans and even more we didn’t use but could have. Short walk to the Vallecito Creek Trail and easy drive to the lake, Bayfield and Durango. We had a great time at the house!!!

Great place to stay, had a wonderful time. Quiet neighborhood, loved the sound of river at night. Family loved the area, not to far from Vallecito reservoir. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and utensils, host was very responsive when I had questions.
