This studio cottage sits on 5 acres of orchard, gulch and gardens with the Kohala coast as a backdrop. The owners farm the back 20 acres with cattle, sheep, goats and chickens. We are located midway between the towns of Hawi and Kapa'au--both known for their quaint shops and restaurants. Although only a 5-minute drive to town, the cottage is set back from the road and is completely surrounded by tall bamboo and ironwood trees ensuring a tranquil and private environment. Guests may wander the grounds to pick seasonal fruits, herbs and veggies, visit with the animals or kick back in a comfy hammock to enjoy the tradewinds. Complimentary Direct TV and internet are available for your convenience. There is a kitchenette complete with microwave, 2 burner hot plate, coffee maker, toaster oven, blender and refrigerator. It is fully supplied with dishes and cookware should you choose to prepare your own meals. There is a dining table with views of the front lawn and orchard and a country grocery store just across the street. The comfortable queen sized bed sleeps two and the bath has both tub and shower. Scenic Pololu Valley and lookout is a 20 minute drive to the north and Hapuna Beach State Park and Kohala resorts are a 25 minute drive to the south. Other activities in the area include kohala zip line, Upolu airport sky diving, and horse back riding. Farmers market at the HUB open on saturdays.

We enjoyed our stay so much!! The cottage is everything you need, want, and more! The property is beautiful and the views are breathtaking! Another added touch is the host Peggy. She is very welcoming and helpful! I would highly recommend this place can’t want to visit again!!
We loved our visit to the Big Island and staying at the Cozy Cottage. The setting was lovely, Peggy was an excellent host, and the location provided easy access to town. We highly recommend staying at the cozy cottage.
We received a recommendation from our neighbor for the farm and we are so glad we booked our stay. Peggy was so very welcoming and informative; we so enjoyed the area and the fresh squeezed OJ. We will book a future visit!
We had a wonderful stay at this charming and lovely cottage. The studio unit had everything we needed plus the beautiful green yard with palm trees to look out was very special. The hosts were very gracious to make us feel welcome. We felt very fortunate to have spent a week at this special cottage. We hope to return next year.
Peggy and Ken are wonderful host! The property and location were exactly as expected! The singing frogs at night were just so relaxing. Look forward to visiting Cozy Corner in the near future. This is a must stay property.

Amazingly generous hosts. Beautiful property with citrus fruit to pick/ eat fresh. Groceries right across the street. Lots of beautiful places to explore and access beach/ watching for whales. Cute little town of Hawi nearby, quiet an away from hustle of Kona. Great access Rds to Waimea / Hamakua Coastline. Very highly recommended stay!

It was just what we where looking for...a relaxing non resort after 5 days in 2 resort hotel on the water.Good bed ,kitchen and shower.Beautiful tropical setting.....Views of the Green grass and trees...the hosts Peggy and Ken where wonderful and very helpful. A Full Market across the street and 4 or 6 good places to eat close by within 5 minutes or much less.
Very friendly and accommodating hosts, Peggy and Ken, arigato gozaimashita! The VRBO off the coastal road opens like a Shangri-La. It is close to the "high road" to Waimea and the coastal road towards Kona, great views both ways. Highly recommend.
We loved staying here! First of all, Peggy and Ken are incredibly warm and welcoming and such genuinely nice people. Peggy left us many snacks and other treats, and the unit is very private and feels like your own tiny cottage. The bedding and towels were older but cotton, and we were finally able to be comfortable (other places had polyester sheets that ran hot)! The location was excellent although very tricky to find and it's easy to miss the turnoff. We would definitely stay here again!
My husband and I spent 5 days on the Big Island prior to going to a family reunion on Maui.
We participated and enjoyed the following activities on the north end of the island: King Kamehameha I Day (was within walking distance of the ceremony/statue), aikido (Aikido of Kohala), hiking, and snorkeling.
Our hosts, Peggy and Ken, were excellent. Present if we needed anything but not intrusive. Beautiful property.
7/7-8/23 We stayed at this clean, comfortable, and charming studio cottage to be close to our niece’s wedding in Niuli’i. The sounds of the coqui frogs, light rain, and cool breeze lulled us to sleep. The view of the yard from the picture window each morning was relaxing, too. Peggy was friendly and accommodating the moment she greeted us upon arrival. She offered eggs from her chickens and fruit from her trees. On our final morning, Peggy brought over freshly baked breakfast cookies and two types of papaya. What a delightful surprise that was! Given the opportunity, we would definitely stay again. Thank you for sharing a piece of your tranquil paradise!
The cottage was attached to the garage and it was always quiet. Beautiful views from the kitchen table when having morning coffee. They have chickens, ducks, cows, sheep and maybe some things I didn't see. The north end of the island doesn't have any of the out of control drunk tourists that the resorts have. Always a breeze. If you need AC then you should choose another property. There is a grocery store right across from the property. Within 5 minutes of driving, there are places to eat. Not big restaurants. King's View cafe has great food and drinks. It's directly across from King Kamehameha statue and visitor center. Too many nature adventures to list here. The host was so friendly and took us on a tour of the farm. If you like quiet, this is your place. All you hear is the frogs at night.
This is a quiet and beautiful spot to stay in the northern area of the island. Peggy was warm, welcoming and full of information. We would love to stay there again.
Down-shift from the hectic pace of Honolulu. My husband and I wanted a way to celebrate our anniversary with a restful yet memorable getaway. We couldnt be more happy with the Cozy Cottage in Kapa'au!
What can I say, Peggy and Ken made me feel like a guest in their home. The cottage is as advertised. The bed was amazing. The gentle breezes lulled me to sleep and I was able to eat all my meals in the home. the grocery is a 3 minutes walk to the end of the driveway. Everything you need to cook is there and they provided fresh fruit and lemonade. If you want to be away from the tourists and just relax, this is the place. I am a little hesitant to tell people about this place to keep it to myself but that wouldn't be right. I got up early every morning and hiked down Polulu Valley and had it to myself. This is also not a bad place for honeymooners either. Mahalo Peggy and Ken.
A great place to catch your breath, so peaceful great host.

Peggy and Kent are the bests hosts. So warm and friendly. The apartment so nice and homey. Fresh fruit off the trees. Beautiful grounds. We didn’t want to leave.
Aloha
The property is beautiful. The room is a studio but, very comfortable with nice extra touches. Hawi is small. Still, there were a few things within walking distance. Lots of beautiful unspoiled Hawaii very near by.
The setting was so beautiful. A lush, expansive, grassy lawn surrounded by gorgeous tropical trees and shrubs, a few ducks and hens roaming peacefully around the grounds. Very quiet, private, and peaceful.
The room was comfortable and had everything we needed to cook a light meal or to just sit and relax.
Peggy and Ken were wonderful hosts, checking in from time to time to see if they could help us in any way.
We'll certainly be back.
