About this property
The Haven - A Private Jenner Retreat - Hot Tub, Fireplace & Dog Friendly
Escape to the Sonoma Coast where the Russian River meets the Pacific Ocean. Tucked away on a private half-acre in the coastal town of Jenner, The Haven is a cozy one-bedroom retreat designed for quiet mornings, starry nights, and unforgettable adventures.
Spend your days kayaking the river mouth, hiking the Jenner Headlands, exploring coastal redwoods, or watching the sunset at nearby beaches. Then come home to soak in the private hot tub, relax by the wood-burning fireplace, or stargaze from bed beneath the skylight overhead.
Peaceful, private, and surrounded by nature, The Haven is the perfect basecamp for a romantic getaway, solo retreat, or coastal adventure with your pup.
The Space The open floor plan is filled with natural light, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout the day. At night, the skylight above the queen bed offers a view of the stars as you drift off to sleep.
A cozy loft space adds a treehouse-like hideaway for an older child or adventurous adult. Please note that the loft is accessed by a narrow vertical ladder and may not be suitable for all guests.
The kitchen includes everything needed for a comfortable stay: Stove & oven Microwave Fridge/freezer Dishwasher Drip coffee maker & K-cup machine Cookware, utensils, towels & cleaning supplies
Enjoy meals indoors or outside on the wraparound deck surrounded by trees and fresh coastal air.
The bathroom is compact but functional, with shampoo and soap provided.
Outdoor Living The expansive outdoor space is one of The Haven’s best features. Upstairs, the wraparound deck includes Adirondack chairs and a propane grill — perfect for morning coffee or evening wine under the stars.
Downstairs, you’ll find a private hot tub and large fenced backyard where your dog can stretch out after a day of exploring the coast.
Good to Know While guests of all ages are welcome, the property was designed with adults in mind and may not be ideal for very young children due to features such as: Elevated decks Hot tub Wood-burning fireplace Sunken bathtub Loft ladder
The main living area is on one level, though there are stairs to enter the home, and access to the hot tub requires navigating uneven outdoor terrain.
Pets One well-behaved dog is welcome with no pet fee or size restriction. Please include your pet when booking.
The fenced yard is large but not escape-proof, so pets cannot be left unattended outside and must be crated if left alone in the house.
Getting Here Jenner feels wonderfully remote while still being accessible: ~1 hour to Santa Rosa Airport (STS) ~2 hours to Oakland (OAK) ~2.5 hours to San Francisco (SFO) A car is strongly recommended, as rideshare and public transportation options are limited along the Sonoma Coast.
With nearby access to the Jenner Headlands trails and river access for kayaking across the river mouth to Goat Rock Beach during calmer conditions, The Haven is perfectly situated for Sonoma Coast adventures.

Astoundingly great place. I'd say more, but you'd be in it all the time. Seriously, the owner takes great pride in the location, and the garden is amazing. I'd love to come back in the off season when the weather is bad, just to stay and do nothing in such a lovely place.
Nice clean home well appointed with everything you need. Small bathroom, nice kitchen, main room had it all….loved the yoga mat ! Nice exterior deck with comfortable chairs, nice yard jacuzzi. Host is great and very informative.
The home and the setting left me with a sense of being in nature … and left me with the calm and refreshed feeling I was seeking. For me, it left me with a chance to “re-boot” and step away from the chaos of current times.
This place was so much more than advertised! A truly gorgeous garden, sweet Sea-Ranch adjacent architecture, gracious porch, sounds of rushing water, plenty of nearby wildlife, water views through the trees, a short walk down the hill to the river (and cafe and kayak rentals) and well-placed for half-day trips to the Armstrong Redwoods and Sebastopol. The house is super thoughtfully appointed for guests, and the hot tub was sited well, comfortable, and super clean. Just a lovely and peaceful time all around.
Everything was really heavenly here. The place is cozy, secluded and quiet with natural beauty out every window. The home is well-stocked and very clean with lots of thoughtful touches with the clear intention that they want their guests to enjoy their stay and have everything they need. Carrie was very responsive and could not have been a more gracious host. Can't wait to go back!
The home is in great condition, very comfortable in and out. It was perfect weather to have a fire and enjoy the sunshine on the deck and hot tub outside. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We hope to be back next year.
Great space, great location! We wanted a casual few days away near the beach and this more than fit the bill. Clean, well appointed and close to amazing beaches. We had great meals and shopped in some unique gift shops…couldn’t ask for more…perfect little get away!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay (second time here for us!) well appointed, quiet, and great location for accessing Jenner Headlands and the local beaches. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
Kitchen was well equipped and very clean. The dish design was thought fully chosen, and there were plenty of mugs, bowls and nice glassware. Condiments were available and coffee. Brita filter for water. Loved the whole entire cabin decor.. cozy and comfortable. Plenty of wood for the fireplace, too. Hot tub was super clean and restful. I loved the fluffy towels and robes. The hosts are very good at making you feel pampered. And the garden was beautiful… coastal succulents, and yard was fenced… nice for our dog. We came away very rested, and will be back at some point!
We enjoyed every aspect of our stay! We loved the cozy cabin vibe, nice kitchen for cooking, hot tub, and comfortable furniture! We also liked the fact that we could access hiking locally and that we could bring our well-behaved standard farm poodle with us. We’d book again in a heartbeat!
We will definitely stay here again. Very private and lovely walks from the cabin. The views were amazing and my dog loved the wild yard.
Very special place!
The Haven is the perfect couple's retreat. It was extremely clean, quiet, and comfortable, especially the bed. We had a very relaxing time, enjoyed the well-kept hot tub, and will definitely be back!
A much needed (and overdue!) getaway in Jenner. Thank you for the perfect cabin! Gorgeous view of the sea in a bucolic and serene hillside. Forgot how much peace Jenner and Bodega Bay gives me. The hot tub was a quencher. Definitely coming back for a visit soon with our sweet girl, Ginger.
Love the Haven! Fantastic time in Jenner with the peaceful nature, great hot tub and very relaxing atmosphere. Can’t wait to return!

About the host
Hosted by Carrie Kozubal
We are Sonoma County locals who love to celebrate living in one of the most spectacular places on the planet. Though we are not able to spend nearly as much time at the coast as we would like to, we are happy to share this little piece of paradise with our guests.
Why they chose this property
The open space surrounding the house and it's close proximity to the village makes it a very special place to visit--private and convenient.
What makes this property unique
The most special part of The Haven to us is the spirit/mojo/vibe of the place. The home was designed and built by an architect who had owned this land for many years before building the house as his own retreat, so it was built with an incredible awareness of/sensitivity to the surroundings. It is private, intimate, relaxing, and invigorating.
We love sitting in the hot-tub at night (especially in the rain), and listening to the waves crashing and the stream rushing by. We love having breakfast in the morning and wine and cheese in the afternoon with the hummingbirds.
We love that this is a place that our dog and kids enjoy as much as we do!
