It was a real pleasure to have Darren and his friends to stay. Communication was easy and the cottage was very well looked after. I hope you have a great rest of 2026, Darren!
We had a wonderful stay in Susie’s cottage. It’s such a beautiful home in the countryside. Our 3 young boys really enjoyed the swimming pool which was perfect and the games room in the cottage provided never ending fun! We also enjoyed badminton and football in the garden and a lovely walk through the forest. It’s truly a very special place and we will certainly be looking to rerun as a family again! I highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing retreat in the countryside. The cottage is a good size with lovely bedrooms and bathrooms and we enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. Thank you Susie for hosting us so well!!
A very enjoyable week, the property being situated in a lovely area with beautiful grounds. We had a quiet and relaxed week. Susie was very helpful recommending local places to eat which were all excellent.
The Cottage is set in a lovely location next to the owners large house. Loads of parking , plenty of room in lounge and sun terrace, spiral staircase up to kitchen, main bathroom and bedrooms. All well equipped, clean with windows that open. Would stay here again if in the same area.
Beautiful place and excellent host. You’ll love everything about this place from gorgeous grounds and countryside setting to the fully kitted games room to the spiral stairs leading to a huge bedroom plus second bedroom and kitchen. Susan even sorted a long mirror so that my wife can wear her saree properly:)
Ideal location for our stay for a family wedding. Games room was great, rooms comfortable & kitchen facilities good. Lovely host & check-in and cottage/local information easy to follow & comprehensive.Only comments are that the stairs are not ideal if you’re infirm or for young children & one of the bedrooms has no loo, so need to use the downstairs one.
Lovely cottage in the most beautiful part of the South Downs
The cottage is at a quiet and very charming location. Cottage is more than large enough for the two of us,
Nice hikes possible from the cottage, but of course many options in the rest of the South Downs park.
Close to Petersfield with enough shops and coffee places,
Our host Susie was very helpful.
Kitchen needed a cheese grater and a small ommlette pan and maybe on more small saucepan.Dishwasher a bonus. All rooms were clean and cobweb free.Shower door was unable to vlise but still useable.Goid hot water supply, and a very warm place.
Stayed for afew days for a wedding, our stay also included New Years eve. The cottage was perfect for the 4 of us with more space than we were expecting. We had a great time playing games and sitting round the log fire talking. The wi-fi was also good which was great for streaming movies etc. The weather was a bit wild when we were there so we didnt get the most from the walks that are on the door step. Good communication from Susie throughout our stay. Would certainly stay again.
Four adults (two couples) stayed at the cottage during the Goodwood Revival. Great location, fantastic views and wonderful amenities at the cottage. We ended each evening with ping pong and pool! The kitchen set up was easy to navigate and the access to Liphook was useful for runs to the shop or even a take out pizza from Guido's. We wish the weather had been better to allow us to take advantage of the sitting in the garden area. Susie is a great hostess!
Can’t fault our wonderful stay in this lovely cottage on stunning grounds. Sue was brilliant at communicating throughout and so thoughtful with her suggestions and little touches like age appropriate toys left at the house.
We are a family ranging in age from 20months to 70+ and all enjoyed every minute!
Thank you Sue and family for having us!
We will be back x

The setting is lovely and, with some investment and maintenance, this could easily become a very pleasant place to stay again.Unfortunately, the property is currently in serious need of refurbishment. I have reviewed around 40 holiday properties and always try to be fair and helpful. This is the first poor review I have left. I contacted the host first with photographic evidence but received no response. Had I not been staying with my five-year-old granddaughter, we would have left on the first day.The sofas are ripped and faded, with stained throws covering the damage. The voiles, skirting boards, rugs and fans were dirty, several lights did not work, and the laminate flooring is lifting, with a loose threshold strip creating a trip hazard. The fire pit is overgrown and unusable. The toys advertised are mostly broken, very old, and some are mouldy. The kitchen table remained sticky even after cleaning, one chair was unusable, and the kitchen equipment was inadequate, with only two blunt, mismatched knives in the block. The quilt had numerous stains, including what appeared to be blood, raising concerns about cleanliness. One wardrobe had collapsed and another was propped up on bundles of paper. The pool turned green with algae and was closed on our final day. Finally, the smoke alarm was not fitted to the ceiling. Only the mounting plate remained, while the alarm itself was sitting on top of the fridge-freezer.We left feeling disappointed, and deceived.

Dear Luke, We have 10/10 VRBO reviews on either side of your stay including 5 stars on another well known site. The reason for mentioning this is to put your review. which I disagree with, in perspective. I have been through your list with housekeeping and can confirm toys are not broken, the firepit is very usable and we leave logs and fireligthers to make it easy for you, the kitchen equipment is more than adequate as mentioned in other reviews, the wardrobes are not propped up on paper or collapsed and the kitchen table is not permanently sticky, the list could continue.
I would also like to point out that had these issues existed as described, I would have expected the guests before and after your stay to voice similar concerns and their reviews were posted before yours. The housekeeping team work incredibly hard to ensure our guests have a wonderful stay.
I am really sorry about the pool on your last day, it needed to be shocked due to algae. The reason the smoke alarm is on top of the fridge is because we were advised it was a better location for it rather than the hall. With best wishes and I hope you have a very good rest of 2026, Susie
A lovely home away form home. Our two young boys absolutely loved the table tennis and pool table and especially the beautiful grounds.
The cottage and property is well looked after and Susan was a splendid host.
We will be back!
A fantastic property in great surroundings with exceptionally friendly hosts.
We have just returned from a 4-night stay (as a family of 4) and we were blown away by the warm and friendly welcome from Susie and the whole family. All aspects of this property and the facilities were 'spot on' (exactly as described, if not better than described!) and it is well located with the coast within a short drive, countryside walks right outside the door and some good local pubs.
Tip: follow Susie's tips and you will have an amazing time, she has great local knowledge!
Wonderful stay in fabulous location with lovely host.
We had a lovely family stay in this sweet cottage, on beautiful grounds. We were lucky to have exclusive use of the amazing gardens and pool. The host Susie was wonderful and could not have been more helpful and kind. She stocked the cottage with toys for our kids, and gave us so many helpful tips about places to go. She was such a pleasure to deal with which made our stay even better. Thank you!

Comfortable cottage in lovely setting
The cottage is warm, clean and comfortable and fully lives up to the photographs and description. Earlier positive reviews are well deserved. The owner is charming and personable and made us most welcome. A very pleasant stay was enjoyed and a return visit is tempting.

Lovely property in wonderful setting.
We arrived late but communication was good and we had no problems getting in. The house is in some beautiful grounds near a cricket pitch with access to the downs very close. The house was spotless with lots of extras like pool table tennis and table tennis. So quiet and peaceful - we will be returning!

Bright, airy and spacious
We stayed with a friend for 3 nights. The cottage was lovely with everything we needed. We went during school holidays so couldn't use the swimming pool but there was lots to do locally.
The cottage is situated very near beautiful National Trust walks.
We had a great time and would go back in the future.

Perfect Cottage in the Country
We cannot say enough good things about our stay. The owner Susie was a pleasure to deal with. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. My wife and I stayed at the cottage for five days. The cottage itself is comfortable and charming. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of dishware and new appliances. We enjoyed having wine and cheese on the downstairs patio in the evenings and walking though the South Downs. The shower is brilliant. Everything you might need to buy can be found in Liphook, which is just a few minutes drive away. The A3 is conveniently close. The nearby Rising Sun pub has great food, a good atmosphere and is worth a visit. Our walk to the Deers Hut pub was one of our favorite days, although the paths through parts of the Downs are not very well marked - nothing a gps can't resolve for you. Overall, an outstanding experience.
