Thanks for your great review - we are delighted that you enjoyed yourselves. All the very best, Sue for John
Property was spacious, clean, with a truly outstanding view and amenities. Hosts were gracious with good and responsive communications. One of the best stays we had in NZ and would highly recommend.
Fantastic views over akaroa harbour, well appointed and clean house, lovely comfortable bed, relaxing and cosy, no hesitation in booking this property again, but for longer next time, only con, no access to the washing machine, laundromat not far away but no drying rack, our problem really as we wash every day, could have stayed there for 2 wks no worries.
The house was wonderful- well stocked and very comfortable. All we heard was birds singing- no traffic noise. Surrounded by garden and blossoms. And we have never stayed in a place with such a spectacular view.
Good heating, lovely bed with great view in master bedroom, well equiped kitchen and large dining and lounge areas also with great views of the harbour. Dishwasher needs replacing or fixing - very hard to start. Not recommended without a car.

Hi Louise,
Thanks for your feedback, will pass onto owner Re; Dishwasher
Lovely property up on the hill overlooking Akaroa. Lots of space and located on a quiet cul-de-sac.
Property has a great kitchen and I really enjoyed cooking dinner whilst enjoying the sunset. A couple of areas for improvement would be having access to laundry facilities and there didn't seem to be a hairdryer in the house so my hair was wild and crazy for the duration of my stay!

Can't find a better view of Akaroa
The wrap around deck is the star of this property with perhaps the best view in town from its hillside perch. Very spacious and comfortable. Despite the instructions, we couldn't figure out how to run the dishwasher but that wasn't a big deal. One suggestion is to update the VRBO description - it lists the property as having a washer and dryer but these are not available for use. Ended up washing a few things by hand. We'd recommend this house without hesitation and will look to stay here again.

Beautiful home with fantastic views. Felt like we had an absent roommate.
Beautiful home with expansive deck and windows overlooking Akaroa and the harbor. Very comfortable furnishings and bed. Check-in was nice and easy with John’s daughter-in-law introducing us to the house. Towels and sheets were nice and of good quality.
We had a bit of a feeling that we were sharing the house with an absent roommate, since our host rents the house when he is away, and we would often find, while looking for something or a place to store things, his personal items in drawers and cupboards. This didn’t cause any problems, but future potential renters might want to be aware of it.
Similarly, there could have been more effort by the cleaning staff to get the nooks and crannies cleaned of crumbs, etc. Overall, the home was quite clean on first impression, and we enjoyed the living areas and the deck, but the kitchen counters and cabinets weren’t quite up to the quality of the rest of the house.
The washer and dryer, which were supposed to be included, were in the garage, and we did not have a key to access them
Akaroa is a lovely town and highly recommended.
What an incredible place to stay. We didn't want to venture out because of the view. Tidy and well presented, perfect even if the weather isn't the greatest. Will be back
Everything you want is there to make for an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Heavier drapes in upstairs bedroom would be great for light sleeps. Would stay again
Such an idyllic location and a property with everything needed for a relaxing stay. Highly recommend every aspect of this home. Comfy beds, cosy house and all amenities well maintained and available. Thank you John and family.
Based on the photos, I knew this place was special. It was so well appointed, it actually exceeded my expectations. Warm home with comfy beds & great quality linen.
Fantastic view of Akaroa harbour & hills.
Having kitchen near the deck & lots of seating made it perfect for entertaining. Very enjoyable stay, thank you.
