We enjoyed this stay so much. Ian’s house is very comfortable and inviting; decorated very nicely. The entire house had everything we needed for our stay, especially the kitchen. It is also conveniently located, and had lots of maps and books about the island attractions and activities. The outdoor space with the fire pit and chairs made for relaxing evenings. Thank you very much for having us!
This was a lovely renovated home, with a beautiful dining room and a sunny enclosed porch where we had our morning coffee. The kitchen was well stocked, and the beds were comfortable, and there were nautical touches throughout. Although we had read about the somewhat awkward arrangement of the bathrooms - the only bathroom upstairs is the master bath, so guests in the other two bedrooms must either walk through that bedroom or go downstairs to get to a bathroom during the night - it was a little more troublesome than we had anticipated, so just be aware of that issue. But it was a great base to explore Acadia’s fall colors, and to retreat at night to our cosy beds!
Excellent location for a trip to Acadia National Park. Very close to the lighthouse. Pretty good dining options nearby. Highly recommend Beal’s nearby. Really good experience. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting area
My wife and I stayed with our two kids and in laws. There’s a lot of space inside and a nice side yard for the kids to run around. House was clean and close to shops and food. Communication with Ian was great.
Fabulous home in a fantastic location! Quiet, clean, spacious, beautiful yard! One morning 2 feet & 5 huge wild turkeys were just hanging out in the back yard. It was such a treat to enjoy watching them. The town was close & quaint with some beautiful water views. HIGHLY recommend!!!
The house was exactly as pictured and was very clean! The location was convenient to both Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Would recommend staying there!
Beautiful home in SW harbor area. A few items that made place less than ideal for our group-friends in their 60s & 70s:-only one shared bathroom which was located downstairs. The upstairs bath was ensuite to the master. -major construction going on next door-bikes pictured in photo were not at house -No place that we could walk to: the one place nearby, Pete's Tavern, was closed the 2nd week in September 2026. SW Harbor village was close by, just not (safely) walkable as very busy road with negligible shoulder.Overall, we loved the place. And would highly recommend SW Harbor area. Great location for exploring park.Highly recommend eating at SW Harbor bakery Little Notch---pies pizza etc --as well as the Isle Cafe (down the street from Little Notch). And we had a fun morning eating popovers and music at Common Good Soup Kitchen.Avoid Charlotte's Legendary Lobster down the road at a scenic spot on Seawall.

The home was well cared for, clean and had everything you could need for a family meal and a relaxing evening.
Very easy checkin lovely house, had everything we needed. Comfortable. Love that side of the island, quiet, not as crowded, very close to SW Harbor. We had a blast
The home was perfect. We enjoyed coming home from a long day and hanging out on the front porch. We sat and enjoyed the breeze and talked. Beds were comfortable.
This home was great for a quiet family vacation. The kitchen had all the essentials and the home was very clean. I would definitely recommend this property.
Very nice, comfortable, modern and simple. Had a well stocked kitchen, hot water comes quickly. Took about 25 min to get to Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mtn, and Jordan Pond, etc. but isn’t a bad drive. Exploring the town of Southwest Harbor was an added treat.Would stay here again!
Nothing beats MDI and staying at Ian’s place was wonderful
The location is perfect to access all the fun MDI has to offer.
Eating out can be a pocket punch so the well appointed kitchen and grill are a plus
Can’t wait to go back
We were very comfortable in this beautiful, immaculate, well equipped home. Location is great, about 1/2 hour from the main entrance to Acadia and close to the town of Southwest Harbor. The hosts were very accommodating and got back to us very quickly on the few questions we had. Would definitely stay here again if the opportunity presents itself.
The location was ideal for touring the Boothbay and Acadia area, yet without the congestion of Boothbay. Rather than being bothered by people, we were visited at least twice daily by several deer, which was a pleasant experience. Both Beal's Lobster Pier and Peter Trout's Tavern & Inn are only minutes away and have excellent food. The fried haddock sandwich at Peter Trout's is to die for.
Very clean place. The home was simple, but had all the things needed for a comfortable stay. I appreciated the nice stove, sharp knives, and comfortable dining room table. The fire pit in the backyard was a really peaceful spot as well.
