Granddaughters “13th” birthday and doing Polar Express
It was a very nice cabin, had some trouble opening lock box, but it was my fault…the remote for the tv was missing, but we made it work. Very nice, clean, equipped cabin.
The sound of the creek and surroundings was wonderful. The house was cozy and well equipped. The fire pit was perfect for campfire cooking. Great location close to grocery stores, gas and multitude of activities.
Would stay again and recommend property to others but would share challenges. (see below).
Challenges:
Listing does not have correct phone#s for Property Manager - she shared correct phone # in pre-trip email communication.
We were not prepared for lack of cell phone service so unable to reach property manager or others upon arrival.
Steep climb on loose gravel from parking area to house steps to unload and reload luggage and groceries.

Wonderful Getaway
We absolutely enjoyed our weekend away. The home was very welcoming and spacious. Spent both evenings by the fire pit. Only complaint was the low water pressure in the showers and no wifi. Don't get me wrong, it was great to be "off the grid", but for a momma and daddy weekend away - it was worrisome that our kids couldn't get in touch with us.
We had a fantastic stay and made day trips to Asheville, Pigeon Forge, Cashiers, and more. We were able to easily find items around the house and the tv worked great. We visited waterfalls and truly enjoyed nature. There is spotty cell service at this house, it honestly isn’t that what you are looking for? A great time to unplug!
Loved the home and fire pit area! It was perfect for our weekend for a WCU game to see the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band!! We have two to go to rent places! We will be back! Cheryll is a sweetheart!! Loved the antiques and out side cook stove too!!
We got there it was so relaxing and sitting outside hearing the creek . A crane flew in and landed. We got pictures and the hummingbirds everyone was so relaxed and thankful no intertnet. So we really loved spending time with family.
Great house super nice owners noone sent us email or anything with lockbox code no cell service owner even came to house and he didn't no we were gonna be there other than that awesome place tonstay
Enjoyed the cabin. The location was convenient to all the things we had planned to do. The house had everything needed. We stayed 5 nights. The is beautiful mountain stream across the street. They had a woodstove outside near the cabin and a grill we used also.
The property is conveniently located close enough to run to town or to start a day in the Smoky Mountain National Park. The house was great, very clean and even had fresh flowers waiting for us. They supplied everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. We had a great stay!
This home was the perfect location to hiking, fishing, restaurants in a variety of towns, and relaxing in nature. Every morning I woke up and enjoyed coffee listening to the stream and at night I fell asleep listening to the whippoorwill's song. We went on adventures during the day and relaxed by the fire in the evenings and enjoyed smores. Thanks Penny's for your hospitality and sharing your home with us.
