Although the shepherds hut is tiny with no sink or fridge and just a small gas hob, the location is stunning and the natural pool is amazing. Such a peaceful and relaxing place. Just bear in mind, the hut itself isn't really for those who rely on home comforts as you have to fetch water in a bottle from an outside tap, there is no room to put any clothes or belongings, the shower is in an open shed next to the pool with just a shower curtain and no door to lock and it's a shared toilet within the farmhouse itself. But if you are ok with going back to absolute basics, it's well worth all that just for the pool and surroundings alone. It's not suitable for a 30 degree heatwaves because it's made of metal and it cooks you like an oven. Luckily we brought a very powerful fan but even then it was almost unbearable. Still absolutely loved the stay though. Ruth who owns the farm was lovely :-)

About the host
Hosted by Peter Lawrence
I've been invited to keep my newly acquired hut at the farm. I've been working in music and events for the last few decades and am now building a social network as I love sharing passions and bringing people together to find common purpose. This move to Wales has been a great opportunity for me, when I'm in the UK, to exist in a back-to-basics lifestyle on the land with just a small case, a laptop full of ideas, images, tunes and connections.
Why they chose this property
I love the simplicity of shepherds hut living. Leave complexities behind or in the city and de-stress and rejuvenate with a long weekend or a week in glorious countryside, on a farm overlooking the Beacons and Black Mountains. I love the quiet, the fresh air, the trees and nature all around and the clear night skies.
What makes this property unique
