Quiet. Restful. Lovely.
At least in April, Lummi Island is remarkable for its silence. We heard birds, and an aircraft far away, and the occasional crinkly sound of the tires of slow moving “traffic.”One thing important for guests to note: The charming ferry can hold about 16 cars or one semi. Islanders leave in the morning 6-9-ish (I think to go to work, the sad souls) and return 4-6 ish. Those are busy ferry times. If you need to be someplace, get it the ferry line early. And please shut off your motor while you wait to protect nearby residences from excess exhaust fumes, and so you can hear the birds. The description of this property is a bit low-key relative to the beauty of the place. Mt. Baker. Glorious sunrises, and 10 minutes away a place to view the sunsets as well. Nice yard, beautiful trees, and a sense of seclusion. My ratings are accurate about our stay. I don’t take them lightly. We had great interactions with our host beforehand, and also with the housekeeper, who served us well.
