About this property

The holiday home at Casa Nola

The cottage at Casa Nola is an 800 sq ft bohemian cottage recently renovated with modern amenities, yet still keeping its rustic charm. Located 18 minutes from downtown AVL. Ideal for couples, families and smaller groups. We support SOVEREIGNTY of the highest order!
We are pet friendly & offer additional pet sitting services if you will be out exploring. This is the perfect place if you are looking for a place in nature, but want to be close enough to all that the area has to offer!
The space
The entire cottage is about an 80 year old structure that has been recently renovated by us from the ground up. It has been a labor of love, from the live edge pine countertops, reclaimed barn wood, farmhouse sink to custom stenciled floors and refinished rustic furniture! The bathroom was entirely gutted and replaced and new floors are throughout most of the entire place. It is a charming combination of old and new, as we left the old wood stove and continue to make it the best we can in between guests!

Our landscape is organic (read as wild!)- tons of berries, fruit trees, nut trees and grapes during the warmer months, which you are welcome to explore and pick! We hope to have this transformed by next year and are committed to organic permaculture. All the dwellings on our property are filtered, gravity fed spring water and some of the purest to drink and mineralize your body with.

The cottage itself is surrounded by trees, shrubs and ivy and the small deck that faces the driveway has been wrapped in bamboo and lattice for upmost privacy. The cottage is a stones throw from our main house, so if you are looking for complete seclusion, this may not be the best spot for you, as you may occasionally hear one of our four or two legged children :)
The entire property sits on 3 acres and contains a tiny house, art studio, woodshop and is a mere 16 minute drive to downtown Asheville.

You might see us coming or going, as we are a busy family, however we deeply respect your privacy and the fact you may be here to get away and are as unobtrusive as possible! We have done our best to create maximum privacy for all! We are happy to help out with anything you might need, please just let us know, but otherwise we won’t bother you! Occasionally we have an escapee 5lb dog or child, they may both even bark at you, but we assure you they are friendly!

Please read house description and rules in its entirety, so you can decide if it’s a fit, as we want you to be comfortable and happy! We are a family with kids and dogs and live in a country setting, so be sure that is something you are on board with. There are country critters, bugs and wildlife here, so it is not uncommon to see wild turkeys, rabbits an occasional bear and although we deep clean in between guests, sometimes a bug gets in!

There are multiple sleeping options, however, there are not 4 separate beds, and the sitting room with the daybed and trundle has an open space curtained off to the kitchen, so please make sure the layout works for you!

***PETS***
We are pet friendly and would like to remain that way, so we ask if you are bringing a pet, to be a responsible, rule abiding pet owner.
If you would like to bring your pet, please send us a request beforehand with pet breed, size and age along with acknowledgement that you have read pet rules.
We charge a non-refundable $50 pet fee per pet.
Pets CANNOT at any time be left unattended, if you have a crate please let us know. When we are available we offer an additional low-fee pet sitting service, please contact us if you’d like more information as we have a separate site.
We ask that only well behaved, fully house trained, non-aggressive pets stay, so we can remain a pet friendly space for other people. Please do clean up after your pet. We do have our own dogs on the other side of the fence and kids, so please no animals that will be a problem for.
There are some trails in the back of the cottage that can be walked as well as a long dirt road the cottage is on
Please read full pet rules, in rules section.

We are happy to host families, please be mindful of woodstove in winter. We’ve learned ourselves vacation with children can be so much work and somewhat of an oxymoron :) If you are traveling with an infant or toddler, please let us know that specifically as there are some things not safe for climbing etc. as well as houseplants. We are happy to try and accommodate however, we just need to communicate beforehand.

We do our best to keep the cottage stocked with housewares and extra goodies to make your stay more comfortable. If it is there, you are welcome to use it. The appliances are full sized stainless steel. Please note there is not a microwave though. The cottage tends to stay cool and we have both the option of window fans and a stand up AC in summer months.
We do have a septic system and ask that you read about that in house rules! We have provided organic soaps and cleaning items are you to need them.

We hope that you will love the space and the area as much as we do! We recently relocated here and it’s been the best decision ever!
Great weather, food, art, fun and people!

We are proud to be LGBQ friendly and don’t discriminate based on race, gender, religion, medical conditions, or choices- we support SOVEREIGNTY of the highest order!

Please message us if you would like to arrange a Whole Foods delivery stocked in the cottage prior to your arrival, we are happy to do that!
Guest access
There is a full kitchen with new stainless steel appliances and mostly anything you should need to cook! You will also find an electric tea kettle and French press to help you get going in the morning! Please note there is not a microwave, just a toaster. We ask that you leave everything in the condition that you found it.

The living room has a sustainable bamboo floor, custom decor and has a wood stove that can be utilized in colder months. There is a 40 inch TV with guest Netflix, Prime and Hulu accounts (no cable though- sorry!).
There is a slider with a small enclosed deck to enjoy your morning coffee or stargaze at night. There is no light pollution out here and on clear nights it’s a planetarium! The deck does face our main house so we ask that you do acknowledge a respectful noise level past a certain hour.

Off the kitchen is a sitting room that contains a daybed and trundle with two twin mattresses. The mattresses are cushy and all beds are in zippered, dustmite proof, washable covers. As of now there is a plug in electric fire place that gets quite toasty for additional heating needs. Please note that it is an open layout from the kitchen to the sitting room, so please make sure that works for you. There is a sliding barn door that leads to the master bedroom and bathroom, which are fully private.

The master bedroom has a queen organic memory foam and bamboo bed, also encased in an allergy proof, washable cover. There is a full size closet, dresser and a completely new bathroom.
The bathroom has been completely remodeled, but is on the smaller size and does not have a bathtub. Please make sure this is ok with you. We have done our best to utilize the bathroom for space, but if you are looking for a big bathroom for your bathing needs, or are an Amazon, this may not be the space for you!

The cottage is surrounded by trees and ivy and across from our main house, we’ve tried to make it feel as private as possible. We continue to put a lot of love and artistry in it and if you like funky, eclectic cozy and comfy, and don’t mind a mix of old and new, it should be a great fit!

We have tried to be as transparent as possible in our description, as we like happy, well informed guests! Please do not hesitate if you have any questions.

We have been using an Ozone machine to clean in between guests, which works amazingly for disinfecting. We have an integrated health practitioner that lives on the land, so we are all about true integrated health and nutrition!
Other things to note
All pets must be pre-approved.
If you have more than one car, we will need to know in advance.
