The house is very spacious over four floors. It was newly renovated in 2015 so everything is modern and clean. The original building was built in 1883 and is very substantial. The location is excellent. It is on the edge of the town center minutes walk from shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. We have many independent shops, an outdoor and indoor market and a few big names such as Tesco, coop and costa coffee.

We stayed in Ulverston over bank holiday weekend and had a truely fab time. The town house was perfect for our stay so we were able to spread out over the four floors available. The views from the top floor were just amazing. We had all the facilities you could hope for, with a great host & everything you could possibly need on your doorstep.
The location is perfect for exploring the lakes only 15 minutes from Lake Windermere and plenty of walks in and around the surrounding area.
I can't recommend this listing enough.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, glad you had a great time and you are welcome here anytime.
The property was well located, and a short walk from the town centre. We ended up staying here due to a cancellation on another property we had in Windermere, and i am so glad this happened. Finding Ulvestone was like finding a gem. It was just out of the Hussle and bustle of the main tourist attraction and it gave us the opportunity to explore more of the area further a field, Coniston Water/ Lake near by is a must if your near here and so many lovely walks near by to. We had a great trip and would deffo be back again.
The house was great I felt like the pictures don't do it justice so much nicer than the pictures make out. The house is big and spacious. The rooms are comfy and good sized. The only gripe is all the stairs lol but gets yours steps up. The kitchen was super equipped with literally everything you can think of , it even had a China Tea Set. I would absolutely recommend this house for a stay.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review Lorna. Your comments are so detailed and really appreciated. I’m so happy you loved my home town of Ulverston and would be so happy to welcome you back anytime.
This was a last minute booking due to covid restrictions changing the day before we we’re to go away, booked and sorted within 20 mins of starting the booking, Karen was very good at sorting it all with us
Lovely penthouse, had everything you needed for a break away and was spotlessly clean
Open plan upstairs a little bit more open plan than we expected with master bedroom and en suite next to lounge area, But we managed ok
Limited on street parking outside but extra parking just over the main road so only 5 mins walk away,
Close to town, so all within walking distance if you want to eat out or go for a drink. 3 or 4 restaurants on same road as penthouse
Close enough drive to the lakes, so plenty to do all round the area
Would def recommend if you want somewhere with plenty space to relax in

Thank you Trudy, we hope to see you back here one day
7 of us stayed here for a week in August very comfortably. Comfy beds, spacious rooms, cosy sitting room.... Plenty of storage, also in the kitchen, and good drying racks for clothes - Useful in the Lakes! We really enjoyed Ulverston - would have enjoyed it more pre-Covid -
as there are lots of pubs and eateries which we would normally have tried out. In any case we went to a couple
of pub gardens and had great takeaway fish and chips and marvellous takeaway pizza from Cafe Bici. About a 20-minute drive up to Coniston (we did several walks in that area) and a little longer up to Ambleside, but all very accessible. Great stay!
This property is in an excellent location near to pubs restaurants and shops. It was very clean modern very well equipped and felt like home from home. Would highly recommend this property for a great get away in the lakes

Thank you for your great review and kind words. A big thanks to you for leaving my place so clean and tidy, it’s much appreciated.
Property is sparkling clean with everything you need for a week away with a well equipped kitchen. In the centre of Ulverston with easy access to shops and restaurants. It’s a 30 min drive to Windermere. Spent a lovely day in Ulverston itself walking the canal path and up the Hoad. We ate at La Churrasco’s and the Old Farmhouse and would recommend both. A new M and S food outlet had just opened within a 5 minutes drive. The property’s kitchen/diner is on the ground floor and the living room is on the first floor. A fab week in comfy accommodation with beautiful walks around the lakes. Many thanks.

Absolutely stunning - perfect place to stay
We stayed a couple of weeks in this spaceous, modern, immaculate and well-loved and maintained property, my wife and I mmediately fell in love with it, it was absolutely gorgeous, it did more than only tick all our boxes. We enjoyed every single day here in Ulverston, location-wise it is also perfect, only a couple of hundred metres if at all and you are in the heart of Ulverston, e.g. 2 minutes to meet good ol' Stan and Ollie:-) .
It was also an absolute pleasure to meet the owner, Ms. Blackledge, she was a great help in getting around here and learning to love Ulverston, in case of need she was always there to lend a helping hand. If we could give a bonus star, it would be well-deserved.
What else can be said? Well, we hope we will be able to come back to Ulverston this year- and to stay.

Great location, modern decor and spacious.
Great place to stay, everything you need. Décor very modern but comfortable and spacious. Location is central for getting around and also plenty of walks which can be done locally. Near to town centre so nowhere is that far for shopping and good choice of restaurants to choose from. Highly recommend.

Perfect Christmas
Superb communication with the owner, total bespoke service not afforded with bigger companies.
We were met by the owner on arrival and shown around the extensive accommodation suiting our party of 7 perfectly.
Everything was spotlessly clean, neat and tidy and all our needs for a Christmas away from home fully catered for. Some tasteful and discrete Christmas decorations as well as a card and bottle of bubbly were the personal icing on the cake to ensure we enjoyed our stay to the full.
Wifi access kept the children happy and the large kitchen allowed us all to share food prep and tidy up.
Wonderfully warm house and despite being on the Ulverston through-road the traffic noise barely filtered though the thick walls ensuring comfortable tranquility from the outside world.
Ulverston has a huge cornucopia of independent shops and having Booths supermarket a short walk away too the town fulfils all your needs. A pre booked date at the Mason's Arms at Strawberry Bank was a big hit for dinner, amazing views albeit a bit more hairy ride in the dark coming home!
Would highly recommend this property and location.

Lovely spacious house in central Ulverston
The property is prestine, spacious, comfortable and has all the home comforts you can wish for. It's over four floors so the bedrooms are very quiet despite been in the center of town. It's easy to park on the road or two minutes walk behind the church. The house is newly developed but has some original features. It has underfloor heating in the kitchen and GCH everywhere else. Despite being a large property it's also very cozy and warm.

Wow love this place.
We have stayed here a few times now and we can rate it highly enough.
Property is finished to a very high standard with all the things you could need from a fully kitted out kitchen to WIFI and free sat tv.
We have stayed here with friends and also as a family and there is so much space.
As for the location, perfect for trips out to Windermere and coniston and local walks just to mention a couple and ideal for decent pubs and restaurants in the evening or a perfect place to relax in after a hard days walking.
Karen is so lovely and makes you feel at home, we just can't stop coming back to stay with her.

Home from home in the lakes
Stayed here a few times and just keep going back! It's the perfect base to get out and explore the lakes and located in the lovely town of Ulverston, a minutes walk from the town centre.
The property itself is large and can accommodate a group of friends or a family (we were a family and still lots of space for us to not be under each other's feet)
The property is finished to a high spec and kitchen was fully kitted out with all we needed for our stay.
The property has WiFi and a washing machine, much needed for a family trip
No parking at property as with anywhere with the town centre houses it seemed but various options to park (free of charge) just minutes away. Train station is also only a 5 minute walk away
Can't wait to go back later this year
