If you need more space, ask us to add the basement addition, which adds a second family room with gas fire place, a second kitchen, 1 Queen Bedroom, 1 additional bath and creates sleeping space for 16 in the entire house rental of both floors.

Located in the quaint village of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, Lava House is a 2-level, 4-bedroom, 2 bath, 2 kitchen vacation home with all the charm and comforts you'd expect.

Our little town is a great place for a getaway. Ride a tube down the Portneuf River as it winds through town, enjoy the swimming pools and the speed slides, soak in the natural hot springs, hike, bike, fish, golf, ride your ATV... whatever. We invite you to relax, recharge and rejuvenate here in our quiet little river valley.

Perfect Family Get-away in Lava Hot Springs

The property was perfect for our family’s needs. The rooms were spacious and there was plenty of space to move around. The location was great for easily getting around Lava Hot Springs and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful.

Our stay was great. The location is close to everything and the house is very nice. Just be sure to book the entire house because the extra room will be useful. Enjoy your trip.

Clean, well-stocked vacation rental home in Lava Hot Springs.

We stayed her for 3 days with our adult and teen children. Very clean and well-stocked rental-- definitely above the average when it comes to nightly vacation rentals. It was obvious that the owners cared about the upkeep and condition of the home. The home was within walking distance of the grocery store and close to the city pool and also the shuttle spot for the river tubing. We had a very enjoyable stay. It does look like the owner will rent the property through their private listing (rather than this current site). I think the pricing might be a little cheaper that way and if we come to Lava Hot Springs again, I will rent this property via that method. On this site, it wasn't obvious that both the upper and lower part of the home were available to rent separately or together. I did not necessarily need the extra space downstairs this time around, but I would have likely rented it if I had known it was available, just for the convenience of the extra bedroom and bathroom located downstairs. I would stay here again on future visits.

Great home

We had a full kitchen that we were able to make breakfast and dinner. The neighborhood was quiet and Jeff and Laurel were great. The beds were comfortable and the house was stocked with everything we needed. We are making plans to stay here again.

We felt very uneasy....

The owner is extremely fastidious about cleaning. During check in she literally lectured me on how to use wash clothes; surveyed who was wearing mascara in our group and wondered if she has left enough make up wipes for us; spent a very long time explaining how the thermostat was programmed.; she got very nervous when my daughter placed a cup on the table without a coaster. In addition, there was a big sign describing how to clean the house ending by saying the house needs to be returned to them in the same condition we received it; she showed us where to find the vacuum and mop. After all this, we felt very uncomfortable being in the house. She made us feel like we were staying in her house for free as guests and that we owed her something. This is NOT how the hospitality business works — we are paying for the house and part of that includes having it cleaned after we leave!!! We are not pigs, but we are NOT going to return it in the same pristine condition. It felt like the owner was eager for our money, but resented us actually being in the house. Also, the place doesn’t have a washer/dryer. The tv doesn’t have Netflix or other streaming options. The pans were difficult to use because everything stuck to them. We have stayed in many different places in Lava. We won’t return to this one.

Perfect place in Lava

We have stayed at this house multiple times over the years and have enjoyed every stay. Very clean. Great owners. Wonderful location. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting Lava.
