If you want to get away from it all, this is the place for you. RyePark House is set on 11 acres and has two one-bedroom cottages. It is a pet free, adult-only site

Travel down our long farm drive through farmland to discover this beautiful large, light and spacious one-bedroom barn providing luxury accommodation perfect for those relaxing breaks. The Stables at RyePark House is peaceful and rural yet just a short drive from Barnstaple and the coast.

The location is stunning and unique with the feeling of being away from it all. Surrounded by pasture it overlooks an ancient wooded valley with a babbling river, making it a perfect base both for those wishing to just relax and enjoy the barn, its surroundings and beautiful walks from the doorstep and just a short drive for those wanting to explore everything North Devon has to offer from the wild beauty of Exmoor to the beaches of the ‘golden coast’.

Sitting in 11 acres The Stables at RyePark House is completely self-contained. The Old Stables and our other one-bedroom cottage, the Barn, are both part of the old stone farmyard but do not overlook each other and are completely private. The owner’s farmhouse is situated close by, so you have the reassurance of help should you need anything. Privacy is always guaranteed.

The Stables with its mezzanine bedroom with super king bed, exposed beams, vaulted ceiling and stunning wet room bathroom with separate bath and rainfall shower, combines the timeless beauty of the area with all the essentials of modern living. Boasting a wood burning stove. FREE Wi-Fi both SUPERFAST and unlimited and the luxury of underfloor heating, we aim to make your stay at The Stables as relaxing as possible, everything you need is provided- including, several pantry items , toiletries, all linen (100% Egyptian cotton), soft towels, robes and even slippers.

The large open plan interior includes a fully fitted kitchen with high standard appliances including a dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer, Neff oven and induction hob, separate dining area, with seating for 2, and a cosy lounge area providing a French Connection sofa and chair, large 43" flat screen internet TV with Freeview Play and chromcast and a stunning wood burning stove perfect for those quiet relaxing nights in (board games are even provided!). Off the lounge on the ground floor is the large wet room bathroom with a walk-in power shower with fantastic rain fall head, double ended deep bath with shower attachment, heated towel rail and underfloor heating.

The extremely spacious bedroom on the mezzanine floor and is calm and peaceful with a super-king bed with luxury mattress and plush bedding all 100% Egyptian cotton giving you that peaceful night’s sleep you’ve been looking for. This room also has a 43" flat screen smart TV with Freeview Play.

Outside on the south facing terrace you will find a table and chairs for alfresco dining and more comfortable rattan furniture, with views over the orchard and woodland a private and relaxing space with a BBQ.

Stay in and just relax in the calm atmosphere and reconnect with nature or take a stroll through our nature reserve or along the riverbank, up into the wood or stop at one of our picnic areas. On your way pause and watch the chickens or have a cuddle with our hand raised, tame sheep! And in the evening curl up on the comfy sofa with a good book or watch a film, followed by a peaceful soak in the bath. Or sit on the terrace and as Exmoor National Park is an International Dark Sky Reserve and home to some of the darkest skies in the country wrap yourself up in a blanket and gaze up at the stars, really special and quite spectacular.

Super accommodation in lovely location

We had a great stay here. The accommodation was very well-equipped and luxurious, with a huge bed, wet room with bath and excellent shower, kitchen with everything that was required, and well-lit comfortable sitting area with TV, games etc. Maria was extremely helpful and we couldn't have asked for more. We would certainly be happy to stay here again.

Stayed here with my partner for our first getaway together and it truly was the best decision!The location is stunning, they have such a beautiful property set away from hustle and bustle where you can truly unwind. It's also close enough to any major locations in north Devon which again is another selling point.The property itself is well fitted, the bathroom in particular is incredible. That in combination with the effort Maria and Steve go to is what makes this place second to non! From the in depth welcome documentation with anything you could ever need to know, to the hamper on arrival, it's truly special.Overall, I'd recommend this stay to anyone looking to get away for a long weekend, or even longer. We did 4 days. It was enough to see all of the surrounding areas while still having some time to relax.

The stables has provided us with exactly what we were looking for great accommodation and tranquil surroundings. Maria and Steve have put so much thought into the finish within the Stables, it’s amazing. Everything is completed to the highest standard. We have stayed at a number of cottages over the past decade and in our opinion the Stable is the best accommodation that we have stayed in . This was our first time in North Devon and even though the weather was not the best this did not detract from our experience, with there being plenty to do within a short drive

The perfect honeymoon

We were lucky enough to stay in the stables for a week after our original honeymoon to New York was cancelled. It is a really beautiful property, converted to a very high standard with everything you could need for a comfortable stay and lots of personal touches to make it feel very special. The surrounding woodland is just magical to explore and the property is tucked away and so peaceful yet easily accessible and near to the stunning North Devon coast - the perfect location. We even got one clear night and could star gaze on the patio! Maria was so welcoming and friendly, we felt instantly at home. Thank you so much for helping making our honeymoon so special and memorable, we will definitely be back!

We adored it! The Stables was so comfortable, absolutely, spotlessly clean and very stylish. Everything you could possibly need had been provided by Maria and Steve and the welcome hamper and flowers were so thoughtful. We loved the walk down the the river even though we didn't make it over to the other side. It was just so peaceful there. The private outside area was also comfortable and peaceful. The location is just right, close to beautiful Exmoor and the very interesting coast. Barnstaple for supermarket shopping wasn't too far way. Maria and Steve were perfect hosts, friendly and discreet but always there if you needed them.

Schon bei der Vorbereitung des Urlaubes wie auch beim Aufenthalt in Rye Park wurden wir sehr professionell und herzlich begleitet. Die Erwartungen wurden übertroffen. Wir haben uns sehr "willkommen" und wohl gefühlt. Wir konnten entspannen und unseren Urlaub genießen. Dazu beigetragen haben die sehr netten Vermieter, die z.B. gute Tipps vermittelt haben, aber auch die sehr hochwertige luxuriöse Wohnung, die mit vielen liebevollen Details ausgestattet wurde (z.B. frisch gepflückter Blumenstrauß,Willkommenskorb mit Leckereien,tolle Badewanne,bequemes riesiges Bett) und die atemberaubende Natur (Ruhe,Vogelgezwitscher). Wir würden diese Wohnung auf jedem Fall weiterempfehlen.

Not only is this property beautifully furnished to a very high standard but Maria & Steve provided a very warm & friendly welcome aswell as providing some very informative tips and information to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The Stables is located in a woodland/farmland area but is only approx 20mins from the nearby town and coastline with a variety of activities/ places to visit. OUTSTANDING

The Stables is by far the best rental accommodation we have stayed in. The directions provided were clear and accurate, and the Guest Guide file was comprehensive & complete. We were greeted by the very friendly host with various welcoming items too long to list (examples include Prosecco, a bunch of beautiful wild flowers, scones with strawberry jam & clotted cream - to name a few). The furnishings, appliances and utensils are all impeccable and there are special thoughtful touches everywhere to make you feel welcome and at home. The bed is big and comfortable and there are more than enough towels including bath sheets which were very welcome after relaxing in the beautiful big bath. We enjoyed a wonderful week and will certainly be back in the near future.

Fantastic escape from everything

My wife and I wanted a short break to get away from the hustle and bustle of work and everything going on in the world and Maria and her property were just what we needed, we are even looking at booking again and taking my wife’s grandparents. The stables cottage was fab it had everything , Maria took us out to meet and feed the sheep and gave us a background of the property, recommended places to eat and see , we walked through the woods on the day we left and I was provided with some boots again by Maria as I didn’t have any!! She was a fantastic host and we were made to feel very welcome highly recommend

Simply the best.

We just had a week at the Stables what can I say. Location fabulous,barn fabulous,hosts fabulous. If you need a week away in comfort this is the place,cosy downstairs,great kitchen super lounge. The massive bath is just what you need after exploring the Devon countryside. Upstairs the king size bed is so comfortable you don't want to wake up. Thank you Maria for such a wonderful week away,we will be back!!

Honeymoon getaway

This property was perfect for our honeymoon. We were greeted by Maria and her husband who were very welcoming and friendly, we felt if we needed anything they would be more than happy to help. The area had a lovely area to walk and explore and then not far away are the beaches. We also visited Exmoor Zoo nearby which was lovely. The property itself was stunning and we didn't really want to leave, the beams were amazing and the bathroom was a favourite! We had food one evening in a local pub - the black venus inn - stunning! However the last 2 nights we stayed in as we loved the property so much! We look forward to hopefully visiting again in the future.

We moved here in 2015 from Kent with our teenage kids - to get away from it all! We believe we have found a little piece of paradise and would love you to share it with us. The moment we drove down the drive, we were sold. You will know what we mean when you see it for yourselves; it's unique. We have chickens, sheep, 2 cats and 2 dogs.

Why they chose this property

They say location, location, location - and that is what you have here. A beautiful setting, rural but not remote and only a short drive from all the sites, beaches, coast line, Exmoor, the towns etc. We are as they say right in the middle of everything. In addition to that the setting is beautiful, The Stables forms part of the old farmyard with the farmhouse situated behind our other one bedroom holiday let The Barn, so staying in is just as great as going out.

What makes this property unique

Not only is the location fantastic and the views stunning, but North Devon has everything: large, sandy beaches, woodland, rivers, wild ponies and goats, views to die for, and, of course, Exmoor National Park. The area is home to some of the darkest skies in the country and is designated as an international Dark Sky reserve, the first in Europe, making this a great place to gaze at the stars, special, romantic and quite spectacular.
