We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this quaint lakeside camp. The kitchen was well equipped and we were treated to produce from the host’s garden. A canoe and kayak were available for our use during our stay and we enjoyed morning and sunset paddles. The nearby sauna was welcoming after an evening dip. Liz and Ike are terrific hosts. We can’t wait to visit again.
Beautiful spot on the pond! I enjoyed kayaking. My husband liked fished and caught several perch. My labs loved swimming each day. Field behind the property very spacious and allowed our pups to stay off leash. It was perfect for us.
The title pretty much sums it up: this place was perfect. We were two nerdy nature-lovers looking for an escape from the Boston-area, and that's exactly what we got. Outside: private, right on the water, lots of nature (hello birds!). Inside: cozy, funky decor (hello Elvis!), great for cooking meals, beautiful view. The hosts: incredibly thoughtful and generous (thanks for the flowers and veggies!). Close to lots of great hikes/walks. We hope to return next year!
PERFECTLY peaceful freshwater vacation--close enough to everything-ocean, when you want that.
*my all-time favorite Midcoast vacation site
*country acreage (beautiful field for running around, flying kites)
*sweet cottage on quiet cove of a beautiful, ME pond--'think' loons, canoe, kayak, paddle board, swim
*most amazing sunsets (& I've been around the world)
*lovely, responsive 'landlords'
* get-away-from-it-all (try it--you might like it--too nice a place
to trash with a tv!)
I truly can't praise this property, and the hosts, highly enough. This was the perfect space for the two of us - close to action (if we needed it), convenient to shopping, yet secluded. I absolutely LOVED the house. Comfortable, clean, and everything you could need. I particularly appreciated how well equipped the kitchen was and the fresh flowers placed about the cabin by Liz and Ike before our arrival. Great Elvis shrine/bathroom with hot water and plenty of towels, too. Comfortable bed and lots of storage in the bedroom, very homey. The whole cabin is soothing and cozy with charming touches everywhere.
The lake is amazing - clear and clean, abounding with dragonflies, toads and frogs. Loons and eagles make themselves at home. The lawn gently slopes down to the water, and there are easy to use stone steps leading into the lake. Perfect for those with bad knees, such as myself, or for kids. Magnificent swimming. I was in the lake all day, every day. A canoe and kayak are on the property for use, and it's a really lovely lake to paddle around. It's also quite quiet, we barely saw or heard any neighbors. Absolutely peaceful.
The deck, with a very easy to use large grill, is a great respite from the sun. We made great use of it, it's the perfect place to chill out with a book and watch the sunrise and sunset.
We loved this home so much here so much that we recommended it to family members while we were still here. Clean, comfortable, convenient and oh so peaceful. It's the perfect place to set aside your cares and relax. Liz and Ike are ideal hosts. I would absolutely stay here again, the best vacation rental I've ever had the pleasure to enjoy.
If you're looking for the quintessential Maine Camp experience, this is the place. The cabin is attractive and filled with whimsical decor. The place was spotless on our arrival and just exactly as described. But the setting and landscaping make this the perfect vacation spot. Beautifully landscaped, private and roomy. The lake is warm and clean and perfect for swimming or boating. We brought our kayaks but there is a canoe available for use. There are all sorts of interesting places to explore, including 100 acre island and a couple of inlets that we poked around in.
Ike and Liz were delightful and provided lots of extras, such as a bowl of water waiting on the deck for our dog. And fresh flowers, not just upon our arrival but also mid-week. We will definitely be back.
Clean and rustic (with modern conveniences) cabin right on the water ... friendly, responsive hosts. Eclectic and fun furnishings. Wood stove to take the chill off autumn nights. Beautiful setting in a private field with plenty of pollinator plantings (September: monarchs and more!)
This is the cutest little lakeside cottage! Nothing fancy, but exactly what we were looking for. The access to the lake was perfect for us and out 2 young boys and puppies to get in and out of. Being able to use the canoe and kayak was the boys favorite part! The view of the sunset was unbeatable! Short drive to booth bay, and just a bit longer drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor! We did bring a small TV and DVD player for at night or incase it was raining :)
Can not wait to go back!
I spent a week at the little red cottage and it was just a wonderful experience in every way! The cottage is simple but has everything you could need; it was warm, inviting and a happy space. The lake is just something else - the water is so crisp and clear you can see the bottom! Beautiful loons on the lake, huge turtles under the water along with lovely bass. If you are looking for a place to just unplug, the little red cottage is the place to be! Kayak and Canoe on the property and both were wonderful. Liz and Ike are two of the best hosts you could possibly wish for! Totally and positively a wonderful cottage with lovely hosts!

Beautiful Cabin Retreat
This cabin is well kept and in an excellent location. Hosts were superb. The lake is just steps away from the cabin door, with a great swimming area. Hosts allowed use of boats and picnic area and the cabin had everything we needed in the kitchen. Great place! We would definitely come back!

Wonderful spot!
We had a wonderful visit this year. The cottage is unique, comfortable and has everything we need. The location couldn't be better. We will carry great memories of swimming, floating and fishing on the lake, listening to the loons and owls, the lighthouses in Rockland and Owls Head, an afternoon in Camden, a tasting at a local winery/distillery, reading on the deck, and witnessing beautiful sunsets. We will be back.

Love it.
So relaxed! perfect lakefront location; not far from town; quiet; the high ceilinged open living space a pleasure to hang out in. Liz & Ike are ideal, easygoing hosts. This is our second time and we hope to return - again and again.

Relaxing getaway
The cabin is a lovely spot, perfect for the quiet and relaxing vacation I was seeking. Crawford Pond was great for swimming, and the deck was perfect for reading and admiring the beautiful view.
It's a short ride to Rockland, Rockport, and Camden Hills for sightseeing and hiking, and lots of spots for antiquing.
I was so grateful to find a place for my dog and I to spend our vacation--and we found two great dog parks to visit!
Liz and Ike were great hosts, welcoming and available but never hovering--I'm so glad I found this place!

Lovely cottage with beautiful lake view
I took my two nieces away for the week in Maine. It was so much fun to be right on a lake and there were plenty of attractions nearby. We also did some swimming and canoeing in the lake. It was so nice to be able to have their Mom and a friend visit for one of the nights. We would be happy to come back.

Loved this cottage!!
My boyfriend and I rented this cottage for the weekend and absolutely loved it! It is such a beautiful area and so relaxing. The lake is just steps away from the house. It's a very quiet and peaceful area but there is so much to do! We canoed, grilled, sat out by the lake, and also explored nearby towns. I would definitely recommend renting this place :) It's a great deal!

Can't wait to go back some day!
Ike and Liz are wonderful hosts! Because we arrived late they even provided us with garden fresh vegetables, homemade sauce, cornbread, and a bag of shrimp to cook for dinner. The tasty vegetables were better than anything you can find in a grocery store and most farmer's markets. The cottage was clean, beautiful, cozy, well equipped everything we possibly needed, and on a stunning beautiful lake that's great for swimming and canoeing. We wish we could spend more time there, and hope we'll be back someday soon!
