The Space:
A storybook retreat on the South Course of the Indian Canyons Golf Resort, Villa Vista has the ambiance of a Spanish country home, with an elaborate fountain on sprawling lawns, covered patios beneath arched doorways, and a classic terracotta roof. An expansive back garden, surrounded by a lush privacy wall, you’ll enjoy unobstructed views of the San Jacinto Mountain range from multiple lounge areas. Sip a cocktail on a chaise, float lazily in the pool, or, when the evening cools, soak in the hot tub. A formal, covered dining area invites you to gather cocktails or dinner al fresco. A barbecue grill will help you get started. As you step inside, you’ll find chic living areas boasting vintage chandeliers, tiled floors and hand-carved ceilings and updated furniture. Recently renovated by local designers Michael Ostrow and Roger Stoker in a European style, each room boasts luxurious fabrics, Spanish-inspired artwork and a touch of Palm springs whimsy. In the great room, gather around the grand piano, get cozy by the fireplace with a glass of wine from the wet bar (complete with wine cooler and icemaker), or simply take in the surrounding views from floor-to-ceiling windows. A separate, stylish den features comfy sofas and a second fireplace, ideal for catching up with old friends a good book. The great room opens onto a charming eat-in kitchen with a four-seat breakfast table and three additional seats at the breakfast bar. For group dinners, a formal dining room seats eight. All three bedroom suites are styled in elegant decor, each with unique flourishes added by Ostrow and Stoker. Each has a king-sized bed, en-suite bath, and Smart TV with high-definition cable and Netflix access. The spacious master suite, which opens onto the garden through a private entrance, has a charming sitting area, ideal for morning coffee, a fireplace and massive en-suite bathroom with a soaking tub and walk-in shower. Although Villa Vista offers a feeling of total seclusion, surrounded by mountains in Indian Canyon, the lively culture and entertainment of Palm Springs is just 10 minutes away. Explore the town’s galleries, shops and restaurants, or take the famed Palm Springs Aerial Tramway for spectacular views. To fully reconnect with nature, spend a day in Joshua Tree National Park, accessible in just over an hour.
