The property had everything we needed. The full kitchen was a must for us and they provided everything. The house was so authentic. we enjoyed exploring the Northern part of Kyoto and heading up to the mountain so this was a perfect location for us to explore from. we would definitely come back here to this location again.
In general, the place was fine. It’s a bit far to Gion District and Central Tokyo, but is close to the Golden Temple and Ryoan-ji Temple. Because of the heat and mobility issues, we took cabs everywhere else, cabs are easy to get, and even easier with the GO app. I was not impressed with the cleaning. Everything was superficially clean, but the corners where the floor meets the wall, and behind toilet had dusty and lint. All the cords for lamps and chandeliers were dusty and broken parts of couch were stored under the stairs.

We had a pleasant stay! The property was just as described—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Having a kitchen and refrigerator made it easy to prepare simple meals and store snacks, which was a big plus. The nearby 7-Eleven, just a short walk away, was also very convenient. That said, getting to the property was a bit challenging. From Kyoto Station, we had to take a train, then a city bus, and finally walk about six blocks. The biggest issue was that the city buses had signs prohibiting luggage onboard, which made the trip a bit stressful. For that reason, we’d mainly recommend this place to travelers who aren’t relying on public transportation. The location itself is peaceful and very close to a beautiful temple complex, as well as several great restaurants and coffee shops. The laundry facilities were a nice bonus, though we did find it a bit odd that there was a vending machine in the kitchen for shampoo and conditioner.Overall, a good stay with a few logistical challenges depending on how you're getting there.

Quiet Haven
My husband, 22 year old son and I stayed at this small home in Kyoto. We loved the extra space that we had staying here with a nice sized family room and kitchen. The home was clean, but shortly after entering the house we heard an intermittent beeping coming from the downstairs smoke detector. My husband dismantled it, figuring that it needed some new batteries. Finding none, we left it dismantled and sent the owner a message. The only other problem with the house was that the beds only had one pillow each. There were three of us staying there and so we were one pillow short. The photos online show two pillows per bed and claim that the house sleeps six people. After searching the house we found one very thin and old pillow in a downstairs closet with a futon but no pillowcase to put over it. We tried to reach out to the owner about that as well. We never had any response back from the owner and the phone number that was provided for the property manager did not work. Other than being frustrated at not being able to get any help with our concerns, we enjoyed our time here.
