About this property

Sleeping Porch tucked in Spearfish Canyon - Outpost Cabin

Step back to a simpler kind of stay.

Built in 1936, Outpost is one of the original Wickiup Cabins—full of rustic charm and that nostalgic Parent Trap feel. Tucked into the canyon (not creekside), it offers a quieter, cozy retreat with the same authentic cabin experience.

Outpost sleeps up to 4 with a queen bed in the main cabin and two twin beds in the enclosed sleeping porch—perfect for families or a small group. Inside, you’ll find a kitchenette with stovetop and full-size fridge, private bathroom, gas fireplace for heat, and all linens and basic cookware provided. Coffee maker, coffee, and filters are ready for easy mornings.

This isn’t a modern hotel—it’s a clean, comfortable, intentionally rustic cabin where cool canyon air and quiet nights do the work.

Outside, enjoy your own charcoal grill and access to shared outdoor spaces. Hiking, fishing, and ATV trails are all close by.

Dogs are welcome (up to 2) with a $25/day/dog fee. Please keep them leashed outdoors and kenneled if left unattended.

Bring food and clothing—Wickiup has the rest.
