This was our third time renting the house. We have enjoyed each visit! Thanks for the new Mailbox with house # on it! It makes the dirt road easier to find!
Property manager had excellent communication. Description was very accurate - liked that they were up front about the musty smell in the basement. It was there - but not horrible. Lovely home and setting. Close to so many wonderful Maine harbor towns.
Perfect location, nearby multiple attractions in Rockport, Camden and Rockland. Cabin was perfect for our family of six with 2 toddlers. Had everything we needed. Property manager quick to respond to text, email and phone. Had a couple issues that couldn't be predicted, yellow jackets nest under deck, will be cleared by exterminator, horde of flies one day inside with weather change better after we went on fly swatting mission our 3 yr old had a ball, 2nd floor toilet water going on and off has plumber coming to fix. Overall a great stay.
This home was a perfect place for our family to stay! The location was convenient for us to see all the sites in Maine we were hoping to. The kids had fun at beaches nearby, and we were very close for lobster festival. The house is a clean and spacious and set the tone for a very relaxing vacation! I would definitely recommend and revisit in the future!
Upon our arrival we found the house and property looked every bit as beautiful as the listing photos. The house is very open, warm, and comfortable. We recieved a message from Laurie about an issue with the A/C which she had taken care of promptly. We loved sleeping on the loft and preparing meals in the spacious kitchen and on the deck grill. Our pooch, Oliver found many places to sleep while we were there. He loved the walks around the property every morning and evening. We enjoyed the end of every day sitting on the deck. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to another stay in the future.
Stayed at the property for little over a week and it was wonderful. Kitchen had everything you could need to cook dinner and a tv with all the channels was such a nice bonus (never had this before). Everything was clean and exactly as shown in the pictures. Highly recommend.
We were part of the Salzedo Summer Harp Colony reunion/celebration in Camden, ME in July. I chose this property b/c of its easy access in getting our harps unloaded and into the house. The rustic feel of the log home was an ideal venue for us.
Super private location, very spacious & beautiful log cabin open floor layout w/ downstairs apartment was just what we wanted! We absolutely loved this house & so close to the main streets of Rockport & Camden. Thank you very much for allowing us to explore & experience your gorgeous home!
We loved our stay and would go again in a heartbeat! The cabin has a full finished in-law suite in the basement so there was plenty of room for 2 couples and our grown son. It was very easily accessible to many different areas. The property manager was also very accessible and helpful. The cabin was built in 1980 (I think), and there are some touches from that era within it. We found it charming. We ate a lot of our meals in and the kitchen has everything we needed, so that was really nice (and helped us save money). One thing worth knowing is the master suite/loft is open - including the bathroom area (there's a door to the toilet). It wasn't an issue for us, just a small surprise.Again, we loved our stay and would absolutely come back to this lovely house and area.
Very comfortable and quiet. Only complaint (which I have almost anywhere we go) is I wish there was a manual on how to operate the TV. They are all different and it took a lot to figure out.
We were thourghly pleased with our stay at the cabin. It is secluded and down it's own lane. There are neighbors but you don't even know they are there. Google maps does have a small hiccup and sends you to another property but had no bearing on how much we enjoyed the cabin. The space in the cabin is incredible and has plenty of room. As for location i felt it was perfect for us. We were able to see many sights all within an hour drive and there is a walmart approximately 4 miles away as well. Thank you for sharing your property with us!!!
Gorgeous house inside and out- perfect for larger families!
The pictures (as good as they are) don't even do it justice- the place is AMAZING!! 8 of us were completely comfortable without ever feeling like we were on top of each other. We even had 4 add'l family members (staying about 20 min. away) over for the day and STILL felt like there was SO MUCH SPACE. Def. the best property we've ever stayed at both from a cleanliness standpoint but even more so, from a spacious & true "getaway" …. and we've stayed at MANY over the last 13 years of vacationing. Thank you, Laurie for the most wonderful time ever!
Wonderful place to stay. I would strongly encourage the owners to add more pictures and pictures with labels of bedroom and bathroom locations with the photos. This property was larger than the few photos indicated and was perfect for our group of 3 separate family groups. Would also encourage including a privacy screen with the loft master suite to allow for more privacy if required-we used blankets over the railing. Complaints about musty smell in basement are valid but property owner doing everything possible to mitigate. Wife and I stayed in basement and damp smell wasn’t overbearing for us and the benefit of a completely separate living area in the basement far outweighed any concern. Will rent again if price remains reasonable.
Despite an extremely rainy and foggy week, we had a fun time at this Rockport log cabin. While we would have preferred a warm and sunny week, this spacious log cabin was a comfortable home away from home. The home is exceptionally private, well equipped, has lovely gardens. Our teen granddaughters found the frog pond in the front yard captivating. We couldn’t convince them that there might be a Prince Charming among the lily pads. As a base of operations, the cabin was conveniently located to Camden, Rockland, and Rockport.
We did have a few plumbing issues, but the property manager responded quickly to any concerns.
As noted in other reviews, there is a musty odor in the basement level, but our granddaughters didn’t complain; they were psyched to have the lower level all to themselves.
My family and I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful, secluded cabin in the woods. If you want privacy, this is for you. Keep in mind that access is an easily driven dirt road. For us, that just added to its allure. One can easily stroll around the property, taking in the flowers, vegetation, and the sounds of the frogs talking to you out front. :)
The house was beautifully detailed and spacious. The loft contained a tub, walk in shower, washer/dryer, reading room, and spacious sleeping area with a balcony and skylights. It's perfect. My, only advice on the loft is that if you go to bed early while others stay up its probably better if you didn't sleep up there.
The first floor has a large kitchen with two sinks, a dishwasher, a counter to sit at, and is well stocked with all the pots, pans, and utensils you will need. They even have a lobster pot which we used. The first floor also contains a living room, fireplace, dining table, a half bath, a bedroom, and access to a deck, with a grill and plenty of room
The "basement" is more of an apartment. Two bedrooms, a full bath, living room, dining table, and a kitchenette. It can get musty. Thats to be expected. It's a basement in the country not a showstopper. With use and air flow it dissipates.
It was a pleasure meeting Laurie. She's kind, attentive and kept us informed
We would definitely stay again and highly recommend this cabin to all who enjoy country living and all that goes with being in a cabin in the woods.
This was our first experience with a VRBO type property and was very pleased. Location was very private but within biking distance of Rock port and Camden. Lot's of room, and so nice to come home to at the end of the day! Nice central location along the coast. Easy day trips to Freeport, Bar Harbor, etc. Home was very well stocked with everything we needed from kitchen to bedding. Everything was perfect, felt just like home!!
No matter which direction you go there is stuff to do. Acadia, York, Bar Harbor, and so much more.
House had Lots of space! 3 adults, 3 older teenagers, and one child could comfortably share this space. It is quiet. And the adorable frogs in the tiny pond outfront.

Nice house. Kitchen could use more cookware. There was a moldy smell in the basement section of the house which made it hard to occupy that part of it, so that should be made very clear on the description of it.
