About this property

SMALL IRIS FLORENCE CENTER

San Frediano, in the center of a quiet area 5 minutes walk from Ponte Vecchio, Piazza del Carmine, Palazzo Pitti, a very quiet and completely renovated apartment. Typical Florentine furniture with everything you need for the living room, equipped with all comforts (internet wifi-washing machine-air conditioning hot / cold-heating-fridge-TV 32 "flat screen).
Borgo San Frediano is a street located in Diladdarno, as they say in Florence, in the neighborhood where once the workshops of the Oltrarno artisans were located, and where the Florentine vernacular had greater diffusion. It is the headquarters of craft shops and the most passionate and true local culture. The well-known liveliness of this district is consolidated by the presence of people who have lived and worked for generations in the streets around Piazza del Carmine. A city within the city, with its characters and stories, customs and beliefs, where one breathes the atmosphere of belonging to the same traditions. An obligatory stop for those looking for an original and bohemian nightlife, restaurants and trattorias of home cooking and above all the most intimate and fabulous art and history of Florence.

This was a pleasant stay. Good location was pretty close to city center and lots of good food options closeby.

Quiet home base

This third-floor apartment was quiet and well-equipped. Loved being able to do a load of laundry mid-vacation while logging in to my own Netflix account after a long day of walking on cobblestones and absorbing cultural and historical learnings. Never met Antonio or Ilaria, who managed the communications, but received a ton of information via WhatsApp messaging. Remote check-in was exactly as Ilaria outlined it would be, and she was very responsive to any messages we sent. I liked that it was in the Oltrano, rather than in the thickest tourist section, which was a 10-15 minute walk away. It was convenient and a welcome reprieve from the throngs of people taking selfies.

Adequate and cozy

3 adults is just right for this small but clean and air-conditioned apartment. It’s a about 16-18 minutes walk from the old town attractions. The kitchen is very small and the stairs are very narrow and quite a climb. Never met the host, but they have remote control on all the doors. City tax collected after check in. 4€/night/person.

Oltrarno, Florencce

This property is set in the Oltrarno area of Florence just inside the ancient western gate. The first thing I want to say about this property is that the communication with the owners was outstanding and very caring which made the check- in process very comfortable and stress free. The rooms would be comfortable for a couple and one other. You may need to eat out the first night and there is a fabulous restaurant around the corner to the left and left again, called....Cambia I think. But you may need reservations. I did not have one, but they squeezed me in if i agreed to leave within an hour. There is a grocery store an easy walk (about 3-4 blocks), it is busy and looked lined up at the till, but it went quickly. However there is a little one just across the street for a few quick supplies-or a beer or some wine. You can walk to most of the main attractions from here and I recommend checking out the area south of Ponte Vecchio.
