Hare Pine Inn is a part of Buffalo Creek Vacations. This charming 2 bedroom home sits on a secluded 6 acre farm with a bubbling brook that runs along the side of the yard. Hare Pin Inn was named for the unique hair pin turn it is on. Such a cute country road that runs right along the Pigeon River.
It's just a quick 2.8 mile drive to the main ranch where you can come visit & see the morning bison feeding, see the bunnies, mini horses, mini donkey, goats, llamas & alpacas!
The main ranch is 65 acres & has hiking trails to the BC Corral Playground. Be sure to stop in at the BC Depot to pick up your cool souvenirs, bison meat, animal feed to feed the goats & much more. There is also a game room that is open during BC Depot Store hours.
Activities that can be done on the ranch:
* Tour Agapeland Station ( Large O scale model train layout) * Ride mini horses (65 lb weight limit) * Hike to playground, tether ball & tire swing areas * Feed the goats
We are pet friendly as well! We just ask that you keep your pets on a leash & clean up after them when on the property.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. The house is very accommodating and has a lot to offer. We visited the animals of Buffalo Creek and it was a good time. We went to Berm Park and Maggie Valley, which are less than a 30-minute drive away.
I have a few minor complaints: the beds are not comfortable in our opinion, there were cobwebs throughout the house, the grass had not been cut, and the backyard could use a routine spraying of insecticide.
I would still highly recommend staying here regardless.
Love this place, fence yard is a plus. But really close to the road, right on curve . It is not important if you do not have kids or dog. Other than that cute, cozy with everything you need
Great place--small changes would be beneficial for overall experience!
Hare Pin Inn is super for those looking to be far away from everything, but close enough to everything, too. We spent time running and kayaking at Lake Junaluska, hiking in Maggie Valley, and shopping/eating in Waynesville. The Pigeon River is close by, and there's a pull off near the cabin where you can splash in the river with your pup. Cheryl was a great communicator and always quick to respond to my questions.
The backyard is a huge plus. We spent a ton of time out there stargazing, fire-pitting, and hot-tubbing. It's a great place to decompress and make wishes on shooting stars (we saw some each night we were there!). Cheryl had a big load of firewood delivered so we could keep the fire going and keep us warm while we watched the skies.
My only complaint is that the kitchen was lacking basics that other VRBOs have (and so I didn't think to bring). Olive oil, tin foil, plastic wrap would be beneficial additions. Also, while there is a washer and dryer, there wasn't any detergent (except for the ONE cup provided so you can wash a load of towels on the way out). Soap for the shower would have been a welcomed item, as well. As an experienced VRBO-er, these are things I've come to expect with my rentals and small changes that could be made with Hare Pin Inn to make the rental experience more positive.
Exactly what we were looking for! It was very clean and after a day of skiing it was so nice to come home and soak in the hot tub! We watched the Bison feed and loved the shop! Great family with wonderful hospitality! Will definitely be back!

About the host
Hosted by Cheryl Hillis
Buffalo Creek Vacations is a family owned & operated buisness. We started this business in 2004 with a dream to welcome guest to the beautiful Smoky Mountains. Our parents started the bison herd on 18 acres & we have just expanded it. God has given our family the gift of hospitality & we love to invite people to explore this beautiful countryside.
Why they chose this property
Hare Pin Inn is a super cute house. Located right off the country road across from the river w/a babbling brook on the property. It's just so quaint we are excited to add it to the rest of our properties.
What makes this property unique
Sitting on the front porch & listening to the brook & watching the milk trucks come back from the cow barn as the sun settles behind the mountains, it's just so peaceful!
