About this property

Creekside Mountain Log Cabin Home

This is a beautiful, Non-Smoking, log cabin home on an acre of land, situated on a rushing creek with several waterfalls right outside the door. The lot is wooded and sits at about 4200 feet elevation. It feels very private, yet is only five minutes from the main road.

There is a large covered porch running the length of the cabin overlooking the creek, with a six-person hot tub on one end. In the yard is a picnic table and steps down to the creek. The furniture is plush and comfortable, and with a woodburning fireplace and satellite television, there isn't a more cozy place.

You'll be only fifteen minutes from the quaint town of Maggie Valley, where there are several wonderful restaurants and lots of craft and gift shops, as well as gorgeous mountain views. Going the opposite direction takes you into Cherokee in about ten minutes, with gambling casinos and tourist attractions, or you can take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. In 20 minutes you can be on Main Street in Waynesville, with restaurants and shopping galore. Asheville is just 45 minutes away, and Gatlinburg, Tennessee only an hour or so.

But if you are like us, you won't want to leave the cabin! Everyone falls in love with the place. There isn't a greater get-away than the Great Smoky Mountains, and this is the perfect spot to enjoy them! (3 night minimum)

4x4 is required during the winter time, if it snows. The cabin is located 4200 feet up the mountain on a hard packed gravel road (always check the weather).

birthday getaway

Totally enjoyed our stay. Four of us and four beds. Enjoyed the porch and hot tub. Loved the drive in and used the creek entrance. The creek bigger in person and just loved it. The only negative was water heater didn’t heat 4 short showers. It wouldn’t deter me from a second stay!

Private & Peaceful!

It was great arriving at the cabin and seeing all the fall decorations! And the gift basket was definitely a plus! The cabin was just the right size and we enjoyed so much sitting on the porch listening to the creek right below us and looking out to see all the beautiful fall colors!

Great cabin

One of the best values and stays ive had using vrbo/others. Very remote and scenic property with a creek running through. Hot tub was great. Cabin was clean and had all we needed. Cleanest fridge ive seen. Would recomend a raised vehicle and coming first in the daytime, the road/drive is gravel are pretty hairy in spots.

Fantastic Home Highly Recommend It !

I stayed at this lovely home with a friend and our children. We highly recommend this home. The place is immaculate which is important to most of us. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The home is spacious and the outside is very relaxing. We can't wait to come back and spend more time here. Great place to stay for adults only as well.

Perfect mountain getaway

We were very satisfied with this property. It's a beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting. Hot tub was fabulous. Amenities listed a DVD player so we took movies but DVD player did not work. It was not as clean as we would have liked but we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Get away

The house was so comfortable and welcoming. The creek was a definite plus . The driveway was tricky but we figured out the best way was to back in. The fire pit and seating needs work. Everything else was perfect. Thank you.

5 Star Stay

Excellent stay; very clean and well stocked with kitchenware. Fabulous hot tub overlooking a rushing creek. Great property for exploring and enjoying the mountain ridge. Responsive communication with the owner. Private and secluded. Bring your own fire starter, charcoal, and, in the case of ice/snow, provisions.

Maggie Valley Stay

This was a great little get away. The cabin is just as advertised. Very cozy and the creek was serene and pleasant to sit by. The surrounding area was easy access from the cabin. (would caution anyone with a car that sits low to ground, I have a 300 and there were times when the under carriage scraped ground on the road in/out and driveway). This is great area, we went into Smokies and drove a bit on the Blue Ridge Parkway and made our way to Cataloochee to see the Elk. Had a blast. Would stay again.

A slice of heaven

This. Place. Rocks!!!! Spacious, well-provisioned, and in a GREAT location. About 5 min from Maggie Valley, 20 min from Cherokee, 3 min from Blue Ridge Parkway. The creek below provides a wonderful soundtrack. The hot tub is superior. The bedrooms and baths are great! My only partial, little complaint is... it is satellite internet... so it is slow. If you are planning a work-getaway... your internet won't be quite up to snuff. It works... just a lag... so not so good for video calls. Having said that... shame on me for trying to work in the mountains!! DEFINITE recommend and I WILL return!

Gorgeous!!

The grounds of this property is absolutely gorgeous!! Breathtaking views! Especially for a city girl. The cabin is warm, cozy, comfy and very welcoming! Very nice for a family and/or friends setting. It's also clean and organized. They have everything you need to cook, bake, drink etc. Very equipped, I was actually impressed. .lol The water from the tap is extremely cold and refreshing! It comes straight from the creek, filtered. No need for bottled water. Lots of attractions as well. We visited Cataloochee ski resort.. great! Soco Falls, Biltmore, Smokey Mountains National Park and a few others. The snow tubing area that's near Cataloochee is no good. I do not recommend it. I did go to Tennessee. We went to Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort. 1.5hrs from Maggie Valley. Nice as well. Alot of attractions and restaurants. Tram ride, cool! Unfortunately.. we went to snowboard.. not enough snow. Only beginners slope open. Not even 1 lift open. Outdoor activities closed due to weather, fog and rain. Downfall of having real snow, it's unpredictable here. Cataloochee was a way better experience for us and they made snow.. guaranteed skiing/snowboarding..lol. Overall.. an excellent experience in the Great O'l Smokey Mountains. Now... getting to this cabin is a different story. If you're unfamiliar with this area or unaccustomed to driving up and down steep roads... buckle up! It's scary as hell!!! To get to this cabin is down a steep concrete with some dirt/gravel hill, with some turns that has dirt/gravel. When your at the entrance of your cabin, you have to back in to go down the gaveled driveway. It's easiest. Thank God my husband drove, I couldn't do it alone..lol. Good news is, after a couple drives up and down... you get the hang of it and it's not that bad. Overall... EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE WITH GREAT MEMORIES SHARED WITH FAMILY!! THANK YOU FOR OPENING UP YOUR BEAUTIFUL HOME TO US :)

Exceptional!

This log home is absolutely beautiful! The location is perfect, being so close to Maggie Valley, Cherokee, and Waynesville. Being creekside is such an amazing location! The setting is tranquil and private. The drive in is a bit rough on the gravel road, but that is expected and well described in the listing... just something to be aware of. The cabin is very clean and well stocked. The couches are sooo comfortable! The wifi was phenomenal with us, even while streaming on the TV and 4 devices. The only criticism we have is the lack of an outside trash receptacle. We found that we needed to take our trash to the drop off location every day or so. This is certainly not a big deal, but something to be aware of. The host was extremely responsive and helpful! We travel to the Maggie Valley area every year, and this home is in our top 5 list for sure! We will definitely be back!

Wonderful!!!

We had a beautiful stay and it was hard to leave. We are hikers and enjoyed driving around finding all the awesome hikes. After a long day hiking it was nice to relax in the hot tub. Mornings and evenings were so peaceful out on the porch. We brought our own birdseed and hummingbird feeder which made it a delight to see all the birds and several hummingbirds. The outside deck is surrounded by trees with a nice creek running alongside the house. We kept the window open at night and the sound of the creek lulled us to sleep. A little bit of paradise.

Relaxing and Cozy

Two couples stayed at this wonderful cabin for a month in the beautiful Smokey Mountains. We were especially pleased that the cabin was close to the National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The hot tub on the deck was an added bonus after hiking during the day. The cabin feels very private and soothing as the rushing creek adds it's background music. We found the cabin clean and comfortable and the kitchen supplied with everything we needed. The driveway was tricky (for those not used to mountain driving), but coming in from the backway was very helpful! Kathy was kind to give us directions. We would recommend this lovely cabin for anyone who would like to get away and spend time in God's beauty.
