The house was the perfect size with lots of room for my family of 7 for a mini family reunion. Beautiful view of the bay and a great location to get around the area easily. Nancy was great with communication and a kind host. Will definitely stay here again next time we visit family out here.
Million dollar unobstructed ocean view and a very short, easy walk (even with my bad knees) to a fabulous little town full of great places to eat and drink. Very comfortable place to stay with all the amenities.
Excellent property for a family reunion. Plenty of spaces to sit down & reminisce- upper patio, lower patio, living room and front porch. Magnificent unobstructed view of Dayton Harbor sunsets. Nicely renovated. Would return.
The place as always is awesome. We enjoyed our stay there. The ambience is awesome. Love the small town and the Heritage house. Nancy is a very kindhearted owner. She is doing her best to take care to see that the house is well equipped. I think the cleaners need to do a good job of keeping up this Heritage Home. It is a beautiful property. Enjoy this home guys. We recommend.
This home is precious in all the right ways. It is obviously a home that has been the source of many treasured memories over the years, and our family has stayed her twice and built our own special memories. Plenty of space for everyone, and you feel like you can relax and be yourself. We have stayed in homes that are so over decorated for social media that we are afraid to touch anything. This home is not like that. It is a home. Nancy’s a fantastic host. We ate fresh figs from the tree in the front yard all week—what a treat! The view of the harbor is gorgeous and the sunsets each night can’t be beat. A cute panda welcomes you upon arrival in the side yard. I highly recommend staying here!

This is a really cool house!
This historic home was roomy and had everything we needed. The owners met us to let us in and provide keys & an orientation, and made us feel very welcome. There was even had a real Christmas tree up for the holiday, which was a nice touch. There is a game room and a nice dining room - bedrooms are upstairs. It wasn't spotless, but clean enough, and space heaters are provided for each room so it is easy to keep it warm even though its big. A good Chinese restaurant is a stone's throw away, and the inlet is right across the street. Beautiful view. We enjoyed our Christmas stay.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
The house has a lot of charm and character. Watching the sunset from the porch was great. We were comfortable with the historical vibe of the house. Unfortunately, the house needed a lot of cleaning. The kitchen had food debris in the sink and coffee grounds in the maker when we arrived. The washer had mold in it. The bicycles didn’t work and the kayaks were filthy. Also, the upper deck was unsafe to walk on. For the amount of money we paid, we expected much higher standards. This was the first disappointing booking we’ve had on Vrbo.

Thank you for your suggest and comments. We will try our best to improve.
”For the amount of money we paid, we expected much higher standards. ”Yes, everyone wants to enjoy the highest treatment with the least money, and I also work towards this goal. But according to the market price standard, is it a bit too much for you to enjoy five-star treatment with the price of three-star hotel? Even if it is a five-star hotel, I can still find faults, right?
Historical house with a great view and a cute town
Nancy and her husband were so nice. They gave us a little tour of this historic house when we checked in. The house was clean and it is very spacious! Two families of four had plenty of room to sleep, hang out and play games.
We used the fire pit, ping pong table and borrowed the kayaks (single person) to paddle around the bay, launching from Semiahmoo Resort beach. So, make sure you have a car that can tote them if you plan to use them.
We had some trouble with the BBQ, but Nancy was very responsive and they showed up within 15 minutes to fix it. There is plenty of seating inside and outside for eating or just enjoying the view.
The town is 3 blocks away with a few restaurants and an ice creamery. Our favorite walk was up to Peace Arch Park (~20min), where you can straddle the line between the U.S. and Canada for a bit.
We rented the house for the minimum of three nights and four couples signed up to stay there. On the first night we had a good group and stayed mostly out on the deck because it was a beautiful evening. Lots of room for people to sit and a refrigerator for cold beverages.
The next day we brought tables and chairs and set up down below the deck behind the house. We ate and had a great time from 11a.m. until around 9:00. Another beautiful day with a stunning sunset!
Sunday morning we came in and cleaned up and a few people stayed on to play Mexican Train, a domino game. The house had games as well for those interested. Monday morning was checkout.
The owners were available at all times to answer questions, lovely people.
It’s a very large house with lots of room. The kitchen could use some work, but has everything you need. Fun time!!
Our immediate family came to visit our extended family and enjoy the July 4th holiday. The house and host met all our needs. House location great and within walking distance for the town of Blaine. Our host, Nancy was very attentive and available to meet our needs.
The owner was very friendly in providing information about the rental before I arrived. The only concern I had was she forgot to tell me there was a tenant who rented a space in the basement. He had access to the house via a door that we blocked with a heavy table. This part was a little uncomfortable. The house has antique furniture although very pretty not comfortable and I was afraid to damage. The oven fan made a noise when I used it but it worked well. I also appreciated all the kitchen tools and barbecues that were available for use. The property is great for large family gatherings with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. I would return to this home if the basement did not have main house access. I do have to say the tenant was only seen once during our stay. Overall I had a great stay in this rental.

The house is very large, the main rooms are on the first and second floors, more than 3,000 sq., and the basement is also over1,200sq. It has independent entrances and exits. It is now inhabited by a retired contractor. Their project is 100 miles nearby. The door is locked on both sides. If it is locked, it is impossible to enter the other side, but now we plan to seal this door.
The furniture in this house is decorated to suit the house, only suitable for antique furniture, generally speaking, no more than 250 pounds, or not exercising on the chair should be no problem.

When we arrived, our hosts greeted us with a very warm welcome! They showed us around the house and property with great joy. The house is magnificent peice of Blaine history. There is a view of Drayton Harbor from almost everyroom of the house and the sunsets were beautiful. It is a nice gentle stoll or bike ride to down town Blaine. The bedrooms are of a grand size, leaving us all to wonder how magnificent the house was when built 1890. The kitchen got a work out while we were there and and was adequately stocked with everything to serve many people. The outside deck area was fun to sit and visit on. We enjoyed ourselves and plan on booking again.

We enjoy your visit, and glad to know you have great time here. I am curious about your 8lbs Crab. It is amazing to see that big size. Having any pictures took?
Welcome you back again !
The house was bigger than I expected with all the features I expected and more. The owners were very nice and treated us practically like family, providing food in the refrigerator and helping us with the bikes and kayaks. We loved the location, just a short walk to downtown and restaurants and a great view of the harbor.
Our multi-generational family thoroughly enjoyed staying here during a family wedding. Great spaces to relax and cook, walking distance to downtown restaurants and shops, including Edaleen Dairy for delicious ice cream cones! The sunset over the bay from the deck was stunning! Nancy was a great host and thought of everything, even encouraging us to pick fresh figs from the tree at the front of the house. Highly recommended!

Nancy the owner and her husband Shumin are very hospitable people. We enjoyed our stay
The property is awesome. Safe surroundings. We kind off felt like royalty living in this big home. It was clean and tidy. We had a relaxing time. Waking up to the ocean is a lovely feeling. No one can deny that.
It was very sweet of Nancy to keep milk, egg, bread and juice in the refrigerator for us. We reached late on Friday evening at her place. Was not sure if the stores would be open. She is a considerate person.
Very hospitable and that's what we liked.
We enjoyed the karaoke singing. She has a lot of linen so no need to carry towels and sheets. The bedrooms are very spacious. There is a game room. We did not use it as we were mostly listening to music in the living room. The dining room is big and spacious as well. kitchen is just the right size. It has all the pots and pans and crockery that you can use. We loved the huge windows gives you a different feeling.
The house is very warm and cozy. We would recommend this place to be an awesome place for a getaway. You could relax in this Historic house built in 1890 and feel like Royalty.
Thank you Nancy and Shumin for making our stay wonderful. your hospitality will take you far. We will surely be visiting again. My friends, me and my husband are very happy and grateful for all that you did for us. Thank you once again. Watch out we will come again soon.
