About this property
Newly Remodeled Charming and Contemporary Home
Eastside Mod is a newly renovated two-bedroom home, plus a guest studio that inspires a sense of whimsy and wanderlust. With a colorful personality, this custom home's purposefully eclectic style blends unique art, textiles, and modern finishes with the playful touch of bohemian chic. Comfort and quality of furnishings are clearly at the forefront.
The living room is anchored by a tangerine sofa, glass screened fireplace, and swivel chairs that create a welcoming conversation area. A built-in day bed tucked into a cozy corner is ideal for lazy afternoons with a great novel, or travelogue plucked from the home's book collection. Newly upholstered apple-green velvet chairs surround a distinctive Burlwood dining table that can seat up to eight guests.
The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes in varying styles to keep meal presentations creative. Ceramic bowls, hand-crafted wooden spoons, colorful napkins, and glassware will create a very pretty table. Culinary conveniences include a hard-working Viking gas range, dishwasher, and plenty of small appliances, including an electric tea kettle and coffee-making options. Mix up a cocktail and enjoy watching over meal preparations at the raised bar that seats three. The laundry room off the kitchen is outfitted well with a front-loading washer and dryer, ironing board, and counter space for folding all those beach towels guests will be using with the beach just down the street!
The primary bedroom suite outfitted with a queen-size bed, seating, and walk-in closet, has a sliding door to a private deck that leads to the backyard. With bright blue custom tile work accented with coral-colored plush towels, the en-suite bathroom is bathed in cheerful hues. A luxurious tile shower and plenty of built-in storage add the final touch of quality and practicality. The second bedroom across the hall has a queen-size bed and front yard views. The contemporary hall bathroom is equally luxurious and well-appointed with a white tile shower-bathtub combination.
The detached studio is tucked away in the corner of the backyard, offering an ideal spot to get some work or studying done. The sleek, hot pink couch is a colorful surprise to a bright and friendly workspace where there is a desk and printer provided. The couch can also fold out into a single bed, ideal for accommodating an extra guest. There is also a powder bath here. Just outside is the added bonus of an outdoor shower.
The fully enclosed backyard is sunny and spacious. The dining table, barbecue, and a couple of canvas butterfly chairs under an umbrella are on the deck. With drought-conscious landscaping it is a sunny space that will make outdoor entertaining a joyous experience. As is typical with many Santa Barbara homes, this property does not have AC. Open windows and the use of fans allow ocean breezes in to keep the house cool during hot summer months.
The location of Eastside Mod is ideal for those wanting to be close to coastal beaches and downtown but in a quiet neighborhood setting. Trader Joe's is just up the block, making grabbing a few items for a beach picnic convenient. East Beach is about four blocks away, with volleyball courts, a kids' playground, and a wide sandy beach for long walks and sun-worshipping. Feeling adventurous? Plenty of E-bikes are parked on local streets, so getting around town is easy and fun! Within walking distance is La Superica (one of Oprah's "favorite things"), an authentic, al fresco Mexican restaurant not to be missed! Don't be surprised by the line here, but it is worth the wait! Drive or bike to nearby Coast Village Road in the heart of the Lower Village of Montecito. There is plenty of upscale dining options, gourmet bakeries, coffee shops, galleries, and world-class shopping waiting to be explored,
Eastside Mod is a colorful, casual, and comfortable place of rest and respite or transforms into an exciting home base for adventure in a world-class coastal town, beloved by all. Have fun!
