Our family (with three teenagers and a dog) stayed here for a few days in the October holidays. The house was very clean and well equipped and really comfortable. We loved the easy walking options from beautiful St Abbs, on the Berwickshire coastal paths and we satisfied everyone’s requirements inc gym junkie (Eyemouth leisure centre) to Harry Styles video recreation (St Abbs) to board games and pumpkin patch foraging and ball throwing on the beach for our furry family member. Thank you, we hope to be back again.

We had a wonderful time - Cottage is perfectly placed - 50 yds from a choice of wonderful walks left to the Harbour & on to St Abbs Head, or turn right to Coldingham and beyond. Very impressed with the accommodation - cosy and comfortable. Could not have asked for a better place to stay, and the Tunnocks wafers were a very nice extra - thank you!

This is an absolutely lovely fisherman’s cottage and is exceptionally well appointed and well equipped to a high standard. Downstairs bedroom for anyone who can’t do steep stairs, accessible easy parking. Minutes walk to the harbour and plenty of walks straight from the door. Owners were helpful and easy to communicate with and there are friendly neighbours. Would highly recommend.

The cottage is older style but lovely and modern inside. It has all the conveniences ypu could want. Brilliant location and the garden was an excellent extra. The stairs to the upstairs bedrooms are steep. Fine for us but you wouldn't manage if you had mobility issues (there is a big downstairs bedroom, thought ). Easy parking right outside the front door. Would definitely stay here again.

Thanks Claire, hope you’ll be able to visit again one day.
Lovely 3 bedroomed cottage, clean & comfortable, it had everything you would need and more for enjoying your stay. It has a sizable back garden with BQ, table & chairs.
Hosts were lovely and nothing is too much trouble, Audrey & Simon are always available if needed. The area has views to die for which is exactly why we chose this area. It has cafes at harbour, Old school and beach which are just a short walk away. There is no shops, Pub/ Restraunt (nearest is Coldingham) except small post office so you would need transport if going for provisions.
Coldingham Beach is lovely, shallow, great for water sports & clean too, it can bee seen & walked to from short cliff walk from cottage which is great. Overall it was a chilled laid back break for us with tours to Berwick, Eyemouth, Seahouses and Eyemouth.

Beautiful, well equipped cottage - garden over a road
It should state garden is across a road at the back - so I could not just leave the door open to let the dog out. Also, I was unlucky in that the cottage next door was being re-roofed and a new chimney built all weekend. Noise and hammering from 8.15am until after 5pm -had the owner have informed me of this, I would have cancelled.

Hi Susan
Thank you for your review.
We take on board your comment about the garden and will make it clearer on the listing page.
We are obviously hugely disappointed that you weren't able to enjoy your stay at No.8 due to the unforeseen building works from the neighbouring property.
We were expecting the chimney to need simple re plastering but when the builder removed the existing he found that the bricks were cracked too and deemed it structurally unsafe and removed it immediately. Unfortunately this all happened just a couple of hours before your arrival and there wasn't time to advise you and we didn't feel that the rebuild would really disturb you. With regard to the neighbours replacing the front section of their roof, we didn't expect the work to commence until the day of your departure, for this we can only apologise, we wish you could have contacted us during your stay so we could have asked them to suspend the work.

The cottage exceeded our expectations in all aspects. It had every facility we could possibly want, everything was high quality, guaranteeing absolute comfort for the five adults in our group.
Simon and Audrey were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful.
The location was perfect for us, close to wonderful coastal and rural walking paths; the harbour, the amazing rib boat ride and a great little cafe. The general store, four or five doors away was very handy and the friendly proprietors couldn't do enough to help us.
As we didnt have a car, we relied on Graham at Premier taxis (01890 781 230) for connecting to nearby villages and Reston Station. Graham was reliable, friendly and helpful.
Thank you so much Simon and Audrey, from Joan (Jo), Dan, Maggie, Des and Lorraine.
