Totally Delightful

This cottage is delightful, comfortable and immaculately clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the beds were comfortable, (although we were glad we had taken our own pillows as we always do these days after too many bad experiences with cheap, hard pillows) and the garden room was fantastic. It is in an excellent position for exploring the North Norfolk coast and we would definitely return and thoroughly recommend it. The welcoming bottle of wine was a lovely touch too.

Another fantastic week in Norfolk

Another fantastic stay at Skimming Stones. The house is perfect; homely but special. The location is great for visiting Creake Abbey, Holkham and Wells beaches and all the local sightseeing spots such as Holkham Hall and Sandringham. There are lots of good food choices locally, the farmers market at Creake Abbey has to be one of the best in the UK! Crabbing at Wells was cold, wet but so much fun. We also saw a seal, up close and personal at Wells beach. There are lots of nice shops at Burnham Market, love the old bookshop. Another fantastic week in Norfolk.

8/10 Good

Brilliant for our short break.

Lovely cottage providing surprisingly spacious accommodation. OK you are not on the coast but it is only a short drive, and if you accept that the location is fine. Great views from the garden room and patio. The cottage is well presented and on the whole well equipped. It was clean and the bed clothes and towels were to a high standard. Kitchen was well equipped and I enjoyed cooking there. We were only there three days so we did not try the washing machine or dish washer. The cottage does not really have parking but there was space outside the properties diagonally opposite where the road widens while we were there so it was not an issue for us. There are a few things that could be improved, but I would not want those to detract from what is a very positive experience. Just some feedback to assist the owners. The TV is relatively small, ok for a short break but something larger would definitely be a plus. The shower was adequate but if you are used to something with power then you could be disappointed. But as a basic shower was fine. There were no scouring pads or dish clothes when we arrived, not a problem to buy but irritating on the first day. Something for the owners to add to there checklist when preparing the property. Bottom line though is that we had a thoroughly good stay, were able to relax in comfort. Overall I would rate it as a very positive experience and would be more than to return.
