A beautiful property in an idealic village. All the essential appliances, good quality furniture and very well maintained. The Bell public house offers good food and a great atmosphere and only a short walk across the square. We would highly recommend a stay.
Well appointed property in a lovely village setting. Quiet and very comfortable. Great welcoming pub across the square. Village also has a well stocked village shop that doubles as a post office and cafe. They kindly offered to keep a copy of our newspaper on the side for us each day, and can definitely recommend their bacon baps, coffee and cake!
A clean well equipped cottage in an awesome spot with so much history and great walking around the area and to top it off a very welcoming inn, will recommend to friends and family.

A lovely cottage in a beautiful and peaceful village. A pub, a shop, a church and beautiful scenery and places to visit. Our stay was a real tonic and I hope we’ll be back
Well appointed cottage, very clean and in a great location.
The property is in a nice location to the local pub, serving good food and drinks. The property has everything you require and we'll thought out. We really enjoyed our stay.
A lovely place to stay in a quaint rural village. We really enjoyed the property and being on the town square with a really fabulously run and family owned pub across the square.
The place was clean, good size rooms and all that you needed. Id definitely book again
Very nice little cottage in the heart of the lovely village of Chittlehampton. Close to the local Pub and shop makes this cottage a great place to stay. Good communication from the owner, with effortless check in process. Highly recommended.
Great little cottage - we loved our stay! Very clean throughout and has everything you could possibly need. Location is good and only a short drive away from Barnstaple and the beaches. We'll definitely be returning.
We had a lovely stay despite the weather. The cottage had everything we needed.
We enjoyed visits to woolacombe and croyde and loved The Bell for food and games of pool in the eve.
Perfect, peaceful, home from home. Everything we needed for a relaxing weekend.
Location was great to get to all the places on our list to visit.
The host was communicative and gave great info for local places to go as well as maps etc provided in the cottage.
This was a very well appointed, cosy and comfortable, and Chittlehampton is a delightful place to base oneself for Exmoor and the north coast. Thank you, too, to Miguel for his excellent communication, efficiency and friendliness. Highly recommended.
Lovely, well presented little cottage with all essential things you need to make your stay as easy and comfortable as possible. A home from home and Chittlehampton is a lovely area and the people are too. Not too far a drive to barnstaple or to most of the beaches so is a good location. Would definitely recommend and would definitely consider returning in the future!!

About the host
Hosted by Miguel Ogilvie
We first came to Chittlehampton with our children in 2008, and unusually for us returned in 2009. Drawn to the village by it's peacefulness, friendliness and general charm, the decision to return was not a difficult one. The award winning local pub was an added bonus, offering great value pub food and an excellent choice of beers and ciders.
When the opportunity came to buy the cottage in 2014, we leapt at the chance and haven't look back since. We spend as much time as we can in the cottage whilst letting it for approximately 28 weeks a year. It really is a great place for a week or just a long weekend.
Why they chose this property
The property had just what we were looking for. It is well appointed, in a Conservation area, just across from the pub and in the shadow of the imposing St Hiertha's church.
We came to view the cottage on a cold wet February day and to say it wasn't at it's best is an understatement. However, some much needed redecoration to the exterior of the property and fitting out with new furniture made all the difference and now it really is a home from home!
