Thanks for the review Michael and glad you enjoyed your stay at Swallow Barn. The Peak District is looking fantastic at this time of the year. We are pleased you had good weather to enjoy exploring the area.
Stunning cottage, mattress was a little uncomfortable and old, sofa wasnt very comfortable. But beautiful place. Shower kept tripping the switch but was getting sorted. Would definitely stay again. Thank you ❤️

Thanks for your feedback Emma. Surprised to hear that you found the bed uncomfy, our guests often comment on how well they’ve slept - helped of course by the village being so quiet. Shower now fixed! Hope to see you again.
A recent 4 day visit for my little dog Freddie and me .
The converted barn is a beautiful little place to stay . It’s very well equipped and is set in a pretty ,quiet , friendly little village in the heart of the Peak District . Lots of birds for company and it’s enclosed for any little furry friend . An attractive patio area with tubs dotted about it’s just perfect . There’s so much to see and do - our days out have been completely different types of walking - all beautiful . It’s lush which means there’s a fair drop of rain about …. appropriate walking clothes a good idea . Freddie has come back a very happy boy - nothing better than different types of walking for him even though he’s knee high to a gnat .

Glad you and Freddie enjoyed your stay. Thank you for leaving everything so clean and tidy. Hope to see you again.
This cottage was just as advertised. Very comfortable and very quiet. Gill, the host, was away during our stay but she sent details of how to get into the cottage and how to contact her if required. We were lucky with the weather so made ample use of the veranda in front of the cottage. The village is very small with no shop but there is a Tesco Direct a few miles away on the outskirts of Buxton. The Church Inn in the village is very nice, the food is excellent and the owners really friendly and helpful. Swallow Barn is well situated for visits to Chatsworth, Bakewell, Buxton and Matlock. We didn't have to travel more than about 12 miles to see the places on our list.
What a spectacular stay. Thank you Gill for the most wonderful visit to the Peak District. Accommodation was beyond perfect! Myself and my partner had our Labrador with us too, plenty of room for all luggage and an XL dog crate! Cleanliness was perfect! You wouldn’t even notice another dog had been in the property! There was everything we needed small details also such as a tray to put your walking boots on, the option to store things in a lovely shed! Plenty of wardrobe space, hangers, hairdryer and brilliant radiators that heated the space quick! Perfect! So many walks on the doorstep, perfect location to all the best spots to visit in the Peak District! A pub is a 2 minute walk up the road, AMAZING food and drinks, also very friendly and dogs are also welcome! So many places where we could take our dog! Cafes, restaurants, pubs, shops, walks, caves and more! Dog bowls also located outside lots of shops and food places! I can’t wait to come back one day. Beautiful accommodation! Thank you so much!
Lovely little character barn conversion with all facilities for a week's stay with easy access to all the various beauty spots and walks. One little niggle is neighbour's security light which comes on and off many times a night. Fasten curtains tightly!
Very nice little place, my only problem was being woken at 6am every morning with sunlight, could do with proper blackout curtain between bedroom and lounge, and bedroom skylight being blacked out, as its nice to have a lay in on holiday, photo of bathroom would also be handy on website.

Hi Andrew, thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay at Swallow Barn. I’m sorry if you didn’t realise that there is a roller blind to close on the roof light in the bedroom. And the curtains in the lounge area are heavy lined linen ones so usually keep most of the light out when they are drawn. I’m glad you had sunshine for your stay though!
We had a wonderful week.everything you needed was there and the property was clean and tidy
