This is the best the coast has to offer! This beautiful sound front cottage comes with all the amenities with a private pier and a new in-ground pool. This cottage is really 2 homes in one. The upstairs cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The beautiful downstairs apartment has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The large backyard is excellent for weddings, grilling, and having the whole family together for a wonderful time. Enjoy the pier and get a great tan, play in the water or catch some fresh fish.

If you want to go beach-combing, a walk in the sunset, or catch the next best wave it's only a short walk to the beach. Inside enjoy all of the comforts of home with a nicely appointed kitchen, 5 bedrooms, excellent living area, and tremendous views of Bogue Sound! Relax in the living room or the soft plush couches in the sunroom while enjoying the sounds, smell, and views on the maritime coast.


This wonderful Carolina beach home is a gem to behold. Already great we're adding some new style and access to add to the charm of this great vacation home!!

The property is great! We've stayed here before and plan on coming back. The kitchen is well equipped and the upstairs house is roomy enough that you can relax either in the tv area or on the sun porch area looking over the pool and sound. It's a very short walk to the beach and the pool area is nice and clean. The owner is very responsive to all text messages. Can't wait to return next year.

We absolutely loved this vacation! The house was very clean and perfect for our family of young adult children and their partners. The kitchen was well stocked, beach access was really convenient and the pool in the backyard was a fun place to relax. But the highlight for us? Watching the sunset from the gazebo at the end of the private pier. So peaceful!

Cozy sound front

This house is great for a family stay, especially if you have adult children. They have a private apartment downstairs. They have everything you need for cooking and to make coffee.

Best of both worlds!

What a wonderful time and wonderful place to stay! Our family of 9 (8 adults and one toddler) thoroughly enjoyed our week at Sounds Great. Turns out, we had the best of both worlds being on the Sound and 3 minutes from the ocean! My favorite place was on the dock at the end of the pier...by myself, with a book. In fact, I may have taken a nap there! :) The continual breeze was so refreshing. My 26- yr-old daughter and her two Aussies LOVED fishing from the pier. She and her fiancé brought their kayaks too! My husband LOVED the sun room facing the Sound and spent many hours there reading and napping. Our oldest daughter and her toddler and fiancé said the pool was the best--clean, pretty, well located and convenient, etc The decor was especially fun and colorful, and the kitchen was well stocked. Food Lion was 8 miles away, Dollar General down the street, Aquarium one mile away, and jet ski rental literally a walk down the street. But QUIET and PEACEFUL. Emerald Isle was a pleasure and so relaxing! Our family spent a ton of time on the deck overlooking the pool and the Sound. Yes, the weather was beautiful...but even if it had rained, Sounds Great would have been a great place to hang out with family. The owner Joyce was very responsive to anything we needed...although the place was so well kept that we really needed nothing. (I had asked before we arrived about a crock pot and a high chair...and they were sitting out for me when we got there! Joyce also had provided us with free t-shirts. Those little extras meant a lot.) We WILL BE BACK!! Jay & Lisa Charlotte

House met all of our needs and in a great location on the sound with very short walk to public beach access. Had a minor mechanical issue but the PDL team was very quick to respond and correct the situation which was much appreciated.Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect soundside home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sounds Great! The home is well taken care of, clean, and a great location for a beach trip. The part of the island where the home is located is only three houses wide, with a beach access a couple hundred yards away. We enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets over the sound, and being able to come back to the pool after being on the beachThe house is well stocked in terms of pots and pans, utensils…. Plan to bring your paper products and kitchen staples (oil, salt, pepper…) but otherwise unpack and enjoy.

Husband’s Dream

This house was perfect for my husband’s dream beach trip. He loves to fish and with the house having its own private pier and covering, he was able to fish everyday. He caught his own bait as well. We loved the pool as well. The only con was the downstairs looked bigger in the pics than it actually was. We would book this house again

Ideal place for family or friends get together

With ideal weather to only enhance our stay, we couldn’t have asked for a nicer vacation home. Five queen bedrooms, one of which had its own bathroom, a dining area to seat 7 or 8, incredible view, our own pier, tons of seating areas all over the house including outdoor areas, a pristine pool—I could go on and on. Fishermen were catching shrimp right at our dock and sold us shrimp at a dollar a pound! We had shrimp scampi one night and shrimp and grits to die for another. We stayed there in the early Fall which made for easy access to the ocean a short walk away, and driving was a snap because hardly any cars were on the road. There are two Dollar General stores one 1.4 miles East and one 2.8 miles west. At both ends of the Isle were Food Lions and Publix.

Perfect spot!

My husband, two sons/fiancés, and myself thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is in a perfect place! The beautiful view of the water and sitting out on the pier is very peaceful and relaxing. The beach is right across the street, walking distance. We enjoyed sitting on the Sun porch when it was cool outside because the windows allow you to see outside with a beautiful view. The house cozy, clean, and perfect for a family or a group of friends. The property manager was amazing!!! Great communication, no hassles at all, gave perfect instructions. We hope to stay again next year! SG

Great Location

House is very close to the beach access and the dock is awesome for fishing. The house setup is a bit awkward, the downstairs and upstairs is not connected and you have to go outside to get to the washer/dryer (not ideal during a tropical storm). Kitchen is small and needs updating.

Wonderful stay

The house was perfect for a large family with two small kids. We brought our 28ft boat down with us and we’re able to take it out daily with the ease of keeping it on the pier. Everything about our stay was amazing. Perfect house for small kids who love to explore all rooms and cabinets
