This gorgeous property is hidden away in a sunny, secluded corner, offering complete privacy and tranquillity. The highlight is its magnificent swimming pool, surrounded by a spacious sun terrace, perfect for lounging with a book or enjoying a refreshing dip on warm days. Perfect if you’re seeking a peaceful retreat or a place to entertain family and friends, this home combines charm, comfort, and resort-style relaxation.
Steph was a great host nothing is to much trouble the house was amazing everything you need is there literally a home from home . The kids loved the gardens and pool. The house is in a prime spot we got to go to Charlestown harbour that's just a short drive also the Eden project and lappa valley was amazing. We will definitely be coming back in the future.
Steph is an absolutely fantastic, helpful host. Sunny Corner is so well equiped with everything's you need. We enjoyed beach trips to Porthpean and Carlyon, and the walks/runs straight from the house are super.
This property is among the best we've hired. Excellent communication with a lovely and helpful host. Stunning house, immaculate inside and out. Utilising complete honestly, the pool would maybe have benefited from a little clean ( think it could actually have been a filter/pump issue ) and the barbecues weren't used as would have required a major clean first. That aside, Stephanie was an amazing and obliging host that we would absolutely enjoy staying with again. The Smiths xx

Would i book again YEs

A beautiful 400 year old cottage set in beautiful woodland surroundings. Everything you would think you’d need was supplied, fully equipped kitchen, WiFi in every room. Clean and comfortable throughout, shops close by. Would recommend this cottage and the host Steph did everything she possibly could to make our stay the best. Definitely a Christmas we’ll remember for ever.
4 generation (8 Adults, a baby and our dogs) get together at this beautiful cottage in St Austell for 2 fantastic weeks. The cottage is set in stunning grounds, the heated pool is just amazing, we went in every single day as it was heated. The pool area is a sun trap on hot days. There is everything that you could possibly want or need in the property. A folder with day trips/things to do, games etc.Lots of places to go, we visited The Eden Project, Lands End, Adrenaline Quarry, Fistral Beach, and the list goes on.The house was very clean, with fresh towels for our stay.Steph is an amazing host, very friendly and helpful, any questions we had. We just sent her a message with swift reply’s.We had such a great time, we have already booked our 2 week 2026 stay at Sunny Corner. Thanks Steph can’t wait to be back next July

Lovely house, fantastic grounds and space, lovely pool area and heated perfectly. Positioned within the trees yet seems to capture the sun throughout the day.
This is our third visit and we loved it again!
The house sits in a magical setting with a fantastic pool and lovely grounds. Everything has been thought of to make your holiday easy and enjoyable.
Porthpean is our favourite beach and is perfect for families with a great little cafe and toilets.
Steph is an amazing and incredibly helpful host.
We highly recommend.
We had the best time at Steph’s house. The house is gorgeous and the pool and bbq area is such a selling point. Steph’s communication was excellent. We will definitely be back. Thankyou so much! X
We absolutely loved our stay at this property. It is ideally positioned to explore Cornwall.
It had everything we needed to have a great holiday. The cottage was stunning and very clean. The grounds were beautiful and secure which meant we could let our dogs wonder off the lead and not have worry about their safety and the swimming pool was fantastic. Steph really has thought of everything and I would definitely recommend this property.
Well, how do you summarise this property? Amazing slice of Cornwall to call your own for a week.....the house is gorgeous. Very well equipped, cosy, home from home. Having the pool to jump into after our action-packed days was the cherry on the cake. Steph is a warm and caring host...the best! Thank you Steph, we will be back x
This is our second time at Sunny Corner and we loved it just as much as last time. It is a wonderful house in a magical setting. We loved all the improvements to the swimming pool area and bathroom and enjoyed watching a variety of birds feeding on the terrace-fat balls provided. We even saw a dipper in the evening by the swimming pool and herons flying over the cottage. Porthpean is our favourite beach for the kayaking and paddle boarding. All in all, we had a fabulous time and have even booked for next year. Thank you, Stephanie.
Sunny Corner is a lovely property. It has low ceilings, many connected rooms and a kitchen with every gadget imaginable. Parking is plentiful (unless your car has been lowered) and the surrounding countryside is breathtaking. We took our little dog and she loved it, skipping through the forest and llounging on the blankets on the sofas upon her return. The local area is well serviced, but if you want an M&S or a waitrose, you need to travel a little further afield. Everywhere we travelled was within an hour or so of Sunny Corner, making it an ideal location. Steph was a very attentive host, even cutting her own holiday short to rectify a washing machine issue. Great place, great, flexible host and lovely part of the country.
All ages loved the cottage. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in spite of the less than perfect weather! The pool was enjoyed every day even in the rain, it is a great size and was not at all cold.
The steps both inside and out are steep, as described but even us older ones managed. I loved sitting watching the birds in the mornings (even in the rain). I saw my first Nuthatch!
There was everything and more that you could wish for to be available in the kitchen and we also made use of the barbecue and chimnea (also in the rain). The children and dog enjoyed a cosy evening in front of the log burner.
We had all a really good time here. A lovely place to stay. Convenient walking distance to Pentewan beach for sundowners, down a handy river walk. We also took track to ‘The Lost Gardens of Heligan’ a 2.5 mile stroll. Porthpean beach is close by and is a dog friendly beach, also great place to to launch our Kayaks to watch the seals and explore the coastline. The property is completely private, which was brilliant. The pool was a fantastic place to start the day with a swim and wind down at the end of the day. The kitchen is well equipped and eating out on the terrace was great as we all just chatted and laughed. In all a fantastic place to spend time with the family without the glare of phones. Thanks Steph.
Positives
Great location close to Lost Gardens,Eden Project, super beaches, great eateries etc
Lovely spacious sitting room with lots of books/DVDs
Gorgeous pool area with pool heated to an excellent temperature.
Nicely decorated and furnished throughout with lots of homely touches
Beautiful and interesting gardens
Instant response from host when contacted
Negatives
Steep steps inside and out although not surprising given age and location of the property. All manageable with care.
Small kitchen but generously equipped
Upstairs shower room very small and shower not big enough for large adult. Downstairs bathroom spacious with large walk-in shower and full size bath
Property at side of busy road but quiet parking area elsewhere. No traffic noise within
Road too busy to walk along so not much within easy walking distance although there is apparently a path over a field to local hotel/restaurant which does excellent food (Kingswood)
For us the positives vastly outweighed the negatives and I would certainly stay here again
We had 2 weeks at Sunny, Steph was very good, let us arrive the early hours of Saturday to avoid the traffic (6 hrs drive) of the day, which we were very grateful for.
Pool: The pool was freezing at 24 degrees, we contacted Steph on the Sunday to tell her about the cold pool & could the temperature be increased. Steph advised that the recent rain would have dropped the temperature! & asked us to check the jets as they come on in the morning & afternoon & maintenance would pop in on Monday & check. The mobile reception at the house is almost non-existent, so messaging is not easy. On Thursday she sent a text to ask if all was ok, which we replied that it was still very cold. We are NOT great complainers & my grandson still wanted to use the pool, but how my daughter or son-in-law managed to go in with it so cold I don’t know. The reply was Adam was coming tomorrow to check it. Adam turned the pool heating to constant & it was wonderful to all be able to use the pool, but it meant that for a whole week it was freezing! Adam said 30 degrees should be the norm, but Steph said it’s 27/28 degrees. We asked if we could have a reduction if we booked for next year considering we had a week without using the pool really. Steph was curt in her reply & said she can only sort a problem if she knows about it, so no negotiation on price for next year. I do understand that, however, surely maintenance should be checking before guests arrive what the temperature is? Just before leaving, we asked if we booked 2 weeks next year, then could she guarantee the pool would be at 30 degrees, we understood this would be more than normal, but asked if it would be possible. Well, we NEVER got a reply & I think that tells you what sort of person she is. You booked it, don’t make any negative comments as she will be on the defensive & we feel it was extremely rude not to reply, we would have understood a “no that won’t be possible”.
The kitchen It is FULL of duplicate items you do not need as a holiday home. There are 7 potato peelers, 3 mixers, 9 frying pans etc., clutter, clutter. The worst is the huge dehumidifier in the window, blocking the view of the birds that are feeding right beside the house & became our highlight of the holiday. The dining room - Lovely large table, huge dresser, which is FULL of crockery, it’s all filthy as there is so much of it no-one uses it. Had an infestation of wasps before leaving, didn't inform Steph as didn't want a confron

I was very sad to read this review after everything I did to help this family. This Included an extra night completely free of charge so they could avoid the holiday traffic and turning up the temperature on the pool to above the normal level as they needed it more like a bath than a swimming pool.
They then told me they had a lovely stay but asked for a booking next year at a ‘considerable discount’. Unfortunately when I did not agree to this they gave me this horrible review.
If you are thinking of booking my lovely house, please could you read the other reviews I have received. This will give you a true representation of the property and of me as a host, Hopefully, you will understand the motivation behind this unpleasant and factually incorrect review but if you have any questions about the property please let me know. Many Thanks
Place is lovely and private great place to get away
Had a great holiday

This has been our second home for 22 years and we have loved spending time here and have got to know the area well. Work commitments mean we can’t be there as often as we would like so we share our home as a holiday let.
