Katoomba Retreat Lotus Suite

The LOTUS SUITE is one of 2 private self-contained suites in an architect designed cypress retreat. Stunning escarpment and valley views from every room. Secluded, peaceful, but still close to the main Blue Mountains attractions, and wonderful local restaurants.

Features luxury spa, slow combustion wood fire, polished floors, thermostat heating, sundeck and verandah.

We have reverse cycle air conditioning for those occasional hot mountain days.

The Lotus Suite contains a large open plan living area, with 1 bedroom, spa bathroom, separate toilet, as well as the features listed below. The kitchenette is fully self-contained with a small oven, microwave oven, hotplates, fridge, kettle, toaster, and all the crockery, cutlery and pots and pans that you would require for your stay. There is also a BBQ on the deck with additional gas hotplate for your use. The Lotus Suite can sleep from 2 to 4 people.

Bed Configuration:

Downstairs Bedroom - Queen bed .
Upstairs living area - 1 Double Day Futon.

We supply blankets, doonas & pillows, but we give guests the option of bringing their own sheets & pillow cases & towels up to the Retreat.
Additional fee for bed linen is $15 pp per stay and additional fee for bath towels $15 pp per stay.
PLEAE ADVISE YOUR LINEN REQUIREMENTS AT TIME OF BOOKING .

Even though we have soundproofed the suites, we would like guests to know that either suite would not be suitable for guests who intend to make a lot of noise or have very noisy children.

Family weekend away

Lovely, cosy stay for a weekend getaway and only a short drive into the centre of Katoomba. The accommodation had good facilities and heating and was very peaceful overlooking the blue mountains. One of the highlights was the beautiful spa bath!

Stayed three nights in March 2026 so no coziness required - no AC or fire used. The property is a bit shabby - needs an update. There is an inbuilt bed which were around in the 70s (I had one in Nelson Bay) - pillows are sweat-stained and bedding is dated. Only good for a couple and a couple of kids as all in the same room and the window mattresses are not comfortable. It needs a good clean - kitchen hotplate needs replacing as rusty. Most foodstuffs out of date eg 2018. No coffee maker - basic inclusion in 2026! Floors are vinyl not wood. Fridge was turned up to the highest so everything froze, microwave had food bits in it. Dust and moths around the upstairs window. Screen door fell off, windows very difficult to open. Front garden needs attention - not at all welcoming. Back garden area could be improved - both green areas neglected. Very expensive for what it is and the need to pay for linen if can't bring own is a bit too much when paying such a high daily rate. Overall it appears to be a dated, basic space that purports to be a retreat but that means the view is nice and not much else. I did contact the person in the printed info at the accom but never answered. If it's architect-designed, it would have been in the 70s but I doubt that - probably just a builder. Overpriced and shabby. Better places to stay in the Mountains. Go elsewhere.

Hello and thank you for taking time to write this . The retreat is not modern , so that is why the furniture and bedding seem dated . The floors are wooden and not vinyl as most of the retreat is wood , including the built . I had another look into you trying to contact me and so sorry , I cant see any messages from you . For bed and or bath towels , when I took over the retreat a few years ago it was set this way and we found that most clients prefer this and many are returned clients and love this option . I will ask the cleaning team to look into the pillows and look at the fridge incase it is faulty , look into the hot plate and the moth on the upstairs window. The window seal mattress in the bedroom is not for sleeping , just to sit and relax The lotus suite sleeps 4 people max , 2 in the downstairs queen bed and 2 on the futon which is 6 months old as we replaced the old one. The Indian Haveli sleeps 8 max . Thank you for letting me know about the screen door , I will get it fixed. I am sorry our home disappointed you and thank you again for taking time to write a review . regards AK

Great views

I have to admit that I made this booking for a spa with a view but the spa sits too low to see the view. Still a very comfortable place and the view from the small balcony are stunning!

fantastic views, intimate setting

This was a great place to stay for a couple nights while hiking the Blue Mountains. The spaces are compact but intimate and well-arranged. All windows overlook gorgeous views. We've a few little bits of criticism: the overall feeling esp. in bathroom and lower level bedroom that it wasn't super clean, many stains on the cover of the seating area under the downstairs windows, and the toilet area didn't feel so clean. Secondly, the WiFi was rather spotty, so we had to rely on our cellular service much of the time. Thirdly, the BBQ on the porch, which we were looking forward to, is in fact what we would call a hot plate, a surface with gas heat underneath -- we used it since we brought meat to cook, but I wouldn't call it a BBQ. Still we had a great time on this trip and the convenience of the location, loveliness of views and porch were great. Also, Angela was very communicative, which we appreciated. Thank you.

Amazing surprise bday weekend !!!

The property was so cozy and just perfect. The views were stunning, the fireplace was so nice and warmed the whole house comfortably. The small touches were nice that the owners provide around the place , like flowers, ornaments, pictures, little bath salts / candles in the spa area . Coffee / tea and all basic kitchen products to cook with and little stove / oven to make some yummy dinners and breakfast. I will definitely be back very soon and loved experience Katoomba and visiting the 3 sisters and the local pubs/ cafes.

Views of the mountains

The property is in a quiet location with great views of the mountains. Layout is great and just the right size for two people. The off-street parking is tight but not an issue as it has a good turning bay. It's a personal preference but the smell of incense in the building was overwhelming - even in the cutlery drawer. The bathroom shower needed a better clean.

Great location, great stay, would do again!

Angela was quick with the information which was easy to follow. The place was perfectly situated for where we wanted to visit, it was a comfortable and cosy stay with an amazing view from the hot tub and balcony. Thanks for the stay, 10/10, would do again!
