A lovely place in a lovely location. We stayed 3 nights and spent time in Edinburgh, St Andrew's, and along the Fife coast. It was a great location to see the area. The view of the Forth from the property is perfect. Beth communicated well, so we knew exactly how the check in and what the expectations were. I would highly recommend the JSM apartment to anyone.

As advertised. Beautiful little property just away from the water for 2 adults and 3 kids. Close corner store, harbour cafe, and Chinese takeaway just a block away in each direction (confirm hours). Used as kickoff spot to Edinburgh, St. Andrew’s, and Stirling. Enjoyed our stay very much. Communication and check in were excellent.

This stay was amazing! The home is so beautiful and so is Dystart. There is a great cafe about a 5 minute walk from the home. The bus stop is also nearby, with a line taking you directly into Edinburgh. I can’t recommend enough!

A perfect base for exploring Fife

We had a very good break in Dysart and JMS house was beautifully furnished and very well equipped, in a picturesque setting. It was exactly as described in the listing with a parking space a few yards away and marvellous views over the Firth of Forth. We had a problem with the TV, which I understand has been rectified, but otherwise everything worked well, especially the heating which we needed! Highlights of our week were Ravenscraig Park and Castle, walks along the coast path and trips to Arbroath (by train), St Andrew's and Stirling (by car). We enjoyed meals out in The Wee Restaurant, N Queensferry, The Seafood Restaurant, St Andrews and, especially, Sangsters in Elie. I'd recommend JMS house to anyone who doesn't mind stairs and I'd gladly stay there again.

John McDouall Stuart View

Loud radio noise from occupants in ground floor flat. Difficulties parking close to entrance. No freezer compartment in fridge. Very limited preparation space in kitchen. Several rugs all of which ruck up making trip hazards. No C4 or ITV reception on TV. 32 steps from street level to bedroom; not suitable for limited mobility. Door to street stuck - we thought it was locked.

Dear Jeffrey - thank you for your kind comments in the guest book at the property, for your review here and for the letter you sent us. We have replied separately to your detailed letter and are sorry your break was not everything you hoped for. Other guests have enjoyed a quiet, restful break with easy access, plenty of parking and full TV coverage - and we would very much have wanted you to enjoy the same experience. The apartment has been converted to maintain the character of this historic building and the kitchen is designed to be large enough for two people to comfortably use it together, with a separate butcher's trolley and table to provide extra space for food preparation. Thanks again for your feedback. Lorraine, Fife Historic Buildings Trust

Great Time

Had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Property had great views over the Firth of Forth, and was very close to the Fife coastal walk. The property has all the facilities needed, and was very comfortable. Visited various places around the East Neuk during our stay. Would recommend.

Hogmanay Holidays

We had a wonderful stay over New Year and found Dysart to be the most beautiful and interesting village. A walk round the harbour, up through the gorgeous park and round Ravenscraig Castle makes for a great afternoon! John McDouall Stuart View is a lovely place to stay, with a mega comfortable bed, fab shower and cosy, comfy living room and kitchen space. We were beyond chuffed to find a very generous welcome gift awaiting us on our arrival and were astounded to get an amazing view of the Edinburgh fireworks from the living room window - magical! We were genuinely sad to go and will definitely make a return visit - thanks to Beth and her team for a wonderful stay!

Tolle Unterkunft

Would like to be back soon!

A lovely flat with great views of the Firth of Forth. Has great character.

Very well equipped flat, great for a couple. Flat itself up a flight of stairs as is the 1 bathroom, for us it was fine and the house has kept its character. Great waking up in the morning and looking over to the sea. Would love to come back some time. Thanks to the owners for their thoughtfulness-great to find bread and milk plus a bottle of wine on arriving. Flat is near public transport too (bus stop)
