Loved our stay! We liked being close to several of the mountains to hike. The house itself was surrounded by trees and the lovely creek in the back was an extra bonus.

Fantastic home, quiet, clean and very welcoming! If you four wheel the driveway is large and easy to pull a trailer in and out of. Love this home and will stay again. The owners left a beautiful welcome basket and were so friendly.

Cal was great to work with during our stay. He communicated with us several times before and during our stay. There was a nice little gift basket that welcomed us. Any problems we had were quickly taken care of. It was a great platto come back to after a day of playing in the mountains!

Spacious, clean cabin at the base of Mt. Princeton, well located, easily accessed, not deep into the woods but far enough to feel away from it all. So much to see and do in the area, and the owners were very kind and helpful. We'll be back.

Jeff- Thank you for the review- glad you’all had a great week!
We hope to see you again next year.
This cozy cabin set in the trees was exactly what you picture a cabin in CO to be. The cabin was clean and well maintained. The owners were absolutely lovely and went above and beyond to make sure your stay was enjoyable. Our son loved it so much he didn’t want to leave. I would highly recommend this property to anyone staying in this area.
My family has stayed in this cabin many times and it never disappoints. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our 3 families to stay. We love the secluded location next to the wonderful creek and beautiful view of Mt. Princeton. Always relaxing to sit on the deck to visit with family or just read, sip coffee and take in all the sights and sounds of nature. Our 4 hosts (the Clark's and the Banning's) are the kindest and most accommodating people. We highly recommend our favorite vacation place.
Although there are several other properties nearby, the cabin is very private and quiet; hiking nearby, stream close to play in or just enjoy. Centrally located, other areas very accessible from this spot. Owners very accessible and easy to talk to. Sleeping areas on 3 levels with 2 1/2 bathrooms.

Thank you- were glad you’all had a good stay- we always love having your family as our guests!!!
Hope you can make it back next year!
Cabin was well furnished. It had all we needed to be comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pans and utensils.
The king bed was very comfortable as was the queen upstairs.
Only downside for us was the spiral staircase. We managed but, it was rather trecherous for us. Nice and clean.

Thank you Don for the review. It sounds like the only issue you had was with the spiral staircase whhich we try to identify In our description especially pertaining to small children
and toddlers. Unfortunately that is a 70’s design issue we can’t change. However we do appreciate the input.
Thank you,
The Clark’s & Banning’s
Very nice cabin, plenty of room for up to 10 people. Owners easy to communicate with. Good location, quiet and close to a nice stream. Lower level has a separate entrance as well. Beds are comfortable.
A negative for some people could be a spiral staircase up to the loft and down to the lower level.

Great Place to stay for the week!!!
Our group had an awesome time staying here. There was plenty of room in the cabin and everything was clean. The house had everything that it said it had on the website. The only thing that you need to watch for is the shower head in the downstairs shower fills with debris from the well pump making it worthless to use. Very small issue compared to everything else the house offers.

Host was very helpful
POSITIVES:> Lovely setting, high up at the end of the dirt road of the neighborhood, with a view of the peak of Mount Princeton. > Easy access to all we wanted to do and see (climbed Mount Yale and Mount Belford, enjoyed Cottonwood Pass, hiked up to Hartenstein Lake one day, and Lost Lake another day, as well as enjoyed meals and shopping in Buena Vista).> Cal did all he could to make sure the appliances that didn't work were fixed and/or replaced (Chris, the handyman, came out at 9:00 PM one night to fix issues). see below.> The nice deck with a stream running by made for a beautiful spot for our meals. > Towels were ultra soft!NEGATIVES:> The refrigerator didn't work, the clothes washer lacked a cold water supply, and the dishwasher initially malfunctioned. Cal and Chris were quick to fix the issues. Chris was able to clean out the cold water supply to the clothes washer, so it started working again. He attempted to fix the fridge, but to no avail. Cal ordered a new fridge, which was delivered and installed in two days! (Cal was very upset that we were inconvenienced). The dishwasher was brand new, and once I looked at it and realized that it had not been "unpacked" correctly (the washer arms were still tied down!), it ran great. So, even though these are listed as "negatives," the owner did great work in resolving the issues.> The cabin is way up on the mountain, so our cell phones barely got reception. The cabin had satellite television (which we barely used), but it would have been greatly appreciated if the cabin had Wi-Fi internet. That would have made our trip planning so much easier, as well as our attempts to keep in contact with friends and family back home. Cal was a gracious host. He was hands-on to deal quickly and decisively to fix the issues with the appliances. He was also helpful in giving advice for things to do in the area. I recommend staying at this cabin!

Mice
When we arrived the house seemed clean but by midweek mouse excrement was showing up: on counters, in bathrooms, and in the kitchen. Two mice were caught in indoor traps and we found two more live mice in a decorative milk can that we had to deal with. They would run across the floor in front of us when we were sitting or lying down. There were mouse droppings on the nightstand close to my head where I slept. We could hear them making noise behind walls. It got progressively worse through the week.
There were numerous traps set inside and out and also ultrasonic mouse repellers plugged into outlets throughout the house. Cal apologized and said they’ve never had a problem with mice and all the traps and repellers were preventative. He came and set out 7 new traps in the house.
We considered leaving early but didn’t want to ruin the vacation for our teens & 20’s kids. On our last afternoon Cal offered a hotel room for that night but by that time most of our party were out hiking and it wasn’t feasible to move.
We’ve rented vacation homes since the 1990’s and this is the first time I’ve given anything less than 5 stars. We prefer remote country settings, even so, I don't remember ever encountering mice. They are unsanitary, carry disease, and it wasn’t just one but there were numerous, possibly many mice. They were extremely unpleasant to deal with and added a great deal of stress to our vacation, therefore I believe this poor review is fair. Had we known ahead of time we would not have rented this property and others may wish to inquire about this situation before they rent.

Jill-
I again want to apologize for the experience you and your family had with mice at our cabin. It is the only time since we have owned this cabin from 2016 that we have had a pest problem. Every previous week for this summer we have had 5 star reviews including the week leading up to your stay.
No one ever mentioned in reviews and numerous phone conversations about their stays, a problem with mice or other pests.
In fairness, I didn’t receive your eMail about the problem until your last full day of your rental on Friday, August 12, even though you had my cell number and we had talked earlier during your stay. At that point, I immediately came to the cabin, set out traps, offered to pay for your last night in a hotel, called and scheduled a professional pest control which at that point on Friday didn’t have availability until Monday.
You didn’t accept my offer to pay for hotel and left as scheduled the next morning.
The next day I had my cleaning staff as usual, do a complete cleaning and sanitization of floors, counters, etc. and made our next guests aware of the situation.
The pest control company came as scheduled on Monday and our current guests haven’t had problems, which I confirmed again today.
Again, I’m sincerely sorry for the problems you experienced but feel we have done everything possible as quickly as possible to correct the situation.
