Not only is this a beautiful home, the owners go above and beyond to make sure that their guests have everything they need to enjoy their stay. I don't want to ruin any surprises, so I will simply say that their little touches of welcome exceed expectations! Whether it was a box of tissues, a throw blanket, a water bottle at the side of a bed, it all added up to making me feel like I was being pampered but also had the necessities of home.If you are a light sleeper, you may need a night to adjust to the cars going by or the clip clop of the horses. Unfamiliar place, unfamiliar sounds!Look no further, you found the perfect place for your getaway. We plan to return to explore the area...we stayed for our son's graduation from PSU so we couldn't venture much.

Susan, thank you so much for this incredibly thoughtful review! We loved hosting you during such a special weekend celebrating your son’s graduation from PSU! Congratulations! Thank you for mentioning both the special touches and also the adjustments to the sounds of country life for future guests — we do provide small sound machines in each room to hopefully help soften those sounds for guests who may be sensitive! We’d absolutely love to welcome you back someday! 💗

This was one of the most relaxing weekends. There were 6 of us getting together to make cards and crafts. We set up shop and crafted all weekend. We really enjoyed the fully stocked coffee/ tea bar. Shopped at the local country stores and enjoyed local Donuts, bread and baked goods. The home is beautifully decorated. It was very clean, comfortable and cozy. We all agreed we could’ve stayed another day just to relax and enjoy the calm atmosphere of Allensville. The weather did not cooperate this time, but we will be returning and hopefully will be able to utilize the patio and fire pit. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. Our 2 families stayed together as we were visiting the area for a wedding. The home was spacious and for us all well. From the very start, Lou’s attention to detail was amazing. When we arrived, the home was well stocked, clean and had clearly been readied for us. There were welcoming treats and a note on the counter. The coffee station was well equipped and laid out beautifully. After long travel and busy days, it was the perfect place to rest, with a relaxing atmosphere and comfortable beds. We were able to spend an evening around the fire pit. There is some traffic on the road (both cars and buggies) but there were tiny sound machines in every bedroom for anyone sensitive to noise. Sitting out front and seeing the horse and carriage pass by was a very cool experience for the adults and the kids. I wish we had more time to better explore the area and learn about the culture. When I asked for recommendations, the hosts quickly responded with several, already prepared. The kids really enjoyed Penn’s cave. We walked to Allensville donuts and they were the best donuts you could imagine! Greenwood furnace state park was lovely and we enjoyed celebrating the wedding there. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I have already recommended this home to others. If you are considering a stay, you will not be disappointed!
