Authentic Mountain Log Cabin Perched On A Cliff Side Above The Shenandoah River

Enjoy a spectacular view of the Shenandoah River and the Massanutten mountains from the brick patio or the new wooden deck. The large great room has an open ceiling is furnished with large flat screen TV, leather sofa and matching love seat surrounding a beautiful wood burning stone fireplace and a small dining area with a view of the river. The cabin has two bedrooms. The primary has a king size bed with two sliding glass doors which open to spectacular view of the river and mountains. The room also has a flat screen TV about a gas lock fireplace. The second bedroom has a queen size bed. A fully equipped kitchen including microwave, dishwasher, toaster, and coffee maker allow for 'dining in'. Has a shower only, not tub. This cabin does not have direct boat access from the property, but there is a public boat landing 2 miles from the cabin. Cozy cabin is located on a gated private gravel driveway which is 7 miles from Front Royal, VA. The cabin is three miles from the Shenandoah State Park and five miles from the northern entrance of the Skyline Drive of the Shenandoah National Park. Many of our guests enjoy local hiking, fishing, canoeing, and mountain biking and wine tasting at one of the thirty wineries within 30 miles of the cabin. Your home away from home – The perfect retreat! Firewood provided from Sept 1 to April 1 for a fire for each night of your stay. • Week rentals can not be Saturday to Saturday• Three night minimum for following holiday weekends: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years• Two night minimum for all other stays• DOG FRIENDLY ONLY- $75.00/dog/stay. Additional details will be provided upon reservation: Please note, outside camping is not allowed without written approval from the property manager• Maximum number of overnight guests on the property is 4 people. Our cabin is in the woods and you may encounter many types of wildlife and insects during your visit. We will not refund any payment due to these encounters outside or inside the cabin. Our cabin is serviced on a regular basis by an exterminator. If you are uncomfortable with this situation and choose to cancel your reservation upon the receipt of this notice, a full refund will be made. There is a public boat landing, Gooney Creek, which is 2 miles from the cabin and the Shenandoah River State which is 3 miles from the cabin entrance.

Wonderful rustic and authentic cabin with beautiful views of the Shenandoah River. wild turkeys wandered through the front yard and Bald Eagles and Herons soaring out back. Wineries and hiking nearby. Well-equipped kitchen.

This was absolutely beautiful!!! We will definitely be back. The scenery was amazing. Cabin was very charming, inside and out. The only things that would be an improvement is if the driveway by the main road was a little more even (I’m glad I didn’t have my car on the trip because it may have been rough getting up there) and if there was a little dock with a kayak or 2. That would be a bonus!!

Enjoyed a weekend getaway to Front Royal for some hiking and river fun and Cozy Cabin did not disappoint. The views from the deck were amazing, and the furniture made sitting outside and enjoying nature easy and comfortable. I would definitely visit and stay here again.

This cabin was so comfortable and cozy. It was just as described and easy to find. The maps once inside the gate were well marked and check in was easy. We used the kitchen a lot and found everything we needed there. Pictures really don't do this place justice. They views were beautiful and the cabin itself was rustic with a modern bathroom. We did navigate the trail along the cliff down to the river one day to swim for a bit. It was tough, but doable. That little hike was one of our favorite parts. Thanks for a great stay!

John is an awesome host. He was there for me every step of the way. The cabin is beautiful and the scenery is so wonderful. The cabin is well stocked with all your necessities and clean. This is called "Cozy Cabin" , and it sure is Cozy . The main bedroom is great, with the fireplace and the sliding glass doors. Drinking coffee in the morning taking in the beautiful site and listening to the birds is more then words can explain. Being on top of the hill gave an opportunity to see beautiful sun sets and sun rises. Our dog loved his walks through wooded lanes, and all those smells. I wish I could put into words how peaceful our stay was. Thank you John !!

Everything we were looking for in a cabin stay. Spectacular view of the Shenandoah River from the porch or from inside. The cabin had plenty of heating for the winter and we were provided plenty of firewood. Host ensured road to cabin was accessible and kept us informed prior to stay. Would visit again, for sure!

Our cabin was built by my great uncle back in 1934, which we renovated back in 2009. We have been able to share this special place with 100's of guests over the past years

Why they chose this property

Location, location, Location- Our cabin is the perfect home base for all your outdoor activities and adventures in the Shenandoah Valley. Our log cabin is secluded and built on a 100 foot cliff above the Shenandoah River with 35 acres of privacy. The Shenandoah River State Park and the Skyline Drive northern entrance are both only a ten minutes drive. The newly built Canopy Tours zip line was just open in the summer of 2014 which takes over 3 hour to complete. If you’re more interested in water activities; swimming, fishing or boating is all just a walk or 10 minute ride. There are three boating companies in the area which offer numerous options for floating down the river. Did someone say wine tasting? There are over 30 wineries within 30 minutes of our cabin with new ones opening every year. We hope you will choose our home base for a memorable getaway.
