About this property

River-View A-Frame | Hot Tub + Fenced Yard + PingPong + Fire Pit + PlaySet

Perched above the Ararat River, just 2.5 miles from Main Street, this completely rebuilt storybook A-frame makes it easy to relax, reconnect, and play. Follow our private path down to the river to skip stones, wade, fish, or sit awhile. Back at the house, the Lookout Fort, covered ping pong, outdoor dining, fire pit, and hot tub are all close together within the fully fenced backyard. Everyone can enjoy the day their own way and still be part of the laughter, conversation, and shared moments.

💫 The Highlights — Why Guests Love It

River Retreat was designed around the moments that tend to become the memories people carry home with them later. Family game tournaments. One more round of ping pong. Dinner stretching a little longer around the island. Kids disappearing into play while everyone somehow stays connected.

🏠 Inside

The heart of River Retreat lives where the kitchen, dining, and living spaces all come together beneath soaring A-frame windows and river views beyond them. Someone's making coffee. Someone's halfway through a puzzle at the island. Kids are running in from outside to announce something important that probably isn't actually important at all. Dinner turns into conversation. Conversation turns into another hour at the table. The layout keeps everyone connected while still giving people room to breathe.

🛏 Where You'll Sleep

Everything at River Retreat was designed to keep families connected while giving everyone a comfortable place to land at the end of the day.

🌲 Outside

The backyard was designed around the kind of memories that don't usually make it onto itineraries.

Kids disappear toward the Lookout Fort. Someone starts a ping pong tournament. Someone sneaks into the hot tub early. The grill gets going. The fire pit gets lit.

And somehow everyone stays within shouting distance of each other.

A steep private 400' concrete path leads down to the Ararat River where the pace changes a little. Skip stones. Wade in the water. Fish. Sit for a while and do absolutely nothing.

By evening, most guests somehow end up back together again.

👋 Meet Beata

Hi — I'm Beata.

I designed River Retreat around something I understand really well: slowing down doesn't mean doing nothing.

I wanted a place where kids could disappear into play, adults could remember they're still allowed to have fun too, and the person planning the trip could stop carrying everyone else's experience for a little while.

Because years later, people rarely remember the itinerary.

They remember the moments.

I personally manage every reservation because hospitality matters deeply to me. Small things are automated for speed so nothing waits. Anything important comes directly from me.

Our Pay-It-Forward pantry works the same way this house does: take what you need, leave what you can.

Happy to have you.
— Beata

About the host

Hosted by Beata Lorinc

Host profile image
Hi — I'm Beata.

I'm a professional host, Penn State alum, mom to two boys (born in 2006 and 2009), and someone who genuinely believes places can shape experiences.

My family is originally from Poland — yes, I speak Polish — and over the years we've lived in multiple states and even a few different countries. One thing I've learned along the way is that some of the moments people remember most are rarely the big planned moments.

They're usually the little things.

Kids laughing somewhere in the background. A late-night conversation around a fire. Coffee before everyone else wakes up.

I think that's probably one of the reasons I care so much about hospitality now.

Why they chose this property

River Retreat exists because I wanted to create a place where slowing down didn't mean doing nothing.

I wanted kids to have built-in adventure. Adults to remember they're still allowed to play too. And I wanted the person planning the trip to finally stop carrying everyone else's experience for a little while.

The Lookout Fort, the oversized island, the fenced backyard, the river access — none of it was random.

I wanted a place where people naturally gathered, naturally played, and naturally made memories together without needing a packed itinerary.

What makes this property unique

River Retreat packs a surprising amount into one property without ever feeling overwhelming.

The backyard becomes its own little world — hot tub, ping pong, swings, fire pit, and the Lookout Fort all within steps of each other. Kids can disappear into play while still staying close enough for everyone to feel connected.

Inside, the oversized island tends to become the unofficial gathering spot for coffee, meals, games, puzzles, and conversations that somehow last longer than expected.

You'll also receive access to our digital guest guide after booking with local recommendations, house details, and everything you'll need for an easy arrival.

Small things are automated for speed. Anything important comes directly from me.
