PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS LISTING! We booked this stay on Feb 18 for a June 2 check in for two nights - money paid etc... Never heard anything more (my mistake for not re-verifying before our trip). Show up at the property and follow the instructions from the "owner Laura Axelson" on how to check in. They have no record of my name or the "owners Laura Axelson" name. Call both phone numbers listed on the reservation which go to "Vacations Simplified" and a "we'll return your call within 24 hours". Leave both voice and text messages. Call VRBO and spent the next 90 mins on the phone with them trying to figure out what is wrong. They tell me to go back to the front desk so they can speak to them - this time its a different front desk person. They are able to see that the owner cancelled the reservation on April 19 - no message, no refund, nothing. VRBO tries to rebook the same unit but has trouble doing that so we go searching for another place to stay - luckily finding a place nearby. For the record - VRBO did issue a refund of their fees and Vacations Simplified did issue a full refund along with some worthless "coupons" to other places they must manage, but nothing really helpful. To rub salt in the wound - for the next 3 days VS sends me messages "how is your stay", "hope you're having a great trip" etc... Apparently according to the front desk, owners are not allowed to sublet their units and they guessed the Laura Axelson got caught. #TLDR: avoid this unit like the plague!
