Historic Gold Coast Hideout ~ Close To Several Lake Michigan Beaches!
We warmly welcome you to 1920 and the Hideout, first established back when Lakeshore Drive was just a two-track road seldom traveled by anyone other than the isolated cottagers randomly dotted along the gold coast shoreline of Lake Michigan.
This infamous historic home has housed bootleggers and gangsters alike back from the prohibition era! Now you too, can eat, sleep, and live where they once did! And better still, you can enjoy the amazing amenities of the Holland area that they never had!
The Hideout has been restored back to its original condition of 1920. Much of the furniture and decor has been authenticated, appraised, and documented. Our passion is to have our guests step back in time to see and feel what it would have been like to set foot in the Hideout back during the prohibition era!

We were in town to visit a family friend that lives within walking distance, so the location was great for us. The only downside was it's not exactly little kid (2&Under) friendly. We would still stay hear again.
My family had a lovely stay in this charming, historic home. We had everything we needed. The location is great, and our contacts with the owner were positive.
I was in a wedding in Holland and had a lot of events over the weekend to get to. It was so nice being within 15 min of everything and there was a small beach within walking distance. Also, the neighbors were really nice. Lots of space in the backyard!
I stayed at this location while working in Holland. The property was as described and Dave was very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this to anyone vacationing as it is a great location, and also for work as it’s close to everything but also a quiet area with low traffic.
Beautiful house and location with easy beach access
Beautiful historic house that has everything you need. Only about 4 miles from Holland State Park, and there are multiple other beaches within 10 minutes by car or 20-25 by bike. Very quiet and relaxing neighborhood. Would definitely recommend.
Property was clean and well maintained. It was a short distances to everything in Holland. The esthetic was fun, I wish the lighting in the house was a little brighter.
Great location for our needs. Beautiful neighborhood was perfect for walking/jogging/biking. The house was closer to the street than we expected, but it was still fairly quiet. It was very well equipped, and all of the appliances seemed fairly new. The laundry room was huge and very much appreciated. We loved the comfy furniture and vintage decor.
The property is in a great location. Easy access to several very nice beaches, a great walking trail just outside the door, and a quick drive to downtown Holland. It worked well for our long weekend getaway. The house can be a little on the dark side inside so if you’re looking for a modern, bright interior this isn’t the house for you. But we enjoyed the “old timey” theme and you can’t beat the location.
First, I want to say communication with the host was great! Also, the location to everything is pretty ideal. We loved being able to pop down to Riley beach in the evening and it was never too crowded. The house itself met our needs although was lacking in cleanliness. The bathroom had a bit of a mildew smell and some basic cleaning had been missed.
Vacationed in this home for just over a week. Beautiful property. Loved the back patio and yard. Excellent reading there. Loved hearing the birds we normally don't see or hear in our home town.
A great biking town. Bike paths everywhere. Nice mountain bike course within a couple miles. Very close to beach access. Beautiful beaches. Inexpensive golf courses within 15 minutes.
Kitchen was equipped with all the right pots and pans. Beautiful living room.
We had some issues with cleanliness, but worked it out with David. Great communication with him. Very timely.
Our out of town guests loved their stay here. It was perfect for them and they could walk to a nearby beach and enjoy the lake. Communication with the owner was fabulous! He was so accommodating, helpful, responsive and thorough!

Good location
Location of house is great! Quick drive to beaches, downtown Holland, and parks. Bike path goes right in front of house!
Everything was as described in the listing. The house was very clean and cozy. The kitchen equipment is minimal, but it was enough for us. If you read the information about the house the owners are restoring it to its state in the 1920's. The kitchen and sitting areas are open so its a great space. The front yard is beautiful and the butterfly bushes are great as we saw a lot of butterflies during our stay. The beach is very close and the house is quiet dispute it being close to the road. The 1 bathroom is very roomy and there were plenty of towels. I would recommend this property!!

We had a great, relaxing stay at this property! Dave was very responsive to us and was pleasant to communicate with. We enjoyed Riley Beach, as it was small and perfect for our family. Great stay!!
We had an enjoyable stay at the Tommy Gun Hideout. Love the location on the bike path--great for morning walks/runs. Curtains were added to the property giving you privacy as needed. We did notice a little bit of a musty smell when we first arrived, due to rain and likely age of the property. The kitchen is fairly well stocked with utensils, pans and pots. Make sure to bring your own spices, oil, coffee grounds, etc if you plan to use the kitchen at all. The living room and eat in kitchen both suited our family well for relaxing mornings and meal times. The decor is neat to take in. My son is especially loved the bear in the mudroom. If you are planning a beach trip or if it's chilly at night, recommend bringing your own beach towel and throw blankets. Overall, good vacation house.
