Absolutely LOVED this place. A few minutes out of town. The house was so cute. Love having a cold plunge & hot tub after a long day of hiking. The WiFi went down & they came out & fixed it that day. Check in was easy. Definitely coming back & would book my stay here again.

We’re so glad Whispering Waters Retreat gave you a cozy place to unwind after exploring the trails. The contrast of a refreshing plunge and a relaxing soak is part of what makes coming back from a day outdoors feel special. We’re happy our team could get the Wi-Fi back up promptly, and we’d love to welcome you again for another mountain getaway.

Beautiful space, feels like you are in a tree house. It's close to the main road, but still very quiet. We loved our stay and had everything we needed.

Lots of cob webs outside of house. Close to main road. Inside was nice. Kids enjoyed.

Thanks for your feedback about Whispering Waters Retreat. We're glad the interior met your needs and that the kids had a fun stay — that relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere is what we aim for. We appreciate the note about cobwebs outside and the location next to the main road; we will schedule extra exterior cleaning and review our maintenance and listing details so future guests have clear expectations. We hope to host you again.

For a more enjoyable stay I do recommend making the home a bit more “homey”. Perhaps adding coffee pods/ tea bags for guests to make themselves a cup of morning coffee and enjoy the outdoor deck. In addition it seems like the home could use a good deep clean. While the home wasn’t “dirty” we did notice quite a bit of dust, spider webs and dust bunnies throughout. It’s a beautiful property and think adding some small details would make the stay much more enjoyable! Internet connection was also not the best. We found ourselves having to reset the router quite a few times to even stream Netflix…

Wonderful place to stay that is close to the ocean, a wildlife refuge with amazing views, and a small town that has a small grocery store and restaurants with delicious food. Pelican Brewery is a must visit also after spending the day climbing the giant sand dune and exploring the tide pools. The house has a small workout room with a cold plunge and hot tub just outside the workout room. We really enjoyed our stay, grilling burgers and ribeyes on the grill and watching movies in the evening. We will be back next year!

Thank you for choosing Whispering Waters Retreat and for this wonderful review. We're so pleased the location — the ocean, wildlife refuge, nearby town and Pelican Brewery — made for memorable days of dune climbs and tide-pooling. It’s great the workout room, cold plunge, and hot tub enhanced your stay, and that grilling and movie nights rounded out your visit. The whole team looks forward to welcoming you back next year!

The home was beautifully appointed, well laid out, and had great amenities! The hot tub was a great addition, super clean and ready to use. The host was very communicative, and accessing the home couldn’t have been easier. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Renters beware!!!!This is not a peaceful, serene, wellness retreat space.Upon arrival, the exterior of the property smelled absolutely terrible. We finally realized it was the outside trash bin that had not been emptied in weeks. It was full of maggots, ants, and flying bugs. We contacted the host immediately, who said they would get it taken care of right away. We were there for five days and the trash was never picked up.The listing does not mention that this property sits on the edge of an extremely busy highway, so there is the constant sound of traffic all day and all night.None of the bedrooms have ceiling fans, which make them incredibly hot and stuffy. If you open the windows, you get a nice breeze, but because you can hear traffic all night long, it is very difficult to sleep. The sauna did not work, the exercise bike was assembled improperly, and therefore unusable, and the “canal” is only present for a very short time each day. For the most part, it is a smelly mud bog. This property is absolutely not as described. We spent an incredibly frustrating amount of time trying to get help on the things that were broken and had no resolution during the five days we were there nor after we checked out. There are some parts of the home that are really pretty, but those were unfortunately overshadowed by all of the things in disrepair. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, wellness-focused retreat space (which we were) this is not the property for you.

Alyssa, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry the property fell short of the peaceful, wellness-focused retreat you were hoping for, particularly with the outdoor trash situation and the amenities that weren’t functioning as expected. Our team confirmed during your stay that the trash would be collected, and a repair vendor was scheduled for the sauna, though the repair could not be completed before your departure. We also regret the frustration caused by the bike and garage remote, as well as the difficulty of enjoying a restful stay with the nearby traffic. We appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention and are sorry we weren’t able to provide a more relaxing experience.

We stayed last weekend, a group of 5 women gathering for a ladies weekend. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but we had some serious reservations about the house and wanted to warn future guests about what to expect.Pros: Comfortable living room furniture, clean, spacious main room, lovely views out the back windows, well-stocked kitchen.Cons: It's on a busy road. The view out the kitchen window is of a derelict RV. The sauna did not work at all, and when we called to get help, it seemed like an AI auto-reply. They never contacted us as was promised. The gym and sauna are in the basement which had a bad odor. The hot tub and cold plunge did function after some guesswork (no instructions.) At the kitchen sink there was some sort of automatic faucet but there were no instructions and it often didn't work. Very frustrating. There was a very bad gas smell when we turned on the oven. The furniture and linens in the bedrooms were abysmal. The bunk beds were rickety and we ended up putting that mattress on the floor. The linens were stained in all bedrooms. The bed pillows were upholstery cushions and scratchy and uncomfortable. There were no lamps in the entire house. There was no decor except some cheap plastic plants that were breaking. It seems a corporate entity wedged in a new house on a narrow bit of property and left it half furnished and wholly unattended. If this were less expensive one might overlook a few things, but not at a premium price.

This property was just okay - it was a new, cheaply constructed building. There was a stair that wobbled, sink faucet didn’t attach to the countertop, clogged sink drain, some ants in the kitchen, & stains on some of the linens/duvet. Everything was washed, but it needed replaced. The workout room & sauna had a smell that we tried to air out but it never went away so we didn’t use it. Additionally, the location is on a busy street and next to a property that isn’t well taken care of. Due to the busy street, sitting outside on the porch isn’t as relaxing as the photos make it seem. The porch also had a lot of cobwebs. While there is a garage, there is no garage door opener provided so you have to do this manually and leave through the front door. The pluses are the AC/heating worked well & bed was comfortable. Since it’s run by a property management company rather than an owner, it felt very impersonal, required extensive paperwork upon booking, and felt like a sterile space. I even saw one of the fake plants still had a tag on it. Checkout is firmly 10am and we had someone enter the home around 9:40 thinking we were not there. Overall, it’s fine but not really worth the price in my opinion.
