Kitchen was beautiful. We really appreciated the home baked lemon loaf cake that was waiting for us on arrival. The expresso machine was great but would’ve appreciated instructions and only enough expresso powder for one cup - had to go buy more immediately.

A beautiful reclaimed barn on a farm in Yorkshire 8 miles from York

What a great house! Everything we needed for 3 days in Yorkshire. Sheep and Alpaca at the farm, a sauna in the evenings with a cold plunge. We cooked, visited and relaxed in this lovely house.

7 of us stayed here to celebrate our joint 50th birthdays last weekend and what an amazing place to do it! This property is phenomenal! It’s spacious but cosy, and the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing weekend with friends. We made great use of the sauna which takes only 30 mins to heat up (and some of us braved the cold bath!) We made friends with the locals (Bebe and the sheep!) and went for a walk around the local village and woods. Cyntra was so friendly and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed, even providing a homemade cake on arrival! Our only issue would be that we didn’t want to leave - what Cyntra has created is a beautiful countryside haven that’s modern and fresh without feeling out of place, the property has everything you could need and feels like a real home away from home. The pics online don’t do it justice - we were blown away when we arrived. Couldn’t recommend this property or the host enough! Thanks for an amazing weekend Cyntra. X(Also recommend the George Hotel in Easingwold for food - delicious! And the wait staff are legends).

Great visit with family! The property was beautiful, very clean with lots of little details, lots of games, kitchen full of equipment and a lovely setting. Really easy to check in and out and the hosts were really friendly and very responsive. Would definitely recommend a visit!

We loved the Launde barn! The grounds and animals are a real highlight, and the interior is cozy and comfortable. The owners have put a lot of thought into the guest experience and Cyntra and Marcus are lovely and welcoming. The kitchenware (pans, utensils, etc) could use a refresh, but we probably cook more than most guests. The espresso machine was a delight. We can't wait to be back next year!

We stayed at Launde Barn for a family birthday celebration and I would recommend the barn and its hosts in a heartbeat! Barn was modern, smartly furnished, very well equipped (kitchen and outdoor games especially), and cleaned to a very high standrard. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor space with the calming backdrop of the sheep.Cyntra and Marcus were very welcoming and communicative hosts from the outset. We loved everything about the Barn. It was spotlessly clean, had everything you needed including the peace and quiet of a beautiful countryside setting. Would not hesitate to recommend here for anyone looking for a break with a large group of friends or family where you just want to chill and enjoy each others company and the amazing scenery. The owner was lovely to deal with, she gave us some recommendations before our stay and responded within 24 hrs even baked us an among loaf cake for our stay. Thanks so much Launde Barn.

We spent five days in the property which was extremely spacious for five adults. Everything was perfect in a lovely relaxing setting within easy reach of York and the beautiful countryside. Such beautiful accommodation which had everything we needed. The layout was perfect for us and having the pool table and the assortment of games was great. The bonus of a sauna was great! The grounds were lovely with the sheep and Beebee the alpaca who was really entertaining. The woods were beautiful for a wander and we even managed to see the owl. Thank you for a perfect week.

The property was lovely. All of the rooms had beautiful furnishing and comfortable beds. We were also impressed by how clean and organized everything was. Marcus and Cyntra Hinde. We have lived here for 10 years and have worked hard to create a warm an inviting environment for family friends and guests. We have two children at university, cocker spaniels and an array of sheep and chickens and two Alpacas who are mother and son.

Why they chose this property

We love the privacy and feeling of space we get around here and, whilst being rural, we are right on the edge of the village which includes a great village pub and and a fabulous Italian restaurant. The pub is a short stroll away and we have easy access into York by bus or car.
We developed the barn in 2016/17 and it is located behind the main farm house. It is very private and is not overlooked in any way , it looks over two paddocks containing all our rescue animals. The 7 acre wood was planted 15 years ago and is a great place to stroll in the morning or evening. You may even see one of the three deer, or a badger or owls that seem to like staying at night. You may also see buzzards in action.

What makes this property unique

The luxury of a new Barn conversion in a rural setting, with the benefits of loads of space to view the wildlife and the birds. but with easy access to the beautiful city of York. Launde Barn is very peaceful without feeling or being totally cut off.
