We really enjoyed staying in the treetop nest in the Sun Kissed getaway. The hosts were excellent! The busy road was a little close and we could hear the road traffic, but the location in the trees was remarkable! We would highly recommend this place and we would be happy to come back and stay again anytime!

We are so glad you enjoyed our space. It’s true that we live off of a rural highway that has normal traffic and the occasional truck hauling horses. Road noise is real, but usually limited to regular traffic hours. That information is stated in our ad and it’s disappointing that we received a poor review due to circumstances out of our control.
We stayed here on our final night on the Big Island after a two week trip. We needed to be a reasonable driving distance from the airport but still rural- Hawi fit the bill. We loved this very comfy and cozy little spot.

Thank you so much! We are glad you enjoyed your stay!
My host was a gem! The place was very clean and appointed with cotton bed, linens and towels. It was cozy and comfortable, and felt like a respite from the busy days before. And her husband is quite the artist. The place was decorated with his unique pieces.

I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the Ohana. It was wonderful meeting you and hope to see you next time you are on island.
The state was very quiet and soothing! Would highly recommend staying here to see the north side of the big island! It was my third trip and I wish I would’ve stayed here before. You are close to food, gas, and other needs. There are three different lookouts over the pacific for wonderful sunset views as well only about 10 to 15 minutes away. Great hosts, will stay here again for sure.

Great photos! We look forward to hosting you again!
Very comfortable and clean! Surrounded by lush jungle. Between the jungle rain, cozy bed and frogs, I slept like a baby . Thank you for a lovely stay!!
We really enjoyed our stay. It is very clean and accommodating. Great location for going all places on the north end of the island and into Kona. Good walking in the neighborhood. Cooler at night and comfortable. It is peaceful, only had some road noise during the day. The hosts were very nice, good communication. They have a dog but we hardly heard it. We didn’t hear any chickens either. Highly recommended.

We are so glad you like our spot! I agree, the walk around the neighborhood is so nice and calming.
Ashtin and Brian welcomed us warmly, with useful local information. They checked in with us to be sure we had everything we needed, and were generous with some longer conversations about their life on the island. They also invited us to a gallery opening for a juried show, where Brian had a painting exhibited, and he shared unexpected, interesting insights about his process. The amenities are also first-rate. The space was spotless and thoughtfully furnished. The only slight drawback was that it's on a main road and there's some traffic noise, especially during drive time, but it quieted down at night and we slept well. We had a private patio overlooking their lovely garden, with table and chairs and a little sofa. The space is decorated with Brian's paintings, and there are games, and also books about the area. Highly recommend.
We absolutely love this cute upstairs unit with lots of windows and light and had a pleasant stay -- thank you! The owner is very kind and thoughtful, and put everything you need for a comfortable stay including books, chairs and daybed for reading, coffeemaker, microwave, toaster, kettle, chopping board and eating utensils. It overlooks treetops out of every direction so the vibe is very chill and peaceful BUT YOU MUST KNOW that the house is located on the road to Hawi so there is traffic sounds throughout the day. Most of the time it's the hum of cars that you tune out but occasionally you get the speeding car and big truck that disrupts the calm. The owner's beautiful artworks adorn the entire apartment which adds to the cottage charm.

We are so glad you enjoyed the Ohana and found everything you needed for a comfortable stay! Yes, we do boarder mountain road and most of the time it is, as you said, normal car noise with the occasional loud truck or motorcycle. Unfortunately, Labor Day weekend brings more traffic, including motorcycle riding clubs.
Great attention to details. Very confortable place, with confortable bed and linen. The host are very kind and attentive, discreet and available at the same time. The little kitchen was perfect for our needs.

Originally from Utah, I’ve been living in Hawaii for 17 years. I enjoy the beauty of the island with its slow pace, lush forests and sunny days.
Why they chose this property
The house is situated off Kohala Mountain road, nestled in Kukui nut trees. The neighborhood is mostly farmland with cows, horses and goats, wild turkey and pigs nearby.
What makes this property unique
Our place is great for settling in or as a home base for the adventurer. We are 25 minutes to Hapuna beach, but there is ocean access within 10.
