Guests tell me the photos don't do the cottage and property justice. Read our reviews. Very private. Clean. Lots of space. Drive down to the beach. The East side of Seneca Lake has lots of sun and beautiful sunsets. 100 foot dock. New windows, doors and mini-split ac/heat. Ten miles from Geneva for shopping, movies, and food. Two Five Star restaurants within 15 miles. Each year we renovate another part of our little cottage and many of our guests and their pets return every year. One bedroom with two double beds and a large living room with one pull out couch can sleep 4. Cottage is 880 square feet so best for 2-4 people. Minimum stay is 3 nights except July and August when we only rent by the week (Saturday 3 pm to Saturday 10 am). Cozy but may be too small for anyone 6 foot 2 or over. New kitchen appliances, cupboards, air conditioning, and microwave. We added a pellet stove for visits in the early spring or late fall for wine tours, an aluminum boat for fishing, a canoe and 2 kayaks for sunsets on the lake. For further information, call or e-mail me. It is a lovely place to relax.
Enjoy the quiet - pets welcome. Guests and their pets return every year. One of the few places with no stairs to the lake. Everyone enjoys swimming in the lake, laying on the dock, visiting the wineries (we have three within 7 miles and a brewery) and local restaurants. Others have ventured to Ithaca, Rochester, and Canandaigua to visit museums, gourmet restaurants, and historic sites. The bedroom is above the lake so when you wake up in the morning, you can see right onto the lake. The kitchen and dining area are on the bottom floor and look right onto the water. There are many places to walk including a two mile hike up to Sampson State Park.
If you need to get away from the stress of your life, this is the place.
Enjoy the Lake: This is NOT for you IF you want a high energy vacation. See the herons land on the dock each evening and the ducklings come by each morning. The waves will rock you to sleep. Swim and kayak during the day. Take out the rowboat to fish. Have beach fires at night and visit our many wonderful wineries, breweries, and restaurants nearby. WIFI but no cable TV (just DVD movies). We suggest you relax and get away. This is truly the country and as our friend Simon says, "They aren't building any more lakes."

Our new favorite place on Seneca Lake. Cindy is a wonderful host that quickly answered all questions prior to arrival, and explained the accommodations and history of the house when we arrived. The property was very clean and well stocked with everything visitors need. We loved the five separate lakeside seating areas so much that we skipped visiting wineries to enjoy this rental. Looking forward to future stays.
This place was amazing. Right on the lake and so peaceful. The house was clean and the owner is very welcoming as well as made sure we had everything we needed. We’d stay here again!
Cindy has the best place, everything you need.Beautiful sunsets, hiking with your dog. Close to good wineries and breweries. Wonderful dock to sit on as well as shaded areas with chairs. Clean. This place is a winner
Perfect cottage for our long weekend. Meets the description and is perfectly clean. Fishing off the dock produced largemouth & smallmouth bass, perch, and bullhead.
Was attending a wedding at a nearby winery and decided to make a week of it by staying at this house on the lake. So glad we did as the weather was unseasonably warm for October. We were able to fully enjoy the outdoor spaces which there are many as well as the kayaks on the water. Great sunset views! The house is comfortable and well appointed with all the kitchen essentials to prepare meals. The living space provides ample seating for entertainment viewing (Roku streaming device included) and there is a table / chairs in that area as well. The location is conveniently located near wineries and several farm markets for supplies. Would stay here again.
We had a wonderful time at the cottage. Weather was absolutely perfect! Loved sitting on the dock just enjoying the view, and the dogs loved it too! My husband took the rowboat out a few times and had fun with that. Would definitely stay here again!

We had an amazing stay at Cindy's property on beautiful Seneca Lake! The online pictures don't do this little treasure justice. We will definitely be back!

It was great having you and your dog, Murphy, at the cottage. Come back anytime.
Spotless inside, delightful outside. You'll need to rent a houseboat to stay closer to the water. Cindy is an ideal host and will help you in any way to need. The cottage is exactly as advertised and our stay could not have been better.
This is our third time staying at Cindy's place. Everything is always clean and comfortable. The proximity to the lake is amazing. With the cooler weather we were able to enjoy the firepit which is steps from the cottage. We love having access to the kayaks and canoe. The dock and lake views are the best!

Thank you for your positive review. It makes us so happy when guests enjoy the lake and the cottage.
We had a wonderful vacation here. It’s a large, quiet beautiful piece property with a very comfortable cottage. No stairs to the cottage and water was an added plus. The amenities were perfect for our stay. Sunsets, beautiful skies, swimming, boating… couldn’t ask for any thing more! Thank you to our wonderful host, Cindy!

Thank you. It was great meeting you and I am glad you enjoyed your stay. The weather was perfect and the cafe (what we call the shaded area on the beach with a table and comfortable chairs) is always a favorite.
Had a wonderful time at Cindy’s cottage. Place was so clean and views from the cottage were amazing. Located close to many wineries and hiking trails. Cindy gave us excellent recommendations and advice on where to go and what to see. Can’t wait to come back and visit Lake Seneca again! 😁

Thank you for the lovely review. It was great meeting you two and your pup, Jersey. What lovely fall weather you had, too. We hope to see you again.
Truly Wonderful host ! Cindy was always available to answer questions and guide us for places to explore.
Her home provided all the comforts needed for our stay. Having the Lake view right outside was wonderful! Our puppy being able to come along was also critically important to us.
Wonderful relaxing stay!
This was our second time here! Everything was perfect, the place really has all you will need and Cindy is very responsive. The location to wineries, Watkins Glenn, and Geneva is great. It is also truly a pet friendly place— our cat loves looking out the windows and watching the water! Can’t wait to return next year!
A couple days at Cindy’s cottage was exactly what we needed. We relaxed on the dock, went out in the kayaks, enjoyed the beautiful sunset, and recharged our batteries. The cottage was pristine and we would love to go back again if possible.

Thanks for the great review. The cottage is private with a great dock and kayaking (even when you pull along a friend in a rubber raft) can be great fun. Hope to see you in the future.
About the host
Hosted by Cindy Lont
My family purchased the property in the 1960s and over the years we added rooms and renovated what was a little boathouse into a full functioning cottage right on the lake. No one is allowed to build this close to the lake anymore but we were grandfathered since the building was here before that ruling. Each year I add something new. In 2015, it was a 100 foot permanent dock, new doors and new windows. In 2018, I added mini-split air conditioning and a bay window in the bedroom. In 2019, we reinforced the beach front and put on a new roof. In 2015, I retired from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia where I had been a professor since 1984. Some people retire to the south. I retired back home to the north. I have two adult children who help me with the cottage. I have been renovating and renting this cottage for 14 years. It has been great meeting nice people (and their pets) and having them return year after year. Each year I make a photo book which highlights the dogs who have stayed that past season.
Why they chose this property
The difference between this cottage and the others on the lake is the location. It is very private with over 250 feet of lake shore just for you. There are no stairs going down to the lake like other cottages. You walk out the door, two steps off the deck and you are 6 feet from the water. You park your car down on the beach. It is private, quiet, and you can relax. No landline phones, no cable. Lots of DVDs, CDs, books, swimming, sun, and boating. Want to leave work behind? This is the place.
What makes this property unique
My parents always had a house on Seneca lake for summers. After 45 years, I finally live on the lake year round. The cottage property is so beautiful. I love the fires at night, the sunsets and swimming off the dock. Every night is a different sunset.
