"Captain's Quarters" is a newly renovated (2017)three bedroom, two bath Conch style heated pool home that sleeps eight, and it is located at mile marker 52 with direct ocean access. This charming home with beautiful tongue and groove wood ceilings is located just four lots from the Atlantic Ocean so you can fish and dive the Atlantic in just minutes, and it is also convenient to the Vaca Cut so you can be in the Gulf in just minutes as well. Because this home is so close to the ocean, you will also enjoy some nice open water views and gentle ocean breezes. We also just installed a beautiful new heated pool that will keep you cool in the summer and will also be heated in the winter so it can be enjoyed year round. This home is located in a quiet neighborhood, has plenty of parking, and it is convenient to restaurants, shopping, bait and tackle shops, dive shops, Marathon airport, Sombrero Beach, and it is walking distance to Oceanfront Park which has a 1/2 mile jogging, and fitness trail, dog park, fishing docks, and nice tiki huts right on the ocean. With over sixty feet of canal frontage there is plenty of dockage for a large boat, and the step down dock is a nice feature so the whole family can easily access your boat. Amenities include updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, updated bathrooms with oversized master shower, step down dock, fish cleaning station, bait freezer, washer dryer, tv in living room and each bedroom, and wifi. This home is tastefully decorated, and it includes all the linens, towels, and kitchen utensils to make your stay comfortable. Great getaway!

We had a wonderful stay! House was one of the cleanest rentals we have ever stayed in and had plenty of room for our family of 4. Loved hanging out in the pool and fishing in the canal. We will definitely be back!

Location is everything

We enjoyed the house and the open eater at the end if the canal made it a quick trip to deep water. Beds are very comfortable. The steps down to the living room are a bit steep and for older adults not easy. Would recommend a rail or something to hold on too. We will be back.

Great Place!

This location was central and fantastic. The house was clean and came with many amenities not offered by others, including a heated pool! There is a park and dog park right next to the property, though you will have to walk to the end of the road to get to get around the perimeter fence line to access it. The property is next to a small airport, but we rarely, if ever, heard any noise from it. All in all, a great place to stay! I never had to contact the property owner/manager during my stay. Everything was as it should be.

Convenient

This place was great we all have a nice experience it is the first time in 5 years going to the keys that we found a nice neighbors. They told us where to go and super nice couple . The house over hall was great nice heated pool and the location was amazing we where able to go out in our boat every day since the exit is a facing the Atlantic Ocean. There is plenty space for trailer (just don’t make the same mistake I made) there is a dolly inside the little house that makes parking the boat trailer much easier I found out after I parked my. The rooms are spacious and the beds very confortable . Only thing that we found a little uncomfortable was the bugs inside the house there was little ants everywhere but nothing major . I would definitely stay here again.

Family Vacation

We have stayed in Marathon a few times and we really enjoyed this home. The private pool was amazing and our 4 year old loved having his "pool parties" every evening. We had everything we needed plus more for the house and everything was as pictured. As others had mentioned the road and driveway are a bit tight for a boat trailer. We had to back the trailer down the road but was not a problem as the street is really quiet. We had a 24.5' boat and it was just about all you could get into the driveway and out of the road. Just the trailer was not bad but with the boat on the trailer it probably was over the property line slightly for our last night there. As long as you are comfortable backing a trailer this was not an issue. The property owners was very responsive and easy to deal with. We would definitely stay here again and hopefully sooner rather than later. Thanks for the awesome trip!

99th st … perfect location

The house is on a semi narrow street with very few options to turn around while pulling a boat trailer, however, you can pull into the public bldg lot near the hiway and then back down the street about 10 houses or so to park boat/trailer. Street is not busy, very little traffic. We were able to park the 26’ trailer so that we had room for 2 cars and a truck., The location off the hiway and to open water is Superb! The house is much bigger inside than it appears from the outside. The pool is perfect, the dock space great. The canal clean. The bedrooms large. I only started with the turn around issue first because if you pull down the street to the house without being aware of it you will get a big surprise. It wasn’t really that big of a deal. I will rent here again without hesitation. This place gets a big thumbs up from me.

Great stay

Me and my 4 other family members just got home from a weeks stay at captains quarters. Upon arrival my 4 year old son was anxious to jump in the pool but the pool was very cold (62 Degrees) so we contacted Bill about the heater maybe being broken. Bill was quick to help and sent over a repair man to assess the problem, it was in fact broken but Bill made sure it was fixed ASAP. Within a day the pool was fixed and warmed up in no time (90 degrees) We really appreciated that Bill got the issue fixed so quickly so we could enjoy our family vacation. Lovely house , nice bedrooms with a tv in each one , clean and cozy. We did some fishing off our pier everyday , mostly caught grunt fish which make a funny grunting noise when caught, my son found this quite entertaining. Enjoyed watching the pelicans fly over the water / house. The washer and dryer were a huge bonus , worked great! I recommend this property to anyone who wants to relax, have fun in the pool or kick your feet up and fish.

Really nice place

Oct 20-27, 2018. This is a really nice, homey place. Plenty of room for 5 guys scuba diving and fishing. Even though we had 2, there is room to park 3 big trucks . The wooden ceilings are a real nice touch. Everything (appliances & kitchen stuff) worked as they should. Plenty of room for a bigger boat. We had a 24' with LOTS of more dock to use. Kayaks were nice but only used them once. Great pool to relax in. Shaded by the house in later afternoon. Beds were quite comfortable. Neighbors were very quiet (not there) but that may be because of the time of the year it was. About an hour drive to KW. Living room furniture is nice and comfy. Internet was quick and no dead spots. Grill had plenty of gas. Easy to get out to the Ocean or Capt Hook's for gas or access to the Gulf. Good chance we will rent it again next year. We've stayed at a number of places in Marathon over the years and this is one of our favorites. Huge school of mullet in the canal provide consistent entertainment.

Property had a great location, 3:2 with a pool, everything you could need in the kitchen, minus a cutting board. There were sugar ants in the kitchen and insects throughout the home. You do need to keep shoes on, small rocks all around the pool and wooden steps w splinters leading into the sliding glass doors. This house was location and pool for us, if you are looking for elegance or resort style, this home wouldn’t be for you.

What a cozy home! In a good way. It felt bigger than I had expected which was great since we were 4 adults and doggies. We really enjoyed the pool and having the boat right there to jump on whenever we wanted. There was a learning curve with turning the boat in the canal and idling out to deeper water. But all was well after we figured that out. The visiting neighbors were very nice also. The guys would chat over the fence as they gutted fish, and talked about their finds for the day :)

Perfect spot!

Just as advertised - greatly little spot on the water! Kitchen was stocked well enough to prepare meals and serve entire family! We liked the additional bait freezer that was located on the property. Overall, a wonderful spot that we would recommend!

A Perfect Stay

This house was even nicer that the pictures that showed it. Every room, including the kitchen, was spacious and comfortable. We cooked all our meals, including four types of pierogi for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner, and I found everything I needed, and was totally comfortable working in the kitchen. The grill was clean and easy to operate, too. Our mattress was firm and comfortable, and our family said the same about theirs. I felt like quality materials were chosen for the house and that really added to our comfort. We loved the pool and patio and took several meals to the covered picnic table. Ed, the property manager, stopped by to show us how to regulate the pool temperature and he was quick to answer any questions and help when needed. I’m not sure if we’ll get back to the Keys, but if we do, this is where we will stay. It was ideal.

Great Time In the Keys

The location was great. Nice to have a park across the street to walk the dog. Easy to get out into the Atlantic by boat. Plenty of linens. Steps into living room are a bit tricky for elderly. We enjoyed our stay.

Boat Owners Use Caution

The house and outdoor area was very nice and clean. There is not much living area but bedrooms and baths were really large. The shower in the largest bath could use a different faucet and was difficult to use. As in previous posts, the canal is narrow and difficult to turn your boat around. The channel coming into the canal is shallow in spots. All these are fine if you are a well experienced captain with a small boat or a boat with thrusters. These facts should be mentioned in the listing. There also needs to be a garden hose on both sides of the house. Also mentioned in previous posts, the street is narrow as well and requires precision backing of the trailer. Overall, if you have a small boat (20 ft or less) or aren’t bringing your boat, this is a very nice house.

Wonderful stay

Lovely place in a nice location had everything we needed for a great vacation for 3 adults. Beds were very comfortable. We cooked most nights using a well equipped kitchen. We saw manatees in the canal and caught enough snapper for a dinner. The small airport is nearby, but there wasn't enough air traffic to bother us. Nights were quiet. We will certainly return!
