Host was flexible on dates which was appreciated - master door fell off frame upon arrival - was addressed and fixed next day - still didn't close all the way... thermostat tricky to figure out and felt like it was blowing cold air no matter what... def SUGGEST putting reflectors on driveway - we arrived at night... very dark and there is a big drop off on the right side of the driveway.

This mountainside home is absolutely beautiful and provides a view of awesome mountains that we will never forget. The home has everything you need plus some, and for a woodworker like myself, it was a joy to soak up the beautiful wood architecture of both the inside and outside. What a peaceful and refreshing place to come back to after an awesome hike! We can’t wait to come back, thank you so much for providing and for sharing such a wonderful home.

Doty’s River Inn was cozy and charming, with breathtaking views of the mountains and Twin Lakes. It was the perfect place for a family gathering, offering many mountain hiking trails and lakes for water activities. The only problem was the mouse infestation — the critters got into our unopened food packages. Management was great about responding to this issue right away !

Hi Pamela,
We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the cozy and charming atmosphere at Doty's River Inn and that the location provided breathtaking mountain views and plenty of outdoor activities. We're sorry to hear about the mouse issue but glad to know that our management responded promptly. The colder weather in the mountains sometimes attract unwelcome visitors. This has also been addressed with the pest control company so we can be ahead of the situation and not disrupt our guests enjoyment of the home in the future. Thank you.
We spent Thanksgiving at Doty’s with my daughter and son-in-law and couldn’t have picked a better location. The area was beautiful, with plenty of hiking close by, and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our TG dinner - probably the best equipped kitchen we’ve had yet in a short-term rental.
Since my daughter and her husband are in the midst of hiking all the 14ers in the state, we’re thinking of coming back this summer to get in those in the area. This will be a perfect basecamp for a week of hiking!

We absolutely loved this cabin! The owner/manager have thought of every need while traveling to make you feel at home and comfortable. The neighbors were so kind as well. The man next door has lived there for 45 yrs and is a wealth of information for finding the best places to fish and even offered his cleaning station!! Another neighbor gave us chipmunk food for the grandkids to feed them everyday we were there. The view is beautiful and so peaceful. Thank you for having us we cannot wait to come back next time.

Twin Lakes was a lovely area. The house had virtually everything we needed and the instructions for everything from the TV to the shower were very clear.
There is an abandoned building on the property, perhaps what the owners lived in while they built the house.
Be aware, there are lots of stairs (you have the code for the garage so you go up one floor to the main living area and another flight to the nicer bedrooms.)
Also be aware that bigger grocery stores are in Buena Vista (City Market) or Leadville (Safeway), both about a half hour drive.

Hi, We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay in the lovely Twin Lakes area and found our instructions helpful. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you for the heads-up about the stairs and the grocery store locations. This information will surely benefit future guests. If you decide to visit again, we'd be thrilled to welcome you back.
The first thing to know about this property is that it is basically located on a junk yard. There are buildings with windows boarded up just a few yards from the cabin, and many piles of junk in the backyard. If you are looking for something romantic or even kid friendly, this place is NOT IT. It was so bad we decided to leave the property even though we drove 600 miles to be here.
Also- the management team from Rocky Mountain Homes is HORRIBLE to work with. We let them know about the junk and how we did not feel comfortable here due to the MISLEADING photos of this property, and two different people (Helen and Mary) sent us addresses to other places we could transfer to (which was nice), but then GHOUSTED us. Literally sent us to other cabins to look at then decided to turn off their phones. It was a crazy experience and led to me spending thousands of dollars to ultimately stay at a hotel in Dillion.
They did all of this knowing we were traveling with an infant.. they even asked if we needed a crib via text, then left us waiting 4 hours before telling us that never mind they won't help us.. these people are cancer..

Hi Otis,
We apologize for the inconvenience during your stay. We offered to transfer you to another property and you declined that offer. This proprety is NOT located in a junk yard, it is actually in a beautiful neighborhood in Twin Lakes. You did not have to stay at the property, if it made you feel uncomfortable. We feel your review is very unfair and inaccurate. We don't appreciate The reviews speak for themselves as this property has always been a favorite amongst our guests.
