We loved the location and the charm of the cabin. It was close to the Highland Games and easy to drive to. The house was comfortable and met all our needs. I will definitely plan to stay at Jonas Ridge again. Gary
Communication was great and the property did not disappoint. From the indoor fireplace, outdoor gas fire pit on the deck and awesome views ,this property is superb. Everything we needed was available, from plastic cups, coffee mugs and even a bowl to chill wine. We would definitely visit the Yona cottage again.
We had a fantastic stay here. Everything was incredibly clean, check-in was seamless, the location was perfect. We were very fond of the decks, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, and the views in the morning, afternoon, and evening were beautiful. And the STARS at night - wow. I'm a big fan of the attention to detail in the cabin, like the cookware, dishes, little bowls for jewelry, stain glass windows, and those tall ceilings. With the board games provided we had a lot of fun, we even got to use the telescope in the cabin at night.Krista was really helpful with recommendations, we felt super comfortable reaching out about any doubts before going on the trip but while we were there we didn't need a single thing. We didn't get around to hiking, but just walking around was lovley. We have to come back in the fall. Thank you for an unforgettable few days.
Five moms who needed a girls' weekend enjoyed this cabin immensely! It was so beautiful, clean, and well stocked with everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable and we all slept so well. There were treats left for us which was such a nice touch! But the best part? That porch. We spent all our time hanging out in the mountain air during the day doing puzzles and reading books (great selections, by the way!) and at night we stared up at the stars which were in abundance in such a secluded-feeling area. Cannot wait to go back! What a relaxing, fun weekend. The perfect place!
This cabin was the nicest VRBO we have stayed at! The location offers many opportunities for activities and the cabin is the perfect peaceful resting place. We will be back!!
What a perfect cabin! Great location for so many different activities. We chose the wineries since some of the trails were still closed. Cabin is just as is advertised but with so many additional extras! Our golden retriever loved the place too! Will definitely be back up to stay here again!!
The most amazing rental property we have ever stayed in! Fully-equipped, clean, comfortable home in a secluded peaceful setting. Krista is a gracious host and provided personal touches that made our stay extra special! Bonus that this is a dog-friendly home so our puppers could join us on our adventure! Highly recommend Yona Ridge for a relaxing stay close to all that the NC mountains have to offer!
This host truly thought of everything!! Exceptionally clean! If I forgot something (which I did) I just had to look and it was there! The host saved our hike by providing the water bottles and backpack we had forgotten. Super pet-friendly even for my larger dog. Quiet and peaceful our entire stay! Warm days and cold nights and it was easy to keep the home a comfortable temperature. I am a pillow snob and the bed was lovely. We slept so well. Night lights around the inside of house helped with navigating once hubby was asleep. Best of all… in all our years of vacation homes, this was the first shower that ever perfectly fit my 6’6” husband. And great water pressure throughout the house. Both the house and host are amazing! We will definitely be back!
Yona Ridge was perfect in every way! Location was ideal for amazing hikes within a 10-15min drive (we did Jonas Ridge to Hawksbill one day, and Linville Falls the next). The house was conveniently close to a major road but still felt very private and secluded. Rooms were spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, and we had everything we needed. Lots of thoughtful details everywhere! We spent so much time on the decks and kids enjoyed exploring the little yard. Definitely planning to come back!
Yona Ridge Cabin was the PERFECT place for my husband and I to recharge after dropping our son off at App State for his sophomore year. It’s just far enough away from the crowded streets of Boone to enjoy the serene peace, and close enough to pop back over and participate in college family events. Every detail is well thought out…dog treats, water and food bowls, books about the area, and a kitchen any home chef would enjoy cooking in. The cabin was extremely clean, inviting and comfortable. The deck was usable at all hours and our favorite spot. I can’t recommend this rental enough!
Wow!! Yona Ridge Cabin did NOT disappoint! This is the most amazing rental we have ever stayed in. It was amazingly clean, very comfortable and was fully-equipped with everything you could possibly need. It was also dog friendly which was a must for us. Our Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Max, is our "child" and we LOVED that we were able to take him with us. The location of the cabin and the peaceful, beautiful setting were perfect. It was very quiet and secluded but yet only a 10-15 minute drive to amazing hikes. We did Linville Falls, Sitting Bear and also found some "off the beaten path" trails on our own while just exploring. We also enjoyed walking the peaceful gravel roads of the neighborhood at least twice a day. We spent a lot of time at the cabin, enjoying the many decks and stunning views. It was just what we needed to relax and recharge. The kitchen was also amazing and so enjoyable to cook in. It was fully-equipped with new appliances and stocked with anything and everything we needed. We could not have asked for a better host! Krista was absolutely amazing. She checked on us throughout our stay and offered so many great recommendations of things to do and see! She also provided so many personal touches throughout the cabin that made our stay spectacular!! There was no detail that she did not think of! We HIGHLY recommend Yona Ridge Cabin for your NC mountain getaway! We are already planning our next trip!!
Absolutely amazing! The home was everything a vacation home should be! Everything you need to enjoy a weekend with family. Spectacular deck that has an unbelievable view along with an outdoor fire-pit , grill, table and plenty of chairs to enjoy a perfect night. The home was spacious with comfortable beds, great showers, board games and plenty of seating. Private yet close to small towns and restaurants. It’s actually perfect and makes you feel special and right at home. Loved it. Dog friendly is an understatement dog bowls, treats, and kennels were all available ! Our family will be back !!!
Wonderful home. Well appointed and very comfortable. Krista thought of everything-water bottles, backpacks, lots of porches and chairs for enjoying the crisp mounts air! Would definitely go back!Susan Stewart

Our family LOVES the NC mountains, and we are excited to share this very special place with you! We hope you enjoy the MANY different hikes within minutes from the cabin, and the solitude that offers quiet reflection. We are dog friendly because we couldn't imagine hiking without our two fluffy Golden Retrievers

We choose Gingercake Acres because of it's location, adjacent to the Linville Gorge Wilderness, the adventures are limitless! Even if a big hike isn't in the plans, walking the neighborhood gravel roads beautifully lined with native plants brings such calm!
What makes this property unique
Our cabin was built with all reclaimed wood and wood harvested from our property. It has very unique interior features AND the two wrap around decks with views of Long Arm Mountain are spectacular!
