This is a lovely cottage.
This is a lovely cottage. In terms of size, it was just right for me, my wife and the dog. The cottage consists of a sizeable conservatory, a large kitchen/lounge area, and a large double bedroom with a modern ensuite bathroom. Sofas and beds were very comfortable. There is a lovely view of the rolling Gloucestershire countryside from the conservatory. The immediately surrounding area includes a vineyard, which is ideal to walk the dog. Obviously a car is essential to get about and the lane is narrow. I'd advise to always turn left out of the drive and head towards the B4215 to go anywhere, rather than go through several miles of narrow lanes in the other direction. We all (dog included) enjoyed our six-night stay. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, such as the old picturesque market town of Ledbury, Gloucester Quays and Ross on Wye. Best local pub meal is to be had at The Beauchamp Arms at Dymock and the Kings Arms in Newent is a close second. It is actually worth affording Newent itself a bit of time too. Finally, a big thanks to Mel for her friendly and respectful hosting. The welcoming gift of wine from her own vineyard was a nice surprise; the red was excellent!

Wonderful relaxing cottage.
Wonderful relaxing cottage. Only consideration needed is the access. Approximately a mile down a single track road. However, that means there's very little traffic. More horses than cars pass the property. Beautiful view from the conservatory. Owners who live next door are very friendly but leave you in peace. We enjoyed the hot tub !

What a gem! Absolutely perfect for a relaxing week away.
What a gem! Absolutely perfect for a relaxing week away. The owners had decorated the cottage for Christmas and left us an excellent bottle of their own home produced wine and eggs. A lovely thought and much appreciated. Tucked away but easily accessible to Gloucester and more local towns. Very comfortable and well equipped especially the log burner and the large hot tub. Who cares if December is cold and damp with that combination! No hesitation in recommending it.

Wonderful cottage.
Wonderful cottage. Very spacious, but cosy at the same time. Bright and comfortable conservatory for sitting and dining. Well equipped kitchen, shower room, and welcoming living area with easy to use log burner. Lovely garden, with table, chairs, sun loungers and summer house. It was great to unwind in the hot tub, overlooking the beautiful scenery. Overall a very relaxing place to stay.

Great cottage, very clean, well provisioned with milk, wine, flowers and cookies on arrival.
Great cottage, very clean, well provisioned with milk, wine, flowers and cookies on arrival. Hot tub a very welcome addition with spa robes to use with it. Very quiet location about 1.5 miles down a single track road; occasional cars and horses pass by but that's all. Shared garden very nice and summer house would be gorgeous in summer months with a view over a valley and vineyard. Meanwhile for cooler months the log burning stove was awesome. Nearest ameneties are a short car drive to Newent, so nothing in walking distance. Overall a lovely cottage and area.
