About this property

Pet Friendly Cabin with Game Loft, Hot Tub + Fireplace

Overlooking woodlands of the Great Smoky Mountains, A Walk in the Clouds is an idyllic cabin for an intimate getaway for two. A Walk in the Clouds includes an outdoor hot tub and a jetted tub in the bedroom—just the thing to get you in the mood for romance—the log cabin has its own pool table, foosball and air hockey, so you might not be able to resist bringing the kids along too.

As soon as you enter the A-frame cabin, you’ll see just how much loving care went into creating it. The planked-wood floor, walls and vaulted ceiling gleam, as does the handcrafted spiral stair leading up to the loft. In winter, the golden glow from the stone-surround fireplace will make the open-plan living spaces feel even more inviting if that’s possible.

The plump-cushioned sofa is a cozy spot for nesting together as you watch a movie on the flat-panel 42-inch TV. It has a DVD player and cable channels including HBO, so you can keep up with your favorite shows. The sofa also opens into a comfy bed for two.

The polished log dining table can seat up to four people. Given that there’s a picnic table on the deck, though, we have a feeling you’ll want to eat outside every chance you get. The fresh mountain breeze rustling through the trees and the sight of falcons and eagles swooping above the mountaintops will turn any meal into a special occasion.

You can cook outside as well, on the charcoal grill. Fresh-caught trout tastes especially fabulous grilled, so this just might inspire you to try your luck at a nearby stream! A Walk in the Clouds has a fully equipped indoor kitchen too, of course. Appliances, gadgets, pots, pans, tableware, even a dishwasher—the cabin has it all. Take advantage of the free Wi-Fi to search for new recipes to try!

The bedroom with private bathroom shows why A Walk in the Clouds is honeymoon worthy. The four-poster log-frame queen-size bed is marvelously luxurious, as is the bedroom’s jetted tub. After a day of skiing, hiking or golfing, pamper your tired muscles with a restorative soak.

Or better yet, make it a soak for two outdoors, in the hot tub that looks out toward the mountains from the screened-in porch. As mesmerizing as the view is during the day, the experience is even more romantic at night, among the silvery moonlight and the serenade of the whip-poor-wills.

The loft level offers diversions of a different sort: a pool table, air hockey, foosball and another TV. If you’re vacationing with the kids, you’ll always know where you can find them! We’ll provide all the towels and bedding you need. Leave yours at home where they belong! In fact, you can pack lighter than usual, as A Walk in the Clouds has a washer and dryer.

Given the serenity and seeming seclusion of the setting, you might think the cabin far from the area’s attractions and shops. But in less than five minutes, you can drive from A Walk in the Clouds to downtown Gatlinburg, with its wealth of restaurants, an aquarium, mini golf and a host of other attractions. Less than 10 minutes away is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with its hiking trails, historic cabins, waterfalls and wildlife ranging from black bears to elk. Also conveniently close is the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, an eight-mile trail of more than 100 galleries, studios and craft shops.

When you stay at A Walk in the Clouds, you’ll never run out of things to do, in either the cabin or the immediate vicinity. But you’ll also be able to relish the grandeur of nature and the simple pleasures of one another’s company. So go ahead and reserve your stay today—you definitely won’t regret it!

had a wonderful stay at this cabin

The cabins were very close, the roads to the cabin were terrible. The Cabin was very nice and clean, brought our own towels, the bed was very comfortable. The upstairs were very hard to get up and down for older folks, but children could easily. Also, 3Bears got into my van and luckily, we were able to get them out before they tore it up. We had a great time staying in this cabin.

Lovely mountain getaway!

A charming cabin with everything you need and location is perfect! Great views and we saw bears right out front! House is well stocked and decorated so cute! Really just what you’d want for a mountain stay. We did have trouble with the door code…sent text to management co. And got no response. Eventually found an 800 number and got access to a key. We would stay here again. Thank you!

TV didnt work, it would come on then shut itself off, in the middle of the night it would turn itself on.Hot tub jets didn't work!Jacuzzi, was so loud and instructions said to leave on at all times, we couldnt enjoy the deck, ridiculously loud. Very nice cabin

We enjoyed everything about our stay. The view was much better than expected. Very clean and all wood construction in the inside, so you get the real log cabin experience. Bring any extra paper towels, dishwashing detergent and laundry detergent, as these are provided in small supply. I would happily stay here again.

Worst customer service

Stove didn’t work for a day and half out of a 3 day stay. Fuse box unassailable and locked. How is that even legal. Games broken with screws sticking out and dangerous for children to use. Very disappointing after months of anticipation and planning not to mention the added expense of eating meals out that I brought food for to prepare.

Great cabin!

Really enjoyed our week in this cabin! Contrary to some of the reviews, the views are excellent and the cabin is very private. Kitchen is smaller than I thought but to be honest, who cooks while on vacation. It has all the appliances, pans and utensils needed. Love the shower and the bed is very comfortable. Stay here, you'll love it.

Bears galore

Our stay at A Walk in the Clouds was very enjoyable, quiet and entertaining. We arrived to a very clean and comfortable cabin in a very quiet neighborhood. The bed was comfortable, the porch was great to sit and enjoy coffee and quiet time. There were a few minor cltches but nothing to interfere with our stay. If you enjoy seeing bears in their natural habitat this is the place to be. We encountered bears 9 different times. We will definitely be back and recomment this cabin to couples.

Perfect Anniversary Getaway

A Walk in The Clouds was perfect for our anniversary getaway. Loved the convenient parking and the cabin was spotless. It's the perfect size for two with a great view. We enjoyed the hot tub with privacy during the chilly mornings and evenings. Convenient to everything. We actually walked into town and avoided the parking nightmare and walked back up. The kitchen had everything we needed. The upstairs game room was a plus even though we didn't make time to use it. Very cozy place and quiet cabin. Will definitely book it again when it's just the two of us.

Nice cabin. Not the greatest view of the mountains.

Overall nice stay. Hot tub smells like mold. Bed needs be a king size. Pans need updating. Christmas tree needs to be put somewhere else as I almost hit my head 4 times on the spiral staircase walking around couch coming in the house.

Comfortable cabin close to Gatlinburg

I found this cabin to be exactly as advertised. It was clean and comfortable and perfect for two of us and our dog. The cabin faces west so we enjoyed an incredible sunset from the screened in porch. The kitchen could probably be better equipped but we were only there for 2 nights and were able to make our meals with no problem. The cabin is close to Gatlinburg, would probably be fine to walk there if it weren't for the very steep hill where the cabin is situated. That was fine for us since we weren't there to go into town but just something to note for anyone else wishing to be within walking distance.

Spouse getaway!

We had a great experience at A Walk in the Clouds! It is super close to downtown Gatlinburg, but not so close that you get caught in the large crowds. Everything was super clean, which we really appreciated. The gas fireplace is super user friendly and provides a lot of warmth in the cabin. The cabin has a lot of space for just two people. You could easily stay here with one or two children on the couch or an air mattress; kids would love the loft! It’s also nice having an open air porch as well as a screened in one for the hot tub. The mattress is firm, but comfortable. There is no ceiling fan in the bedroom, so if you have to have a fan to sleep, I would suggest bringing one. All in all, it was a great experience and we hope to stay here again soo!

Adorable mountain cabin, close to town

This was one of the nicest Vrbos we’ve stayed in, in its class, and we’ve stayed in many ! It is small, as advertised, but the furniture is comfortable and we loved that it was so close to town without being in town. The only minor criticism I have is that there was no place to store non-perishable food. The cabinets in the kitchen were filled with dishes etc. so our food had to sit on the counter and there is not much counter space to begin with (expected as this is a small cabin). A small cabinet in which to store food would be very helpful. It could be a free standing one in the corner behind the table. If you’re not planning to cook at all, this might be irrelevant, but we only wanted to cook breakfast and it was annoying. If you intend to cook dinners, it would probably be very annoying. Other than that, this house was delightful.

Disappointed

This visit was so disappointing, it was very expressive just for a one night stay and as soon as we walked in there was a very overwhelming smell of urine. The while cabin smelled like a men's urinal. There was hair in the shower still and pee stains and dirt in the couch mattress which had no protective cover on. The floor in the bathroom was rotten in front of the shower. We could have stayed at the Biltmore and had change for what we spent in one night here.

The cabin was excellent. Great location. Easy access to Gatlinburg. Short drive to Pigeon Forge.ge

The cabin is within 5 minutes of Gatlinburg. You can take backroads to center of town without having to use main street. You can take 321 to arts and craft community which is also a back way into Pigeons Forge. The cabin itself is very nice and well maintained. The loft in the cabin has a pool table, air hockey and more. Comfortable bed. If you get tire of walking and need to kick back for a while the cable connected TV has tons of channels. Half of the back deck is screened with a hot tub and half is open aired. We stayed in this cabin in August of this year. The stay was so perfect we came back and stayed there again in October of this year. An additional plus was being pet friendly we brought our Maltese with us. Even though it is pet friendly, the cabin is so well maintained and cleaned after eack person stay you would never know that any pets had stayed there. It has become our cabin of choice anytime we would rent a cabin in Gatlinburg.

Okay stay

This was our first stay in Gatlinburg... there is seriously so much to do!! The cabin was cute but isn’t as big as it appears in the photos. There was more than enough room for the two of us but would have been crowded if there were four as it states it sleeps. I am assuming the couch pulls out into a bed but the couch itself seemed older and needed to be replaced. There isn’t even enough room for four people to sit comfortably in the living room to chat or watch TV. The cabin Itself was clean and cozy. We didn’t cook during our visit so I cannot comment on the cookware use but it did seem like there was very little there. The hot tub was nice and clean... very easy to use. Also take note that the bed is very firm if this isn’t something you prefer. The loft game area would be perfect for the kids. It does get hot up there but if needed could be used for an air mattress as there was room. We chose this location due to the proximity to the center of Gatlinburg. We thought maybe we could walk... this isn’t the case. The hills are very steep to walk up, it isn’t an easy leisurely walk. All in all, it was a good stay but rather pricey for what you got.
