This is a wonderful property in a beautiful, quiet location … it is rural, but with walks just outside the door and wonderful pubs close , it’s an ideal place to get away from it all .
Property has everything you need and more and is immaculate and top quality..
Will definitely return
We had a relaxing long weekend away, to attend a friends wedding in the area.
The hosts were so helpful before our arrival, and really made us feel welcome during our stay. They were able to recommend places and food locally. They were so kind and friendly to our young children.
The property has everything you could need. It was so clean and homely.
The situation of the property is so beautiful, and we were lucky with the weather we were able to enjoy eating outside on the patio and sitting on the balcony to relax.
Thankyou so much for a perfect trip away.
From the moment we arrived, Rachel was a most welcoming host. The property is immaculate and well equipped. Perfect views of the grounds with wonderful horses in the adjacent fields. Situated ideally, including for Stourhead Gardens. A most wonderful stay - can’t wait to return!!
Lovely warm welcoming holiday home. Peaceful countryside location. It had everything we needed, was absolutely spotless and was a cosy, comfortable haven to return to after exploring Somerset during some wet Autumn weather. Thanks for a lovely stay!
Beautifully appointed. Had a good meal at the pub in Shepton Montevideo and a very good visit to Montecute House. Also a lovely garden at Hauser and Wirth but we didn’t like the Current exhibition.
We would’ve liked a few more pieces of crockery and take your own dishwasher tablets.
A relaxing short break in a very well appointed self catering unit with views of lovely Somerset countryside. The owner was very friendly and helpful and we look forward to a return visit.
We had a lovely time staying at the Winning Post. Rachel and Chris made us feel very welcome and gave us useful information about the area. It was a beautiful spot to explore Somerset and Wiltshire from. We will be going back again!
Exceptional Cottage with all mod cons. This beautiful cottage is immaculate so clean with comfy beds, plenty of parking and great views especially from the bedroom balcony. Rachel is a great host ready to help if needed but gives you all the required privacy for a truly magnificent holiday-We are definitely going back soon.
Excellent property, very clean, well equipped, we were made very welcome by the hosts. We will be returning sometime in the future.
Only one recommendation - if you can make the showers more powerful that would be great.
Thank you
Very smart, modern, well kept property. Two good bedrooms, one en suite & bathroom with wet room downstairs. Hosts very friendly & helpful. Provided high chair & cot for granddaughter. Farm on outskirts of Bruton - horses, dog & cat on farm - all friendly :). Shops in nearby villages & Shepton only 10 mins away. Strongly recommend

Great location, very comfortable house, beautiful views - all in all a wonderful place
We stayed over a long weekend. The house is extremely well situated; we enjoy walking and there are great walks directly from the house to the surrounding beautiful countryside and into Bruton. The house itself is very comfortable, well fitted-out with all conveniences, beautiful bathrooms. There is a balcony from the bedrooms and a terrace from the living room giving out onto grass and the paddocks, south-facing so perfect for eating, barbecues etc. The owners are very friendly and helpful. All in all, highly recommended.
We run a private, well equipped equine competition yard and so it is possible to bring your horse on holiday with you. Please contact me prior to booking in order to discuss your requirements.
