Adequate
The cabin was mostly clean, anything up high (top of fridge, mantle, windows) we pretty dirty- lots of dirt/dust/ dead bugs, etc. There were also dead bugs under the recliner when we scooted it aside. Like many of the reviews stated, the beds were beyond horrible, more along the lines of painful. The setting was beautiful, we saw a family of bears pass by one evening, lots of birds and squirrels to watch! The hot tub was very small, but seemed clean. The instructions posted nearby seem to contradict themselves, however. The first line states the tub has been "drained, cleaned and refilled prior to your stay", then later states if the tub "requires emptying and cleaning, there will be a charge after your stay". The proximity to Gatlinburg is great! The winding road to the top of the mountain is beautiful as well. This cabin as a "home base" is fine. But not somewhere you'd spend leisure time. We left a night early per a unanimous family vote. I feel like a bit of updating and a thorough DEEP cleaning, and maybe a good outdoor power washing could bring up the rating. I understand bears will spread unsecured trash, but there was also a lot of it outside, that looks to have been there a while. My daughter's and i walked around behind the cabin and picked up a much as we could.

Nice home near Gatlinburg
Our family had a nice 3-day stay at the property. This is very easy access from the Gatlinburg town. Quite private, with two sides facing the woods. The home had a good rustic feel to it. There was fuzzball and mini pool table to keep my boys busy while we were at the house. The internet was fast. The owner was proactive with communication, and got back to me quickly when I sent a message. As for things we didn't quite like, there were no toiletries and no washer detergent. That was a surprise for a house in this price range. There were 3 detergent pods for the dishwasher, which I assume was allocated one per day of the rental (maybe dishwasher detergent theft is a thing?). Also while other nearby houses on the street has view of the mountains, this house doesnt. One aspect that we should have realized but didn't was the location, while easily accessible from the town, also made it such that we need to cross town for most main hikes/activities in the area (except for river rafting). The town is very small, but it was crowded when we visited late March, and it added an easy 30 minutes to every hike/trailhead.

Wonderful Anniversary Trip!!
Clean, nice, cozy. Literally the only reason i deducted a star is the bed. It is horribly uncomfortable!! Hubby didn't make it a full night during our 4 night trip. He ended up on the sofa each night. Owner was always prompt with any questions we had. Cabin was clean and both hot tub and jacuzzi tub were very nice. We would definitely stay here again after confirming an update for the master bed mattress.

Top of the Mountain
This was our first trip to this area , absolutely Beautiful ! Cabin was nice , has everything you need for making meals. Location was perfect for all the activities we had planned. I had looked at previous comments , So I packed a few hangars ( left a few for future guests ) & extra large black garbage bags & painters tape for windows. I loved the place during the day, but at night I had to tape garbage bags over windows felt like something or someone was watching.lol We would definitely rent again!
